Half-Life 2: Episode Three

The first concept art from Half-Life 2: Episode Three

Two PC Gamer exclusives, including one never-before-seen render!

The web is abuzz over what some believed to be the first concept art of Half-Life 2: Episode Three from an exhibit of video game art called Into the Pixel. And some are so wrong. The first concept art from Valve’s episodic blockbuster actually appeared in the pages of PC Gamer magazine in our November 2007 issue!

That was our cover story and review of The Orange Box, and our exclusive render showed what appeared to be a group of Advisors floating in what we presume to be the icebound Borealis, a research vessel that was once operated by our friends at Aperture Science.

Here is the image we ran in the magazine last year, plus we’re throwing in another concept render that we’d been saving for a rainy day. It’s not raining today – in fact, a large portion of California happens to be on fire – but whatever. You either want to see them, or you don’t.

episode 3 better be just as long, if not longer than half life 2. episode 1 and 2 are fun, but half life 2 is by far the greatest, due to the diversity of maps, length of the game, action, everything. i can't wait for episode 3!!!!!!!!

I just don't get it. Episode One was released by Valve on June 1, 2006. Then Episode Two a little over a year later in October 2007. WHY the LOOOOOOONG WAIT for Episode Three ? Yes, I want EP3 to be great, but THAT argument can be made indefinitely.... if they wait til the year 2012 just think how cool it'll be.... NO, wait... even cooler in the year 2016. Note to VALVE... GET WITH IT !!!!!!
