Where to buy a PS5 in Australia: PS5 will soon cost AU$999.95, but you can still grab one cheaper beforehand

Nowadays it's easy to pick up a PS5 console or bundle in Australia, whether you're after the standalone disc or digital version, but getting them cheaper than RRP can sometimes be a challenge.

Things are about to get worse for PS5 bargain hunters, because Sony has just announced a third price hike for all models of the PS5. Starting April 2, 2026, the base PS5 disc model will cost AU$999.95, the PS5 digital model will cost AU$919.95, while the PS5 Pro will rise to AU$1,399.95.

By the way, the digital PS5 and the PS5 Pro don't come with a disc drive, so you'll need to buy the Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive for PS5 for AU$124.95 to tack onto the side, if you're lucky enough to find one in stock.

This paints a pretty bleak picture for prospective PS5 owners: a base PS5 now costs AU$250 more than it did when it launched in November 2020. So it's probably more important than ever to keep an eye out for PS5 deals in Australia, and that's what this page is all about.
