Dynasty Warriors 8 strikes in July

Dynasty Warriors 8 will release in Europe and North America on July 12 and 16 respectively. The prolific semi-historical brawler series will appear again on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and chances are you already know if you're going to buy it.

More than 70 characters (not to mention like a billion nameless soldiers) will fight across 40 new stages of city and countryside in the Three-Kingdoms-romancing story mode. New "What If?" scenarios will explore alternative historical happenings--like how crazy would it be if Yue Jin died at the battle of Xiaoyao Ford... or maybe if he lived? Our ancient Chinese history is rusty.

The July release will include both English and Japanese voiceovers and subtitles in English, French, and German. We didn't like Dynasty Warriors 7, but if you're still a fan of the series the heck do you care what we think?

Well there's also the adaptation spin off games (like the recent Hokuto no Ken games) and the handheld titles as well...

If your mind wasn't blown enough already, it's called Dynasty Warriors 7 in Japan.

Ah yes, Dynasty Warriors. The Madden of the hack-and-slash genre.
