The new season, called The Nexus War sees MArvel super heroes arrive on Fortnite island preparing to fight Galaxtus. Iron Man, Storm, Groot, Mystique, Thor, Dr Doom and She-Hulk are all in the game, bringing with them a range of outfits, weapons and cosmetics. The game’s also got a range of Marvel flavored locations and additions to the map, which we’ll get to in a moment.

2. Spawn Island is now a SHEILD Helicarrier

Forget boring old islands. Now when you wait for a match you’ll be doing it on a helicarrier. You can run around checking out the upper decks or use thermal updrafts to glide above it all and check it out from on high. You’ll even get a quinjet escort on the battle bus when it’s finally time to fight.

3. There’s a new gun, the Stark Industries Energy Rifle

There’s a new uncommon weapon this season, the Stark Industries Energy rifle. It’s a high powered long-mid ranged rifle with a slow semi automatic fire rate that transforms when you aim down sight. The only downside if you’ll have to fight Stark robots at crashed Quinjet sites to get one.

4. There are new superhero Mystic Weapons

This season’s Mystic Weapons are inspired by each of the superheroes in the game. For example Groot’s mystic weapon allows you to put yourself inside of a branched ball, allowing you to flee the scene swiftly. Doctor Doom’s fists will shoot plasma at your enemies, damaging them every second and you’ll never run out of ammo. You can also hurl an energy bomb although that has a hefty cool down.

5. There are Quinjet Patrol landing sites and Stark Supply Drones to find

As well as getting the Stark Energy Rifle from the Stark Robots patrolling Fortnite Quinjet Patrol landing sites you’ll also see new loot drones flying around the area. If you can fight of the robots and other players long enough to top down one you’ll be able grab some decent weaponry and maybe some hero abilities. Just look out for the smoke as you drop in to find the crash sites.

5. Pleasant Park is now Doom’s Domain

One of the more prominent additions to the map is Doom’s Domain, which has taken over Pleasant Park. Here you will find Doctor Doom appearing as a mini-boss. Down him and you’ll be able to pick up his gauntlets which let you fire plasma from his hands, as well as access his vault.

Fortnite V-Bucks

If you want to pick up the Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 Battle Pass to unlock all of the additional rewards it provides, you'll need to spend 950 V-Bucks. The smallest bundle of V-Bucks is 1,000 that previously cost $9.99 / £7.99 but has now been reduced to $7.99 / £6.49, which is all you need to unlock the Battle Pass. You can also gift the Battle Pass to a friend for $9.49 / £7.49 (updated price TBC), so if you really don't want to use V-Bucks – or just want to give someone a helping hand – then you can work this out with a buddy instead.

If you want to boost your start and get 25 Tiers of the Battle Pass included, you can upgrade and get the Battle Bundle, which costs 2,800 V-Bucks. That previously set you back $24.99 / £19.99 but now costs $19.99 / £15.99 for the handily packaged 2,500 (+300 free) V-Buck bundle, which is exactly how much you'll need to get a head start.

Of course, if you're wondering how to get free Fortnite V-Bucks, you can earn them throughout the current season, so just make sure that you've got 950 in the bank by the time the end of Chapter 2 Season 3 rolls around.
