Will And Testament: Tony Benn review

Skip Kite's portrait of Tony Benn

Before his death this year, Tony Benn filmed this captivating record of his controversial career, from “Britain’s most dangerous man” to national treasure. It’s essentially a feature-length lecture, but Benn’s eloquence and spirit, undimmed to the end, are reason enough to watch – how many octogenarians are “chuffed” to still receive death threats?

Director Skip Kite’s archive footage complements Benn’s insights with a fascinating history of post-war British society, although the silly, symbolic set proves a distraction.
