The best Amazon Prime gaming deals in Australia for 2026: Savings on games and accessories
Amazon has several big sales a year. This is the biggest
Amazon has kicked off its third major sales event of 2026, and it's the biggest one. Amazon Prime Day will from now until the end of July 13, and as is always the case, it's set to have the biggest range and deepest discounts.
During Prime Day, Amazon can usually be relied on to offer steep discounts on peripherals, including gaming headsets, during its sales. Dramatic discounts on consoles or up-to-date gaming laptops doesn't seem especially likely at the moment, though we saw some major PS5 discounts in the second-half of 2025, and even the Switch 2 got a chunk taken off its RRP, despite it newly releasing in June.
Unlike Amazon Big Smile sale or Amazon Mid-Year sale, Prime Day is very much geared towards promoting Amazon's Prime subscription service. So you're probably going to want to be a member, which is free if you use a month-long introductory trial. Just remember to cancel before your first billing.
Amazon Prime | 30-day free trial
You will need an Amazon Prime membership to take part in this year's sale, but the retailer regularly offers free trials to get as many eyes on its site as possible. This 30-day offer will see you all the way through the sale without paying a cent!

Current Amazon PS5 discounts
A nice price on the most recent mainline Assassin's Creed adventure, which after years of fan demand, is set in Japan. According to our reviewer, "its dual protagonists improve on the series' stealth-driven roots and modern RPG leanings, though they're let down by a vague story that fails to make full use of either character."
Gearbox's newest open world looter shooter gets a tidy discount in the months after launch, despite Randy Pitchford suggesting it wouldn't happen. If you're after a 50+ hour RPG sprawl that you can play with friends, this is well worth it at this price.
Arguably last year's greatest RPG gets a decent discount. Its been as low as AU$59 before but this is still worth it, and our review bears that out: "an outstanding visionary debut from Sandfall Interactive", Alan Wen wrote. Definitely a good one to have ahead of the summer holidays.
If you're after a gorgeous crime drama set in early 20th century Italy, you could do much worse than Mafia The Old Country. This one's also good if you're over the trappings of modern blockbuster open world games: sure, there's a big ol' map, but this one keeps things very story focused.
Current Amazon Nintendo discounts
A great price on this discount-shy Nintendo classic, which makes the jump here to Switch 2. It's the same brilliant cosy sim everyone enjoyed on Nintendo's previous console, only this one packs mouse controls, up to 12 players online, and GameChat support. Also, it benefits from the Switch 2's added horsepower.
Amazon has carved 19% off the RRP for this new Pokémon game. It's the first in the series to release natively for Nintendo Switch 2 (though it's coming to the older Switch too) so expect proceedings to be sharper and smoother than the famously ropey Scarlet & Violet. This one ditches turn-based combat for a live-action approach that's reminiscent of the Xenoblade Chronicles games.
Hazelight's two-player odyssey skipped the original Nintendo Switch, but here it is for the Nintendo Switch 2. This co-op game is perfect for the extremely co-op friendly new console.
The wireless Nintendo Switch 2 Pro controller takes after its predecessor, but this time is decked out with new re-mappable GL/GR buttons, and the new 'C' button to initiate the brand-new Switch 2 Game Chat feature. This discount makes it a touch more affordable if you want to give your Joy-Cons a rest.
Having an extra set of Joy-Con 2 controllers can come in handy, especially if you plan to play a lot of local Mario Kart World. This extra pair comes with both the left and right updated Joy-Con 2 controllers, which includes the newly updated HD rumble and mouse controls.
