Dark Envoy has many talents. It's an RPG with tactical RTS elements. It offers a modern slant on some of the role-playing genre's most familiar and understood mechanics. It's unique in its execution, too – you'll be able to play in real time, slow down your movements on the battlefield, or even pause to take stock and regroup before calling your next orders, giving combat a more dynamic feel than more traditional turn-based games. When not fighting to survive, players will fill the shoes of Malakai and Kaela, two children of refugees who wander the expansive, multi-biome lands of Jäan in search of relics and undiscovered treasures.
As conflict looms between the technocratic Human Empire and ancient magic-wielding League of Old Races, how you position Malakai, Keala and their companions will be crucial to your survival, making your class choices, and the subclasses you'll develop – as well as perks, stats, weapons, equipment and more – all the more important.
