It seems like only yesterday that Saw III was announced, and yet here’s a teaser trailer stalking on to the net to give us a glimpse of the third film in the series. They grow up and become lethal so fast these days…
But that speed is what gives the Saw films their edge – no pun intended. As soon as the healthy box office from one movie allows, the makers just crank up the cameras on the next instalment and the fans rejoice.
Saw III looks to be offering exactly what the franchise usually delivers – plenty of terrified people tortured in exquisite ways by a masked, puppet-clown-faced lunatic. And this time he has a little help – apprentice Amanda (Shawnee Smith) and Jigsaw have kidnapped Dr Lynn Denlon (Bahar Soomekh). She is told that she must keep Jigsaw alive for as long as it takes Jeff (Angus MacFadyen) to complete a game of his own. Racing against the ticking clock of Jigsaw's heartbeat, Lynn and Jeff struggle to make it through each of their tests, unaware that he has a bigger plan for both of them…
