Teeto is the upcoming 3D platformer that's so wholesome the devs literally proposed to each other through it
A very engaging game indeed!
Impending retro 3D platformer Teeto just got a new trailer as part of FGS Live From Los Angeles, showing off a lovable pair of protagonists in a game that's so cute that one of the developers literally engaged to the other through the game. I doubt you can say that about Call of Duty, eh?
Teeto's trailer shows off the two heroes, scientist rabbit Nory and her most recent creation, the blue... uh, thing, T33-T0 (aka, the titular Teeto). In a clear homage to beloved Banjo-Kazooie, the pair team up to battle back shadows and rescue the Michaels, the self-replicating little baby blobs that Nory invented prior to Teeto.
Along the way we discover that our newly-printed protagonist has all kind of morphing powers that allow him to mimic and adapt to the environment, thus showing off Teeto turning into rock, breathing fire and ice, and generally going all Absorbing Man in effort of this grand rescue. There's even a selection of cosmetics to discover and equip, and - hold on, was that Agent 47's suit and tie?
And yes, the two developers did indeed get engaged while testing the game, a little bit of behind-the-scenes footage so wholesome that even a grouch like me can't help but smile at it. And it seems as though game development runs in the family, as the couple's daughter even voiced some of the characters! That footage is arguably a little less wholesome when you hear the line, but still very, very funny.
If all that speaks to your heart as much as mine, you can expect Teeto to release July 16, 2026 on PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. You can check out more of the developer's progress on their social media accounts at BlueSky, X/Twitter, TikTok and Instagram.
