God of War teaser update - now it's a monsoon

The weather has taken a turn for the worse over at the God of War 3 teaser site, www.spartansstandtall.com. What started off as a thunderstorm has now blown up to a full monsoon.

As we predicted in our previous musings, the ring around the spartan shield is indeed filling up, acting as a countdown timer. But to what?

There have been rumours around the web this morning thanks to a magazine scan that appears to reveal the first DLC for the game as a one-on-one fighter. We're certain the visuals will stand up to a close camera angle and the fighting system could well work even when restricted by one axis, thanks to its parry system.

But does that look anything like the teaser site? No. Check it out - first we had this:

And now we have this:

Those raindrops' concentric circles on the water's surface make the water seem much closer than it previously appeared. So this almost certainly isn't a view from the ledge that Kratos threw himself from in God of War 1.

We're only half-way through the reveal, of course - look at the shield in the top-right:

Two more segments to go and then we'll know. Our money is still on a new PSP God of War game, but it's anyone's guess. What do you think it's all about? And are you tired of rainstorm-based teaser sites? Let us know in the comments.

Personally I hope it is DLC fleshing out the game to its full potential. Although I'd rate the game a high 9 or 10, it could have been a better, longer 10 with a more substantial story. I'd say give me Atlas, Morpheus, the missing pieces. I understand that Atlas was seen being captured by Hades, but I don't really see how time-travel wouldn't still take him to Kratos' present. By the way, what other rainstorm teasers were there?

If this is going to be a DLC we all are really luck... Remember when the Developers said that if they launch a DLC it would be free. let's hope it is...

***SPOILER ALERT*** remember in the end of GOW III, after the credits, when Kratos is gone and there is only a pirl of blood leading to gap to the ocean? Maybe when the meter is full we`ll see Kratos coming up from the water on the teaser site? hmmm...

are you tired of rainstorm-based teaser sites? christ yes, damn mgs :P it would be hilarious if they stopped at the next one and announced that they were coming to the xbox 360 :D

By only going by that the teaser is water based. and that I was watching the extras on GOW 1&2 the other day. They cut a whole Atlantis part out ... and a titan boss Oceanis out too, they could do another PSP game set after chains of Olympus and before the 1st ...Kratos in Atlantis? I'd buy that for a dollar!

    RROD strikes again!

I would actually enjoy a fighter because the fight with Zeus was fun, though I would want it as DLC and for cheap not the price of a whole new game.

The loop's not perfect though...let's hope they put more effort into their DLC. As long as God of War doesn't turn into Heavy Rain (pun intended), they can do whatever they want with it. And I really do hope its a PSP game - haven't got one myself, but its an excuse for my mate to bring his over - and if its handled as well as Chains of Olympus was and as long as the setting's right, there wont be any complaints from me.

i think i see something reflected in the first pic that kinda looks like a builidng/monster and maybe it is the thing that's casting that shadow(at least i think it's a shadow) on the bottom left hand corner of the second site. could be another Hydra level for GOW3 maybe the crest will tunr into a link when it is full that will allow you to visit another site which will probably have some other type of riddle game or something
