Seven Types of Girl Gamers-Mmorpg.quickjump.net

The funny thing is, I did think of this article back in the dark days of freelancing - but I wasn’t able to sell the idea to anyone. I wanted to write it because too often people don’t recognize me as a girl gamer because I’m not fat, hardcore, or a Frag Doll. We girl gamers come in all different shapes, sizes and flavors - there ought to be a list of the major archetypes so people will quit getting confused. For the record, I’m type Passionate Gamer with a minor schism in Cosplay Gamer - see myFreakish Fashionfeature for proof.

The only thing I would have done differently (aside from includingbetter pictures) is include anecdotes from real girl gamers. LikeProduction Editor Carolyn Gudmundson- a Passionate Gamer with Closet Gamer tendencies - who was brazenly asked point-blank range by some dumb guy: “Do you actually play games?” Or the true story of a World of Warcraft widow - a Hardcore Gamer manipulated into being a Girlfriend Gamer - who finally divorced her spouse because he wouldn’t play Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter with her in exchange for all the time she logged in WoW to make him happy (gamer marriages take more work than normal marriages, I guess).

So read up and know thy Girl Gamers, people! You just might wind up dating one someday (if you’re lucky).
