Baz Luhrmann will shoot The Great Gatsby in 3D, in his hometown Sydney, Australia.
After extensively workshopping the movie a few months back, it was looking like Luhrmann might walk away from the adaptation but it has now been confirmed that the movie will start pre-production next month.
Rather than shooting on location in New York, Luhrmann will film at Sydney's Fox Studios, where he shot Australia and Moulin Rouge .
The Matrix , Superman Returns and two of the Star Wars prequels have previously been shot at the down-under studio.

Luhrmann's visual flair and eye for choreography are extraordinary, and this should at least offer the opportunity for him to take those skills to new levels
Leonardo DiCaprio will star as the enigmatic Jay Gatsby, Tobey Maguire will play Nick Carraway, and Carey Mulligan has been cast as Daisy Buchanan.
F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel has been filmed several times before, most notably in the Robert Redford-starring version of 1974.
