The Monks Behind The Mic

You can’t have a great event without an equally exceptional broadcast team, and WePlay Esports sought the best it could find. Kyle Freedman, who has been a part of many WePlay Esports events, makes his return as the WePlay Dragon Temple host. His colleagues on the team include Mr Aquaman, Kitana Prime, and Big D as analysts, while commentary will be handled by Ketchup, Mustard, Mitsuownes, and HBTWarrior.

The Journey So Far

WePlay Dragon Temple began last night, but instead of the main event, fans were greeted with a little side tournament named Poket Klash. Unlike the conventional 1v1 affair, the players were grouped into teams of two before competing in a round-robin Group Stage, followed by a Final Stage. Twenty-five matches later, the duo of DizzyTT and AVirk won Poket Klash won Pocket Team Klash.

Today, we see the event proper beginning at 1 PM CST/ 8 PM CET on the official Twitch Channel. The Playoffs will wrap things up the next day, sending WePlay’s first fighting game event into the annals of history.

About WePlay Esports

WePlay Esports is a media holding company that originated in Ukraine but has since expanded to opening key offices in the USA and China. While a newcomer in the FGC, WePlay has made a name for itself in other esports scenes, like Dota 2 and CS:GO. This year alone, they have held a series of highly acclaimed tournaments such as  WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020 (Dota 2), WePlay! Clutch Island (CS:GO), WeSave! Charity Play (Dota 2), and OMEGA League (Dota 2), to name a few.

With all they have put into making WePlay Dragon Temple a reality, it would appear that they’ve joined the FGC for the long haul.
