To demonstrate: On April 2, 2026 the PS5 got its third price hike in Australia. The base PS5 disc model now costs AU$999.95, while the PS5 digital model costs AU$919.95. The PS5 Pro is AU$1,399.95. Ouch.
The digital PS5 and the PS5 Pro don't come with a disc drive, so if you want to use discs you'll need to buy the Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive for PS5 for AU$124.95 to tack onto the side, if you're lucky enough to find one in stock. That said, with Sony discontinuing physical discs, it may not be worth it.
This paints a pretty bleak picture for prospective PS5 owners: a base PS5 now costs AU$250 more than it did when it launched in November 2020. So it's probably more important than ever to keep an eye out for PS5 deals in Australia, and that's what this page is all about.
To make matters more complex, stock seems to be an issue based on how many retailers are limiting purchases of PS5 consoles to one per customer. Meanwhile, the PS5 Pro is increasingly scarce. If you want a console pre-GTA 6, it might be wise to move sooner rather than later.
