News of more reshoots on X-Men Origins: Wolverine has been giving us all cause for concern, but now Logan himself – better known as Hugh Jackman – is trying to quell fears of creative tension on the pic.
Writing to Ain’t It Cool, Jackman relayed word that the new filming was simply a scheduling issue.
“I wanted to reach out and let you know that due to scheduling conflicts with certain cast members and location/weather considerations, we had to wait until now to shoot a couple of scenes. Please rest assured that Wolverine will be badass and hopefully meet all of your expectations.”
Online comments
He’s also – apparently – been reading web posts about the film. “I have read a lot of your online comments regarding the footage that we are currently shooting and I share your passion for the Wolverine character and the movie - I owe it all to you guys!”
Rumours have persisted for a while now that not all was calm aboard the good ship Wolverine – there were a few mutterings about director Gavin Hood clashing with execs at Fox.
So is Jackman's message sincere - or is he being guided by a nervy studio marketing dept?
We’ll just have to wait and see how it turns out (“badass” or not) when it opens in May...
