Celluloid fans get a longer version of Tarantino's The Hateful Eight

Quentin Tarantino's quest to shoot everything on actual film stock is no secret. He loves celluloid. Heck, he recently admitted that he records shows and movies from the TV onto VHS cassettes. His romance with the format continues this December when The Hateful Eight rolls out in Ultra Panavision 70mm for a limited roadshow, a version that's set to include an extra six minutes of footage compared to the general multiplex release two weeks later.

“The roadshow version has an overture and an intermission, and it will be three hours, two minutes,” he tells Variety. “The multiplex version is about six minutes shorter, not counting the intermission time, which is about 12 minutes.” This extended six minutes will consist of several 'tweaked' scenes dotted throughout the film as opposed to one long sequence that would leave the multiplex cut uneven.
