Last Oasis is bringing the survival genre back to life

Last Oasis is a nomadic survival MMO brimming with new ideas and creative solutions to tired survival tropes. For those unfamiliar with the game, it’s set on a post-apocalyptic Earth after a cataclysmic event has halted the planet’s rotation, leaving a world of ice and desert in its wake. One habitable strip of land sits in between these two harsh environments, slowly moving as the planet rotates around the sun. A day now lasts a year and the only way to survive is to keep moving. A clever backstory, and enough to separate it from the crowd of other survival MMOs.

As exclusively revealed on the Future Games Show, the next big addition to Last Oasis is a new map with a volcanic oasis. From cold and barren fields to hardened volcanic rock formations creating natural passages and scorching-hot lava lakes, this is a tough landscape for any nomad with no shoes. As you travel through these vast virgin terrains, you'll get a chance to discover ways to mine obsidian and find rare loot in mysterious man-made stone ruins. You’ll also need to keep an eye out for Killins: aptly named giant winged lizards that inhabit the mountains. All in a day's work for a Last Oasis nomad.

The game combines truly innovative features that allow players to traverse the world on impressive and complex wooden machines called walkers, which are essential to nomad travel and migration. They’re also pretty badass. Combined with epic battles and a player-driven economy to leave your stamp on, Last Oasis is quickly shaping up to be the most interesting survival title we’ve seen in years.

Last Oasis is certainly on our radar (excuse the pun) and brings something fresh and exciting to the otherwise oversaturated survival genre. It's an open-world spectacle, filled with jaw-dropping moments that can only be achieved within the realms of MMOs and we can’t wait to see where Donkey Crew takes us next.

Don’t take our word for it though, go check it out for yourself on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/903950/Last_Oasis/. Fellow nomads can also follow @OasisNomad on Twitter and join the Last Oasis community on Discord.
