Paper Mario Sticker Star – E3 gameplay trailer

Mario is back in paper form and is heading for a new adventure on the 3DS. This time around the action RPG revolves around stickers, which you use to bash enemies and solve environmental puzzles. This means you'll have to scourer each level for stickers hidden inside Question Blocks and stuck to almost every surface in the game. Mario can even take regular objects and turn them into stickers as well.

But not much else has changed for this paper-thin plumber, which isn't a bad thing. The game retains its time-based RPG elements that have made the Paper Mario franchise a smash hit in the past. So you'll still have to press buttons at just the right moment to deal some extra damage and block attacks. Its paper bending humor and whimsy are back as well.

Check out the trailer below as Mario peels out during the holidays:

This is about my most anticipated game this year. I absolutely love the Paper Mario series for it's humor and deeper look into the insane Mario universe.

I've noticed how in none of the trailers Mario has a partner. I'm assuming this means they took away the whole partner thing. That kinda saddens me because part of the reason I loved the series is the Mario/Partner interactions... Oh well.

They better not have! I want Parakoopa to be by my side, or atleast the little fish dude from the n64 version.

Now here is somthing that I have not seen in a long time, plain old paper cut version of mario. Loved the n64 version, but never tried the GC or wii version.

The GC one was also a great game, the Wii one was good as well, just not quite so much an RPG as the others.
  • IceBlueKirby - June 7, 2012 5:33 p.m.

It seems like it's been such a long wait for this game because I'm so excited for it, but at least the wait will be over in a few months. This will easily be a day-one purchase for me.

The phrase sticker star worries me.

The game probably just tasks Mario with finding the seven magical Sticker Stars. The first game he had to find the seven Star Spirits, then in Thousand Year Door he had to find the seven Crystal Stars. Its probably just the mystical star shaped artifacts of the game.
