Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Facebook app gets it backwards

Konami has just launched Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Challenge, a Facebook app designed to promote the upcoming release of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game has you choose between the Brotherhood of Light and the Lords of Shadow to determine whether you’ll be rolling a ‘good’ army or an ‘evil’ one.

Shadow Challenge, will unlock content from the console version of the game. But it appears that most of what you’ll get for clicking around in the social network-friendly app will be a series of Castlevania screenshots and trailers you’ve probably already seen. We really think it should be the other way around, and would like to see the Facebook app unlock content for the console versions instead.

The Facebook is is live and ready for you to 'Like,' if you choose. You can check it out here. The console game, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow will release for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on Tuesday, October 5. European audiences will see a release on October 7. In the meantime, you can read our super review to find out more about what you can expect from Lord of Shadow’s fresh approach to the classic series.

Yeah, I love you guys, but I gotta agree... this doesn't make any sense: "Lords of Shadow Challenge unlocks content from console version of the game" "We really think it should be the other way around, and would like to see the Facebook app unlock content for the console versions instead."

@Eroticinvisibleman ahhhhh i got it, the wording is still tricky and there were comma errors in the article i apologize tyler, you are still one of my fave games radar staff! and it would be interesting to unlock pieces of the game through facebook, but i also think that could be a really frustrating development for console players that don't want to mess with external venues for game content I really like getting the complete game experience on the disc, dlc expansions are fine but same-day launch dlc and add ons like extra characters annoy the piss out of me, those things should be on-disc... kthxby

@Awesome "so the facebook app unlocks content from the console version... but you'd like to see the facebook app unlock content from the console version?" It actually says "would like to see the Facebook app unlock content FOR the console versions" not from in the article (the part you quoted).

Yippee, that scumbag's Zuckerberg's crappy website intrudes even further into my favorite hobby. I will admit that I don't understand the appeal of social networks, but moving beyond that, why couldn't people have chosen one owned by someone with even the semblance of ethics?

Confusion reigns. Or perhaps it rains, as in pours down.

So we get crap to look at in Facebook, not anything to do with the actual game we'll be buying, right? I was about to head over and try to unlock some goodies, but that doesn't sound like a worthwhile plan now.

you guys need a better editor, this is terribly written 'Shadow Challenge, will unlock content from the console version of the game... We really think it should be the other way around, and would like to see the Facebook app unlock content for the console versions instead.' so the facebook app unlocks content from the console version... but you'd like to see the facebook app unlock content from the console version? lolwut
