World of Nintendo

11) Knitted mushrooms

Make your own cuddly mushrooms – or download the free PDF instruction sheet and give it to somebody who’s a ninja with the old knitting needles. Grannies love this stuff, and there isn’t one person in our office who wouldn’t want a woolly shroom on his or her desk (hint hint).

12) Portable Gamecube

This handheld Gamecube cropped up recently online, although we get the feeling we’ve seen it somewhere before. It reminds us how good a handheld ’Cube would be - just imagine playing Wind Waker and Resident Evil 4 while sitting on the toilet.

13) Mario fluffbag

Proving once again that there’s nothing quite like retro Mario when it comes to inspiring arts and crafts, this fuzzy bag features scenes from the NES game. There are full instructions on the web page, and if you’re able to make one like this then you could easily change the image to something from any other spritey game.

14) Taito gifts

Pick up a copy of Space Invaders Extreme or Cooking Mama 2 in Japan and you could be gifted with one of these cool towels or a box of rubbery ingredients. Check with your importer to see if you can get one of these freebies shipped over here.

15) Pikachu wedding veil

Japanese artist Kimiko Yoshida likes to take photos of herself dressed as fantasy brides from different cultures. For her take on the pokemon fan’s dream wedding, she’s made a yellow veil from Pikachu’s pelt. Lovely.
