The world's first Fallout haunted house attraction has been revealed for this year's Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Orlando and Hollywood, alongside an intriguing Five Nights at Freddy's experience.

The Fallout haunted house opens on August 29 at Universal Orlando Resort and on September 4 at Universal Studios Hollywood, it will be based on Prime Video’s TV series Fallout.

Fans will begin their experience inside Vault 33, accompanying Lucy MacLean as she attempts to flee a massacre. The gruesome adventure continues outside the vault into the treacherous wasteland of Filly, giving Fallout fans the opportunity to explore recognisable locations such as Super Duper Mart as they come face-to-face with Ghouls, Scavengers and mutated RAD roaches.

Guests brave enough to take this terrifying trip to Fallout’s nuclear wasteland are encouraged to keep their eyes peeled for a Pip-Boy and other small references scattered throughout the experience. But they won’t need to look so hard to spot Maximus clad in his imposing T-60 power armor delivering a thrilling battle showdown finale to the Fallout haunted house.

While significantly less information has been revealed about the Five Nights at Freddy’s experience that’s also coming to HHN Orlando and Hollywood, it’s confirmed to be based on the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie.

Notably, the attraction has not yet been described by Universal as a haunted house, which raises questions as to what kind of FNAF attraction we could be seeing at Halloween Horror Nights in 2025.

Following the billion-dollar success of the first Super Mario Bros. Movie, series owner Nintendo and animation studio Illumination have announced another film "based on the world of Super Mario Bros."

"We are now creating a new animated film based on the world of Super Mario Bros," series creator Shigeru Miyamoto announces on Nintendo's Twitter. "This film is planned for release in theaters on April 3rd, 2026 in the US and many other markets, and throughout the month of April in other territories."

“We'll let you know the details once we’re ready to share more," he continues. "This time too, the staff at Illumination and Nintendo are working together. We're thinking about broadening Mario's world further, and it'll have a bright and fun story."

Both companies curiously stop short of calling the follow-up a sequel, though the mention of "broadening Mario's world" certainly implies that the mustachioed plumber might still be in the front seat. But Nintendo is no stranger to spotlighting other characters in the Mushroom Kingdom for a solo adventure, between Luigi's Mansion, Yoshi's Island, or the upcoming Princess Peach game. 

Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri and Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto return as producers, according to Nintendo's announcement post. Aaron Horvath and Micheal Jelenic are back in the director's chair(s). And Matthew Fogel is once again penning the screenplay. 

Nintendo writes that it will "continue its efforts to produce unique entertainment and deliver it to as many people as possible." The company is reportedly gearing up to launch its Nintendo Switch successor next year, along with producing an upcoming Legend of Zelda live-action film in collaboration with Sony. 

Jack Black recently defended the Super Mario Movie against negative reviews while teasing his upcoming role in the Minecraft film.

Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights is a haven for horror enthusiasts and pop culture aficionados, and this year's star attraction, "The Last of Us," brings the post-pandemic nightmares of the video game to life in terrifying fashion. 

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the 2013 game by Naughty Dog, Universal Studios has created a walk-through haunted house that's simultaneously a frightening experience and a faithful love letter to the game.

Welcome to hell

A haunting tone is set as guests wait outside the giant Universal soundstage adorned with The Last of Us artwork, whilst Gustavo Santaolalla’s solemnly beautiful theme for the game plays in the background.

Inside, the attraction immediately places guests into the action of the Pittsburgh Quarantine Zone, where we must navigate our way around Joel and Ellie’s crashed truck as human raiders leap out to catch us off-guard. This scene is where we are treated to our first glimpse of the actor who plays Joel, who’s make-up and costuming are impressively detailed and convincing. He acts out the all-new dialogue provided by the game's original voice actor Troy Baker and it really does feel like the dystopian world of The Last of Us is unfolding before your eyes.

The heart-pounding highlight of this attraction is undoubtedly encountering the Infected. As you journey through dark immersive sets of the devastated city, Runners and Clickers keep you in a perpetual state of anxiety. Cleverly, the infected stages progress as you walk through the haunted house, building a tension where behind every corner hides a new danger.

As standard, a Halloween Horror Nights haunted house never skimps on jump scares, and "The Last of Us" is no exception - but there’s a little more depth to the frights in this attraction when compared to the other 9 Haunted Houses on offer this year. The bleak atmosphere and desperate struggles of Joel and Ellie put humanity into the horror by conveying survival in a hopeless environment. Make no mistake, you will leap out of your skin when the Clickers appear, but it’s the attraction's unyielding sombre tone that will continue to haunt you long after you’ve run screaming out the exit.

Fans of the game will appreciate Universal’s attention to detail in recreating the game's post-apocalyptic environments. Subtle references and Easter eggs are sprinkled throughout, from familiar notes and drawings to iconic in-game moments recreated with impressive accuracy. The gamer in me longed to linger in each room and admire the beautiful sets, but the human in me could not resist the survival instinct to run away from the petrifying Bloaters that surrounded.

Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights' "The Last of Us" is a must-visit for fans of the game and the series, but even newcomers will appreciate the sheer craftsmanship that went into bringing this virtual nightmare to life. Whether you're dodging Infected or marvelling at the fungus-covered tunnels, this attraction is a testament to the power of video games to inspire and terrify. Just be prepared to leave with your survival instincts on high alert.

Spooky season is almost upon us – for some it’s already here – and that means the doors to Universal's Halloween Horror Nights will soon re-open. America’s premier Halloween celebration, HHN has been running for 32 years now, transforming Universal theme parks into a terrifying playground by night, filled with haunted houses and areas called 'scare zones' that guests must navigate through.

This year Universal Orlando will feature their biggest celebration ever with 10 houses, five scare zones, a live show, specially-themed food, stores, and pop-up activations across the entire resort. SFX dared to spend an evening with Lora Sauls, a member of the creative development team at Universal Orlando Resort, to find out what lurks behind the corners at Halloween Horror Nights this year.

The Exorcist

The Exorcist: Believer haunted house marks the first time Halloween Horror Nights has featured a film so far in advance, with it being seven weeks before theatrical release. Described as “a living trailer”, it will also feature new variations of demons inspired by the movie as well as “disgusting moments and smells”…

The Last Of Us

The haunted house based on The Last Of Us: Part One was inspired by the Pittsburgh scenes from the game at the request of creators Neil Druckmann and Naughty Dog. One scene has moments where guests “could be attacked by any of the infected, the runners, the clickers, the stalkers, the bloaters, and hunters.” As previously reported on GamesRadar+, original voice actors Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson have returned to voice all-new dialogue for the attraction.

Universal Monsters: Unmasked

Universal Monsters: Unmasked opens with a view of old Paris over a bridge – guests enter the sewers beneath the Paris Opera House below this bridge, where they’ll encounter The Phantom of the Opera, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Invisible Man, as well as Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. A new giant-size version of Mr Hyde, standing at around 7ft, has been created especially for the haunted house. The Phantom of the Opera is seeking to skin the faces of guests to cover his own scars.

Chucky

Chucky: Ultimate Kill Count, features 250 life-size Chucky dolls, a fully animatronic version, and an eight-foot possessed Chucky. All-new material has been recorded by original Chucky actor Brad Douriff. While the house is inspired by the TV series, it will also feature kills inspired by the whole Child’s Play franchise. There will also be a pop-up experience, Chucky’s Twisted Playground, for Universal hotel guests at Cabana Bay. There are various different Halloween-themed activations at seven hotel resorts this year – more than ever before.

Original houses

There are also five original content houses, created by the team at Universal. Duelling Dragons: Choose Thy Fate is based on the popular Islands of Adventure roller coaster (1999-2010) and more specifically the queue line for the attraction – guests will experience one of four different endings to this haunted house. 

The Darkest Deal – about a musician making a pact with the devil – features an original blues score by Charles Gray, VP of Art & Design at Universal Orlando, as he’s a big music fan.

Yeti: Campground Kills, which features a family of yeti including a baby, is this year’s ‘dark humour’ haunted house. Bloodmoon: Dark Offerings will be the haunted house that features a lot of veteran ‘scare actors’ this year. This is also a house that offers a ‘scenic’ experience like last year’s critically acclaimed Dead Man’s Pier: Winter’s Wake.

Podcast

This year's series of HHN “Haunted Tales” podcast stories – original audio dramas giving background to various houses and scare zones – are their longest yet.

Dr. Oddfellow

Although he’s previously never been seen before, Dr. Oddfellow is officially the icon for Halloween Horror Nights 2023 – his story is also tied to another famous HHN icon, Jack The Clown. It’s revealed in Dr. Oddfellow’s Twisted Origin that Jack received immortality by scratching Oddfellow’s eye (before being placed in a box, presumed dead). Dr. Oddfellow uses zodiac signs to suck power from humans, fueling his immortality. The five original scare zones throughout the park are all linked to Dr. Oddfellow and his house.

Stranger Things

The Stranger Things haunted house is based on season four and guests can expect to see Vecna “around every corner”, with the villain showing up over 10 times throughout the experience. The Duffer Brothers, who worked closely with Universal on the attraction, were really happy that the team leaned into Vecna’s curse, writing: “This is perfect. Thank you for understanding what we did.” 

The Universal Orlando special effects makeup designers were part of the Emmy award-winning team that created Vecna for the TV series, so HHN were able to lean into their expertise to create full masks and bodysuits. 

Guests will walk through Eddie’s trailer and see him and Dustin fight off Demobats, as well as visit the Hawkins lab, see One created, and enter the Upside Down. 

Organisers are keeping tight-lipped about whether fans will hear Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush. They said: “We hope to give the fans everything they want to see and hear…”

Breaking records

This year’s run is the longest in the history of the event – a record-breaking 48 nights where the park will be open until 2am.

Next year...

Planning for Halloween Horror Nights 2024 started on 5 July this year – an entire original house has already been planned out.

The original actors who portrayed Joel and Ellie in The Last of Us video games are reprising the roles for this year's Halloween Horror Nights attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood and Orlando.

We got word of The Last of Us Halloween Horror Nights theme park attraction in June, but it wasn't until now that we learned both Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson voiced lines for the attraction. Speaking to our sister publication SFX Magazine, Universal Orlando's Lora Sauls explained some of the ways the upcoming attraction stays true to the source material, not least of which the inclusion of the original performers.

"We got to use the voiceover actors from the video game," Sauls said. "We did voiceover recordings with them and they re-recorded our entire dialogue for our haunted house. So we were very, very excited to work with both Troy and Ashley on the re-recording of our haunted house dialogue."

In addition to getting Baker and Johnson to record dialogue, Universal Studios worked directly with Naughty Dog and Neil Druckmann, who directed both The Last of Us games and is a co-creator and co-writer on The Last of Us TV adaptation. Sauls went on to explain that Druckmann specifically requested a popular location from the first game to be used as a setting for the haunted house.

"When working with Neil and team, they actually said to us, 'can we lean into the Pittsburgh part of the first video game?' And we were like, 'sure.' We later found out that that graphic in the Pittsburgh area got so many accolades online, [and] we understood why Neil wanted us to lean into Pittsburgh."

Fans of The Last of Us heading to Universal Studios this Halloween can also expect neat little details like a "weapons table" that looks like where you'd pick up gear in the games, and masks for Clickers and Bloaters "that are absolutely beautiful and identical to what you saw in that video game."

Tickets for the attraction are on sale now at Universal Studios Hollywood, with doors set to open at Universal Orlando starting Friday, September 1, and at Universal Studios Hollywood beginning Thursday, September 7. The fun lasts until November 4 in Orlando and until October 31 in Hollywood.

The Exorcist: Believer is joining The Last of Us and Stranger Things as one of the big attractions in this year's Halloween Horror Nights from Universal Studios.

"Angela. Katherine. Two missing girls have been found with no memory of what happened to them," reads the attraction's official blurb. "But wherever they went, the ultimate evil has returned with them. Witness a chilling chain of events as you enter the most terrifying scenes from the new Blumhouse film."

The trailer for The Exorcist: Believer haunted house shows an unassuming man going for a run when he come across some sort of cursed doll, which sends him into a terrifying vision where he's the apparently unwitting subject of a violent exorcism. One can only imagine the theme park will have similar themes, which is unsettling to say the least.

For the uninitiated, Halloween Horror Nights is an annual event put together by Universal Studios consisting of various themed haunted house attractions. This year's showing runs on select nights at Universal Orlando from Friday, September 1 through Saturday, November 4, and at Universal Studios Hollywood from Thursday, September 7 through Tuesday, October 31.

The company has been announcing new haunted houses at a steady clip. We've known about The Last of Us attraction, which sees you team up with Ellie and Joel to tackle the undead apocalypse together, and the Stranger Things haunted house, which plunges theme park go-ers into the Upside Down, and now one of horror film's most iconic IPs is joining the roster along with another newly announced ride based on Chucky and one more based on the classic Universal Monsters.

In all, 2023's Halloween Horror Nights includes the aforementioned attractions as well as Dr. Oddfellow's Twisted Origins, Dueling Dragons: Choose Thy Fate, YETI: Campground Kills, The Darkest Deal, and Bleed for the Blood Moon.

The Exorcist: Believer hits theaters October 13.

The Last of Us is coming to life as a Universal Studios haunted house as part of the theme park's Halloween Horror Nights 2023 event.

The Last of Us-themed haunted house will feature everything you love and hate about Naughty Dog's post-pandemic universe, including Joel, Ellie, Clickers, Runners, Stalkers, Hunters, Raiders, "and more."

"As a massive fan – and frequent attendee – of Halloween Horror Nights, we are honored to have The Last of Us included in this year's lineup," said Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann. "It has been an incredible thrill for us at Naughty Dog to collaborate with Universal, bringing the world of the game to life, focusing on even the tiniest details that our fans know so well."

Druckmann added that you'll get to "team up with Joel and Ellie," while the official press release says you'll "follow in the footsteps" of the video game protagonists. It's unclear exactly how it'll all play out at the moment, but you can expect a labyrinthian recreation of classic locations from the games including the Pittsburgh Quarantine Zone, the desolate Hotel Grand, and plenty of "dark and dank tunnels."

Just so we're clear, The Last of Us Universal Studios attraction is specifically inspired by the PlayStation game and not the HBO TV adaptation - not that there's a huge distinction in terms of characters and the general story, but it's worth noting in case you were expecting to squad up with Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey.

Tickets for the attraction are on sale now at Universal Studios Hollywood, with doors set to open at Universal Orlando starting Friday, September 1, and at Universal Studios Hollywood beginning Thursday, September 7.

After The Super Mario Bros. Movie became the biggest video game movie of all time, it looks like Nintendo and Universal Studios are collaborating on a new adaptation – The Legend of Zelda franchise is reportedly getting the big-screen treatment next.

"I’m told that Universal is, in fact, closing a 'big deal' with the Nintendo corporation for The Legend of Zelda," journalist Jeff Sneider reported on The Hot Mic podcast. "Zelda is looking like the next big Illumination-Nintendo franchise, which we were all sort of expecting. I’m told that is happening."

It makes sense for Nintendo and Universal to pursue a continuing partnership – The Super Mario Bros. Movie made $1.3 billion worldwide, making it the highest-grossing movie of 2023 so far, and the movie also had the highest opening weekend at the box office of any animated movie. 

The movie had an all-star voice cast, including Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, and Jack Black as Bowser, so it's likely we can expect a similarly A-list cohort for a potential Zelda movie. 

The video game franchise follows the adventures of Link, an elf-like Hylian, and Princess Zelda as they strive to protect their kingdom of Hyrule from the evil warlord Ganon. The original Legend of Zelda game was released in 1986 and, since then, there have been 19 games in the series, with the most recent, Tears of the Kingdom released this year.

Hollywood's Super Nintendo World has welcomed in a handful of press and theme park enthusiasts, giving us our first official peek at the Nintendo-themed attraction.

Attractions Magazine was one of the attendees invited to spend some time at the park, the first Super Nintendo World attraction to open outside of Japan. You can see some of the sights in the video below:

Vice president of Universal Creative, Jon Corfino, reminded visitors that the Hollywood attraction doesn't feature Japan's Yoshi ride, but did confirm that "pound-for-pound, you’re gonna get the same game experience" as the Japanese park.

“In terms of the ride itself, [there is] no difference," Corfino said (thanks, VGC). 

"In terms of how we had to adapt some of the queue lines, it’s only different in that the configuration is different. They still have the same areas; they’re just laid out a little bit differently because the space is different."

Attractions Magazine said it was "left with a very positive impression of what [it had] seen so far" at the attraction, adding: "Remarkable visual design aside, the real emphasis here seems to be on play and exploration, and that to me has always been what both video games and theme parks are all about – making Nintendo and Universal Studios a perfect match."

Super Nintendo World officially opens on February 17, 2023, although Annual Passholders get early access and can visit from January 29.

Nintendo confirmed that Super Nintendo World was coming to the US on last year's Mario Day (March 10 / "Mar10"), teasing that visitors to the park could play real-life versions of their favourite Nintendo games. 

According to the official statement, the park will be "a visual spectacle of vibrant colors and architectural ingenuity located within a newly expanded area of the theme park, featuring a groundbreaking ride and interactive areas, to be enjoyed by the whole family". It adds, "Themed shopping and dining will enhance the entire experience".

Super Nintendo World officially opens next year on February 17, 2023.

The new opening date for the new Universal Studios Hollywood was announced just earlier today in the trailer below. The Super Nintendo World in Hollywood will boast Peach's Mushroom Kingdom and Bower's imposing castle, complete with moving and interactive parts like Thwomp Blocks. 

The headline feature for the theme park is Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge. This ride looks like it incorporates augmented reality features to manipulate what the user is seeing, while they're racing around a course you'd find in any Mario Kart game, scoring points as they go to beat the opposing team.

There's also meet and greet with Mario, Luigi, and Peach, and the Toadstool Cafe. The menu options include Toadstool Cheesy Garlic Knots, Super Mushroom Soup, Piranha Plant Caprese, Mario Bacon Cheeseburger, Luigi Pesto Chicken Burger, ? Block Tiramisu and Princess Peach Cupcake, all apparently served by Chef Toad.

If you're a little confused, this is the long-awaited overseas expansion from Nintendo's Japan-based Super Nintendo World. The theme park originally opened in 2021, after several COVID-19-related delays, and has since expanded with a new Donkey Kong-themed area, making the entire theme park roughly 70% bigger than before.

Right now, there's nothing to suggest Super Nintendo World in Hollywood will also receive the Donkey Kong expansion. Keep in mind that Universal Studios is still constructing another Super Nintendo World theme park over in Florida, which we don't have an opening date for right now.

Super Nintendo World is coming to the US next year.

Yesterday was Mario Day, and this year, the annual event celebrating the beloved mascot brought with it some exciting Nintendo news. In a tweet, Universal Studios Hollywood announced that it will be opening Super Nintendo World in 2023.

Currently under construction in LA, Super Nintendo World lets visitors play real-life versions of their favourite Nintendo games. According to the official statement, the park will be "a visual spectacle of vibrant colors and architectural ingenuity located within a newly expanded area of the theme park, featuring a groundbreaking ride and interactive areas, to be enjoyed by the whole family". It adds, "Themed shopping and dining will enhance the entire experience".

To celebrate the opening of Super Nintendo World, Universal Studios Hollywood will be adding all kinds of Nintendo-themed merchandise to purchase at the park, including Mario and Luigi themed clothing, hats and a selection of various-sized plush characters, including Yoshi and Bowser.

This isn't the only Super Nintendo World to be opening stateside. In 2020, Universal Studios Orlando announced that it's adding Super Nintendo World as part of its 'Epic Universe' attraction.

The first Super Nintendo World opened to rave reviews at Universal Studios Japan in 2021. Recently, Nintendo unveiled it's getting a Donkey Kong expansion. Scheduled to open in 2024, this will reportedly make the theme park 70% bigger.

Super Nintendo World construction is well underway at Universal Studios Hollywood, and fans are peeking in to see the progress on the project so far.

Super Nintendo World finally opened in Japan last month after extended delays (it was originally set to open in time for the Tokyo Olympics last summer, but the pandemic ensured exactly neither of those things actually happened). The Osaka location was always meant to be the first of many and attendees can now plainly see that Universal is at work on its Hollywood counterpart.

As spotted by Nintendo Life, a video from theme park enthusiast and YouTuber jsland shows you just about everything you could see of the LA Super Nintendo World location without throwing your hat at a construction worker and piloting their body into the off-limits areas (and you shouldn't do that because it's rude). Skip to 7:21 in the video when jsland zooms into the park from high up and off in the distance, breaking down which parts of the attraction already have their framing up and what's likely to go where.

He also heads into the park proper for a closer look at the elements which are already visible from the outside, which at this point are mostly rolling green hills studded with some of those, uh, extra colorful spotted hills? The Mushroom Kingdom has weird geography, I don't know what to call them.

Universal Parks and Resorts hasn't yet set an opening date for the Universal Studios Hollywood Super Nintendo World, but hopefully it won't suffer the same delays that have reportedly pushed the Orlando location's opening back to 2025. 

Florida’s own Super Nintendo World, which is currently under construction for Universal Studios Orlando, has reportedly postponed its opening day to 2025 due to the delay caused by the pandemic.

Similar to the delay with Super Nintendo World in Osaka, which also had to push back its opening due to COVID-19, Universal has stated that they need a few months to catch up after development was stopped in July 2020, according to VGC.

This hasn’t halted all Mario theme-park-related activities though, as the “smaller” version of Super Nintendo World - which is currently in production in Hollywood - is apparently still progressing and is expected to be completed within the next couple of years. 

Universal Orlando’s Super Nintendo World is set to belong in the Epic Universe section of the theme park, which according to CNBC: “will be the first park Universal has built since 1999”, and will be built “on a 750-acre plot of land just a few miles from the existing resort.” According to the same report, other Universal IPs expected to join Mario and friends in the Epic Universe include classic monsters and potentially Minions. 

Other than a video filmed from outside of the under-construction park, little is known about what the US’ Super Nintendo Worlds will feature. However, if Japan's Universal Studios park is anything to go by, fans can expect an array of Super Mario-themed rides, interactive attractions, cafes, and gift shops. 

There are also several rumours that Donkey Kong may be making his way to Osaka’s Super Nintendo World, as data miners found traces of the barrel-throwing gorilla in the Universal guest app.

The Super Nintendo World theme park is making its way stateside, Universal Studios parent company Comcast has announced.

The park will soon begin construction at Universal Studio Orlando's upcoming 'Epic Universe' attraction, WESH reports (via IGN). This should be exciting news to anyone who's been enviously watching trailers for Super Nintendo World Osaka. We're happy to report that in just a couple of short years, Nintendo fans in the states can jump into the park's interactive world without having to book a flight to Japan.

We've known of plans for Nintendo to expand the theme park to Universal Studios Hollywood, Orlando, and Singapore, but this is the first official announcement from Comcast. The first Super Nintendo World attraction is currently under construction at Universal Studios Osaka and scheduled for a Summer 2020 launch. On top of enjoying all sorts of Nintendo-themed rides, it was recently revealed that visitors will use "Power Up Bands," which connect to an official app to "make you feel like part of the game world."

Comcast confirmed the news during their Q4 earnings call, expressing their confidence in Nintendo as a brand that could drive traffic to their parks. "I think the next big thing on the horizon is Nintendo. Nintendo, based on our research is one of the biggest potential drivers of attendance that you could have of any kind of I. P. It's up there with Harry Potter," an executive said.

OK, we were already excited but Nintendo has revealed Super Nintendo World on Twitter and it might be time to start planning a 2020 trip to Universal Studios in Osaka. Thankfully it was confirmed last month that Nintendo sections will be coming to both Universal Studios in California and Florida as well as the Japanese park. Osaka might be the first one that opens though, as it's been confirmed to be ready in time for the 2020 Olympics. 

Just look at that image. Hordes of theme park goers walking through pipes... mushroom houses... Peach's castle overseeing proceedings. This was always going to be impressive and of course this is just an artists impression but just look at it and this is all before a single ride is revealed.

Nintendo has already announced that guests will "feel like they are playing inside their favourite games" and given the success of Universal's Wizarding World of Harry Potter, clearly no expense is being spared here. Continuing the Jurassic Park references, hopefully the piranha plants won't eat the tourists. If you can't wait until 2020, fill the next five minutes with our ideas for the rides that Nintendo's theme park needs.

And it's not all just jump scares - although there's plenty of that - there's actual props from the TV show and plenty for fans to enjoy. Yep, that includes a perfect recreation of the infamous hospital doors and everyone's favourite walker, Bicycle Girl. Enjoy all the fear from behind a screen in the video above and prepare for some slight spoilers (and screaming).

Things have been very quiet since last year's announcement that Nintendo is working with Universal Studios to bring its worlds and characters to life in theme park form. However a report from Japanese news site Sankei has revealed that the first Nintendo theme park area will be added to Universal Studios Japan, and open in 2020 to coincide with the hosting of the Olympic games.

The area will cost a whopping $365 million, a similar investment to The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter section of the Osaka-based park. It's reported to largely focus on Mario - understandable given his global mascot status - but it would seem to remiss not to involve other characters too. Perhaps Universal should look at our guide to building the ultimate Nintendo theme park.

In terms of location in the park, the area above is apparently only used as an events space but that's going to change fast. There's no news yet of Nintendo additions to theme parks outside of Japan but the initial announcement last year also talked about Universal's Orlando park so it probably won't be too long before we hear of Mario related fun.
