Cars 2 will be racing into cinemas next June, and Pixar have just released the very first, very teaser-y teaser for the auto-sequel.
Upping the action quotient after the more subdued first Cars , this sequel sees Mater and McQueen (i.e. the only characters you really remember from the original) heading off on a Race of Champions world tour.
Having visited Japan, Austria, Italy and France, Mater accidentally saves the life of a British agent and is sucked into the spy’s top secret work.

Though Cars doesn't rank up there alongside Toy Story and Finding Nemo as essential Pixar viewage, we're hopeful for its sequel. Unlike other studios, Pixar are famous for lavishing love and attention on every one of their films, and Cars 2 shouldn't be any different.
Here's hoping Mater's one line from the teaser doesn't prove prophetic.
