Pilotwings always seems like a nice world to me - I know everyone's a pilot, but then you don't meet many people, so I assume it's some exclusive members' club rather than a dystopia. But thinking about Katamari too long scares the crap out of me.

OBJECTION Pilotwings games take place on the same island as Wii Sports Resort. Therefore other jobs (mostly those dealing with hospitality and tourism) must exist in order to facilitate the activities of the island. It's the same kind of concept as Bali or Fiji, while plenty of jobs deal with keeping tourists happy and coming to the islands, other jobs do exist.

Nice list. I remember the first time I ever played Mr Driller when I was younger, my only thought was "do I really have to force him to do this?" No matter which way you slice it he is going to die and you'll feel terrible about it. The pressure of having to keep seeking oxygen to replenish your fleeting stock, and the press of blocks all around you, made me feel like I was suffocating with him. I'm so sorry Mr. Driller! *cries* Pilotwings was a bit of a stretch though. It's easy to infer that flying isn't the only occupation in that world. At the very least some poor soul had to actually design and build all those aircraft in the first place; there's no way in hell I'd let a pilot manufacture a plane. I also expected Pikmin to be on here too if only because Olimar's circumstances in the first game are rather like Mr. Driller's (except with methane and not oxygen). I hope their tanks don't cross contaminate each other.
