Honestly, I feel like this move would just push people to hack their xboxes to play pirated games. If the inability to let my friends borrow games isn't enough, the nightmare of being unable to play my games just because the internet is down will certainly lead me to aggressively pursue the means to break free of that system. In the past, DRM has always been quick to be circumvented by pirates while massively inconveniencing paying customers. Ultimately, I can only see this plan (should microsoft choose to implement it) backfiring before being cancelled a year later due to high piracy rates.
