The Witness walkthrough & puzzle guide

Red Tree Temple (Monastery)

Opposite the Orange Trees (Shady Trees) and Hedge Maze (Keep) you'll find a walled in temple.

The front gate is locked, but if you follow the wall around to the back you can get inside and open it up.

Slide both door switches to enter the temple.

Completing lines around this planter will open the shutters on the one remaining side.

Hint: Get a better view of the panels outside.

This configuration will allow you to look at the panels outside.

Hint: Choose the right perspective on the panels outside.

Line up the cut-out with the first panel to get the solution.

Hint: Watch out for broken branches.

Consider where those snapped off branches would be.

Hint: Find a different angle to view the solution.

As you can't see through the template on this one, you'll need to view it from the outside then transpose the solution to the panel. This will activate the next panel inside.

Hint: Continue looking through branches.

Line up the branches with the panels to reveal a route through them.

Hint: Switch the rules.

This time you need to follow the route drawn out by the branches when lined up.

Hint: Don't miss the broken branch.

Spot the broken branch on the floor then transpose it into your solution.

You can now head back outside to swipe the lock and activate the laser, unlocking the Monastery trophy.
