BioShock Infinite Discussion

In my opinion, this game wasn't very Bioshock-y at all. It might have been the lack of splicers, but I still thoroughly enjoyed this game from start to finish. The storyline of this game blew me away. I feel it was much deeper than the first Bioshock, although that could have been because my friends made sure I knew what Bioshock (1) was about before I even played it. Infinite gave me the chills from how gorgeous the surroundings were. I feel that the colors, music, and overall design worked phenomenally together and made this game as successful as it has become. I waited so long for the release of this game and I can definitely say, the wait was worth it. It's become one of my most favorite games -- enough to be able to play it over and over again. I love everything about it. The cleverness of playing "futuristic" music through Elizabeth's tears made me smile, too. On another note, some parts of this game did disappoint me. Splicers really gave me that thrill I knew Bioshock for. Now, I know Infinite is a totally different story and doesn't even have to do with Rapture, but I was hoping for more times of fearing for my life. I rarely encountered Boys of Silence and I was looking forward to toying with them. I also do wish that our gameplay was more influential towards how the game ended. If the player could have made some decisions, such as the karma in Dishonored or Fallout, it would have given the game more excitement. I loved the option of different endings in Bioshock (1), but Infinite's ending sure did make my jaw hit the floor. All in all, this game surely surpassed my expectations, but as every game, isn't perfect. Each player has their own specific preferences. 10/10 storyline and gameplay, 10/10 graphics. Ideal.

All the Bioshocks are linked to this game through the multiverse thing. Rapture became Colombia. Jack is Booker and Andrew is Comstock. EVE's are Salts and Plasmids are vigors . Even the little sister and Elizabeth look alike! The Big Daddies became a Songbird. Jack went into Rapture the same way Booker went into Colombia. So there you have it!

Traveling through Columbia was really the best experience, the story was amazing and the visuals where breathtaking (same as Rapture) however there were disappointments as well like no boss battle, no choice and no evil/good behavior (Ken did say that the way we were going to treat the songbird is going to affect Elizabeth in a good or a bad way and yet that never even happened), and I was expecting this to be perfect but lets face reality nothing is and nothing will be.

*Edit: Second installment. Bioshock "2" was a DLC-rushed-to-market piece of crap that lost the spirit of the original.

Playing through the second time, noticing even more stuff in the background NPC vignettes. A trio on the beach discussing looking for an abortionist for one of the women, a mother scolding her (later, serminglu familiar) boy for kissing Irish girls, a pair of servants discussing in hushed tones the Vox outside a hotel.
