Bandai Namco reveals new Little Nightmares VR: Altered Echoes trailer, featuring a release date and enough nightmare fuel to last me the year
Coming to a VR headset near you on April 24
Bandai Namco has appeared at Future Games Show's Spring Showcase Powered by HyperX with a trailer for Little Nightmares VR: Altered Echoes in tow, revealing a release date for the upcoming spook 'em up.
Just over a minute and a half long, the trailer is packed with plenty of dark and mysterious vibes. We open with several shots of differing rooms – from a classroom with a lone figure staring into the distance, to a kitchen bathed in red light. The backing to all of this is a choir of children humming. Real nightmare fuel.
As we continue, we get a glimpse of gameplay, with a set of floating hands in front of us – a fairly common sight in VR games. Putting those hands to use, we interact with the environment to solve certain puzzles. Or just interact with the environment. As we see when we toss a fish head into a boiling pot of water.
Amid the gameplay, as we near the end of our trailer, we get some more frights as we see more mysterious beings – some of whom see you, too. Interestingly, we also see that Iconik is helping Bandai Namco with this one, which has a wealth of experience in all things VR.
As the trailer ends, we get some more key information. Little Nightmares VR: Altered Echoes comes out on April 24 and will be available on PlayStation VR2, Meta Quest, and SteamVR.

I joined GamesRadar+ in May 2022 following stints at PCGamesN and PocketGamer.Biz, with some freelance for Kotaku UK, RockPaperShotgun, and VG24/7 thrown in for good measure. When I'm not running the news team on the games side, you'll find me putting News Editor duties to one side to play the hottest JRPG of 20 years ago or pillaging the depths of Final Fantasy 14 for a swanky new cloak – the more colourful, the better.
