The Walking Dead hits retail December 11

Telltale Games' The Walking Dead will hit retail on December 11 in North America. The disc collection for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 compiles all five episodes of the critically acclaimed adventure series into one package for $30.

Originally slated to land December 4, we can only assume the release was pushed back a week because some jerks stole all the copies out of a station wagon abandoned in the woods. True Deadheads (that's what that means, right?) can drop $70 on a limited Collector's Edition bundle for PS3 and Xbox 360 exclusively from GameStop, which includes the game and a collection of the first 48 issues of The Walking Dead comic by Robert Kirkman.

Telltale plans to announce retail releases for the series outside of North America soon. If you somehow haven't played through the gut-wrenching series but don't want more packaging cluttering up your safehouse, you could always download it for $25 on Steam, PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, or iOS.

Wow, I'm glad this is happening. I've wanted to play it for quite a while, but I don't really like downloadable titles, mostly because of my tiny HDD's. The collectors editions sounds amazing as well- although I highly doubt I'll be getting it. That said, £20 does seem awfully cheap for a game of this... Caliber... And it begs the question- is it too short to bother with?

Alexis. although Barry`s comment is great, on monday I got a great new Lotus Carlton after having earned $4364 this last four weeks and a little over 10/k lass month. this is definitely the most financially rewarding Ive ever done. I started this nine months/ago and pretty much immediately started bringing in at least $75... p/h. I went to this website..www.Google.MEL7.CoM

This actually sounds pretty legit. It helps that I am obsessed with Zombies...we'll see what the review that www.trollstompgaming.com gives it and then decide from there. Otherwise I might end up just sticking to Halo 4...

Same here, it's hard to really call this a game though. More of an emotional journey/experience. If this doesn't win GOTY awards somewhere, not necessarily just on this site, I think I will be disappointed.

I'm fairly sure it's gonna get GOTY on this site though. Pretty much every single editor seems to love the game, and i doubt there is any other game with such an unanimous amount of love.

I'll wait until a Steam sale this Christmas. Been meaning to pick it up on Steam, but I don't have much time as of late. Winter break is a whole new story although.

Ugh I might buy it again just to support the devs and have it on my shelf. This is my personal game of the year. Not sure I'm ready to start another play again though... (man tears)
