Jolie feels the pull of Gravity

Angelina Jolie has dropped out of the proposed sequel to Wanted , leading Universal to cut the project loose from their slate.

If you’ve seen the first film, you’re probably wondering how Jolie would have returned for the sequel, anyway. But it looks like we’ll never find out.

Not one to dilly dally, the actress is instead eyeing up a new space thriller called Gravity , to be directed by Children Of Men ’s Alfonso Cuarón.

Vulture report that Jolie would play the part of “the sole surviving human member of a space mission, desperately trying to return home to Earth and her daughter.”

Comparisons to Alien and Moon abound. The script has been written by Cuarón and his son Jonás, and looks to be an almost entirely one-woman show (we wonder if it'll start with Jolie looking haggard in a fake beard...).

Alfonso Cuarón’s other project, The Tourist , was also set to star Jolie alongside Johnny Depp, but looks to have been shelved for now.

Was a sequel really Wanted ? Leaning more towards Gravity ? Speak...
