After emerging from a mysterious portal, the vampire Kado Thorne has set up home on the island in Fortnite Season 4 and installed several luxury properties, including Sanguine Suites, Relentless Retreat, and Eclipsed Estate. If you delve beyond the fancy facades of these locations you'll find heavily protected bases, with security systems such as laser grids and camera to defeat in addition to the armed guards on patrol. However, if you can make your way inside, then you have a chance to get your hand's on the prized possessions in Kado Thorne's collection to give yourself a competitive advantage.

As usual for a fresh season, there have been various Fortnite new weapons added as well as some returning from the vault. The more traditional additions include the Infiltrator Pump Shotgun, the Scoped Burst SMG, and the Twin Mag Assault Rifle, with the latter featuring a flippable mag for faster reloading every alternate reload. However, there are also new innovations such as the Business Turret, which converts from a briefcase to lock on to and fire at any nearby enemies, and the Rocket Ram that can launch you through the air or straight through walls to create another route.

Another thing we've come to expect from the start of a new season is fresh set of Fortnite Augments, so you can try out some different perks and see how they benefit you in the battle royale. In addition to the 12 returning Augments from last season we have six new ones, including On The Go Bag that gives you a heist item from every container you open, and Fast Fisher to swim faster and immediately loot fishing spots by simply swimming though them.

You can now earn Survivor Medals for outlasting opponents

Fortnite Survivor Medals are a completely new addition in Season 4, and are earned by completing Survivor Quests in either Battle Royale or Zero Build modes. These involve outlasting a certain number of opponents while also hitting a target of eliminations, and the challenges get progressively harder as you rise through the ranks. Work your way up and you can unlock the Prized Llama Back Bling, to show off your survivor skills to other players.

The Fortnite Season 4 Battle Pass is full of new outfits

The Fortnite Season 4 battle pass introduces a host of new outfits you can unlock, including main vampire baddie Kado Thorne, hesit team leader Nolan Chance, and the slightly upsettingly buff Fish Thicc who is "more ripped than the tide." Later in the season there will also be a series of challenges released to unlock Ahsoka Tano, star of the recently released Star Wars miniseries.
