To race as Tetsuo (The japanese person Tempest steals his cart from in the intro):
Beat the MEDIUM tournament (coming in first in every race) then beating him on i think its the city one, with heaps of turbo pads, and if u hit all of them, u should win, there are no shortcuts i know of.

To race as Beamer (Brains robot car):
You guessed it, beat the HARD tournament and come in first in every race, and u should get the robot.
There is also a BONUS menu in the default menu, ie tournament, single race etc. It is at the bottom, i got it by beating the EASY but i didnt come in first, i think all u have to do is win the tournament.

Short Cut
To beat Tetsuo after beating the medium tournement - there is a short cut. Get to it by turning right into the bushes after the tunnel.

On one of the Medium tracks go through the rainbow arch on in the cliffs after the first turn it skips out a little of the track

On the race against Cosworth(The cosworth challenge!) There is a shortcut that takes bout a second off Cosworth every lap.(the 1 he uses in the last lap if you're in front of him!)
You have to get a good run into that corner and then you will (Hopefully!) drive right up the corner and jump into the cave!
With a little bit of practice you should be able to do this in every lap.

To Get Full Booster, You wait after the second light hits and One and press X. You might get great Start Or excellent start or Even Perfect start. This takes Time.

Beat the EASY tournament (coming in first in every race) and then beat Cosworth on millenium park (watch him race first time, to see how to take the short cut).
