Ninja Gaiden Sigma guide

At the very end of this passage is a door with two yellow circle designs on it. Go through it and prepare for another enemy ambush. Been there, done that. There's another door here with many colored jewels adorning it, which is currently locked. Don't worry about it - instead, head right along the street. You'll see a building to your right with an open door with a blue, glowing light hanging above it. You can go in here and clean out the enemy vermin to get another Spirit of the Devils at the end. You'll encounter the Black Spider Clan here for the first time. These ninjas can put some serious hurt on Ryu with speedy attacks and their incendiary shurikens. If you get hit with one of these shurikens, you'll be facing a nice explosion in your face within a few seconds of impact. The best way to deal with them is to take your3rd grade teacher's fire safety advice - stop, drop and roll. There are more of these guys in later levels, so get used to them while they're still slightly less aggressive.

After taking the treasure, backtrack to the alley and continue forwards. Drop back down to the alleyway and continue onwards. To your right, you'll find the actual storefront of Muramasa. You'll be able to buy goods and trade Scarabs here as you would at any Muramasa statue. Buy or upgrade whatever you like here and then keep heading down the alley to reach a gate with green jewels upon it. Dispatch all the troopers here and it will unlock. Open the gate to enter another new area.

There's a small fountain to your left with a Golden Scarab waiting for you in the middle of it. Pick it up and then continue onwards, towards the Great Bridge. There's a small set of stairs to your left - head over in their direction and climb them to face another trio of Black Spider Ninjas. When they're done for, look for a small alley with a thin, tall opening leading upwards. Use repeated wall-jumps to scale up to the top, then use a Wall Run to reach another ledge. Once you're there, examine your surroundings to find a Golden Scarab, a body holding a diary you can read, another treasure chest and a lever you'll need to toggle. This will open the colorful gate you saw earlier in the stage. You know where you need to go now.

Once you've returned to the gate and gone through it, you'll find Han's Bar and some new enemies. These motor-soldiers are a lot like the horse riders you encountered in Chapter 2, with one big difference - if they so much as touch you, they'll break your guard and cause damage. They're also considerably faster, making them a real pain to dodge. Jump attacks and other more evasive attack skills will be the best way to handle them. If worse comes to worse, you can always take one or both out with a well-done Ninpo blast.

That's it for this stage - watch the cutscenes immediately following for some relevant story details and prepare to meet a new player character for the next chapter.
