Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

The last outing for Marvel's fab four, published by Activision, not 2K Games, was a mediocre affair with predictable button-bashing action that barely tested your skills. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer benefits from PS3's bolder, crisper graphics, while the gameplay's been enhanced to test your wit as well as your rapid-finger action.

Above: As you can see, the PS3's processing power isn't being wasted on the Fantastic Four

Just like before you can switch between The Thing, Invisible Woman, Mr. Fantastic and the fiery Human Torch on-the-fly, but now you'll need to know when and where to use their skills to overcome certain obstacles. Need to sneak past some guards? Susan Storm's your girl. Need to smash something heavy? Give Ben Grimm a shout. Need something toasted... well, you get the idea. It's not as difficult as, say, a Mensa initiation test, but it does add variety to some pretty straightforward kill-everything gameplay. Another key addition is the (potential) integration of PS3's Sixaxis technology for the flying bits with the Human Torch.
