Eh... the idea is nice, but meh. I checked the articles from "The Koalition" site, and came back pretty unimpressed. The articles feel like they are written by amateurs pretending to be professional journalists rather than the real thing, their focus of the article is very narrow, and didn't present any kind of tangible neutrality, or consideration of other factors. And I don't really consider myself super picky when it comes to stuff like this, but I dunno, reading those articles felt like I was reading some random dude's personal blog rather than a professional site.

Yeah even if wiiu sales are down right now I won't listen to anything that makes claims something is the next dreamcast in the period it isn't getting games in. Heck 3ds had about 8 months of nothing and look at it now. it would be stupid to make large claims like this after only 3 months(PS3 also floundered for its first few years and Playstation is still around). if you wanted to make that statement about anything it would be Vita which has been out for a year and only has one short original game to its name (Gravity Rush) even the other system seller is a port(P4G). Also there is the whole thing of Nintendo having money to last them decades, so no they won't dreamcast themselves, if anyone is going to leave the console race its mircosoft not Nintendo.

If you seriously think Nintendo has more overall money than Microsoft, you need to get a reality check. As misguided MS might seem at the moment, it would take at least two consecutive console flops for them to pull the plug, I bet. And the thing with the Wii is just not the lack of games right now, but with the Next gen consoles finally being announced, and coming up not that far in the future, pretty much any non-hardcore Nintendo fan is probably going to be looking forward to the shiny true next gen, rather than the current graphic quality the Wii U is offering. That's why it keeps being compared to the dreamcast for a reason, both consoles feel like an intermediate step between the old gen while the true next gen arrives. Even so, I agree that it probably won't be enough to make Nintendo go the way of Sega just yet, the bastards have survived pretty bad spots in the past, after all.

I know Mircosoft has alot more money overall but they aren't only a game company which Nintendo is, the reason why I say they would drop out is they don't really seem to have direction right now since they seem more worried about Kinect then pleasing gamers right now. Also the next Playstation doesn't really interest me and I am a huge Sony fan(I even bought Vita day 1) since it lacks backwards compatibility with everything including PSN purcahses, while I can transfer all my Wii stuff to my Wiiu and even play the games I still have without hooking up yet another system to my tv(right now what I have connected is my PS2,PS3 and Wiiu, so it would be kinda irritating to have 3 playstations hooked up at once.). Also I really think the game pad makes up for the lack of super powerful specs, since it offers unique experiences, but only time will tell.

u should go and read ALL the articles bout the PS4. it IS backwards compatible. .... The Vita is great but it just needs a little time more ;)

Soooo, you're just gonna toss away your PS3 and all of your purchased games? Nothing for nothing my friend, but to shrug off the console because it isn't backwards compatible is kinda silly. How much of an inconvenience is it to keep your PS3 hooked up along with whatever new console you choose? So you might have to make room for an extra power cord and HDMI cable, is it really that bad?
