I just hope game devs won't be forced, or try to force, any mechanics into the game they don't want like the Wii forced devs to do with motion controls. While I loved the Wii and think it ranks up there as an underrated console with some really good gems on it, I do hate the fact that many devs felt forced to put Motion Controls in their games. Ironic that Microsoft is halfway trying to do that with Kinect.

The thing that's nice about the Wii U is that all they really have to do to incorporate the pad is put the inventory or a map on the screen, not add a whole new control scheme that is unresponsive.

Some didnt even need to but devs just didnt know what, i mean look at Brawl, it has all control schemes and uses exactly no motion and Tatsunoko vs Capcom didnt use it either. It depends on the devs willingness to use them efficently, games like No more heroes 2, the trauma Center games and other known 3rd parties did it right, but you cant blame them, Nintendo wasnt open enough with the Wii, thank god their not doing it on the Wii U and is being more open, especially since the Wii U IS more open
