Wolf Creek (2005)
The Road Trip Moment: Three backpackers hightailing it across northern Australia accept the hospitality of a local man, who offers to help fix their failing truck and offers them rations.
Why It's Crazy: He’s a serial killer who’d drugged the water - his kindness a mask to entrap the group and carry out his brutal, sadistic desires.
The Doom Generation (1995)
The Road Trip Moment: Xavier (Jonathan Schaech), in an anti-heroic moment saves Amy (Rose McGowan) and Jordan (James Duval) from a raving, gun-toting convenience store clerk by blowing his head off.
Why It's Crazy: The careening, decapitated head lands in a pile of hot dog mush and continues to babble as the trio flee the store.
Kalifornia (1993)
The Road Trip Moment: Traveling from Pittsburgh to California, Brian (David Duchovny) and Carrie (Michelle Forbes) pick up the mysterious Early (Brad Pitt) and Adele (Juliette Lewis) as part of a rideshare. During a gas station toilet stop, Carrie spots a news announcement revealing their companions are fleeing the law...
Why It's Crazy: ‘Cause turns out Early likes the taste of blood with his slushie and two-dollar hotdog. He kills the gas station attendant, then takes Brian and Carrie hostage.
Thelma And Louise (1991)
The Road Trip Moment: On the last leg of their escape from the law, Thelma (Geena Davis) and Louise (Susan Sarandon) bump into a leering trucker, who previously harangued them by making obscene gestures.

Why It's Crazy: They demand an apology for his sexist behaviour. When he point blank refuses, out come the pistols and they riddle his tanker with bullets. Which then explodes, attractively.
Natural Born Killers (1994)
The Road Trip Moment: Amorous psychopaths Mickey (Woody Harrelson) and Mallory (Juliette Lewis) pull into a diner for some much-needed nourishment from their lengthy travels. Mallory attracts some unwelcome attention from a patron.
Why It's Crazy: She beats him to a pulp, much to the shock of the fellow diners. Then she and Mickey proceed to blow everyone away.
