Crash and Coco may have defeated Neo Cortex, N. Trophy, N. Brio, and the rest of the evil troupe countless times before, but they're a resilient bunch. Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is all about the Bandicoot duo and their latest escapade, this time through different dimensions thanks to some rifts that have opened up. The only way to close the rifts and save the world is via the four Quantum Masks, which have handily all been split up. So it's down to Crash and Coco to recover the four masks and harness their powers to save the world from inevitable peril.
Lani-Loli is the first friendly face the Bandicoots encounter, at the top of N. Sanity Peak. After rescuing it from a colossal ghostly monster, Crash and Coco can use Lani-Loli's phase ability throughout The Hazardous Wastes. This allows them to bring platforms, obstacles, and all sorts of crates in and out of reality, opening some otherwise inaccessible paths.
'Akano is next, and the Dark Matter abilities it brings come into play in Tranquility Falls. Spin endlessly to repel green magic and smash locked crates, while also leaping far beyond the usual capabilities of a Bandicoot. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's a Dark Matter Bandicoot!
Kupuna-Wa is perhaps the most iconic of the bunch, as it can manipulate time. Not quite to the levels of the rifts causing havoc, but Kupuna-Wa can slow down time for the wearer, meaning they can jump across gaps that would otherwise be too dangerous, mainly in The 11th Dimension, where it's found. It also provides protection from Nitro crates, so Crash and Coco can bounce on them and have time to escape the blast.
Then there's Ika Ika, the gravity mask which is aptly found in space. Bermugula's Orbit to be exact, and while it doesn't have an anti-gravity effect, it does flip gravity so Crash and Coco can walk on the ceiling. Use this effect to look seriously cool as you try to save the world.
