I love a good decoration, but sometimes life gets in the way. Halloween sweaters make it easy to get into the spirit (hah) of things even when you're slammed for time, and that's why they're usually high on my wishlist around this time of year.

While there are some great options out there across all kinds of fandoms (I have my eye on a Gengar cardigan from the Pokemon Halloween lineup, for example), I'm always drawn to the Disney Store's Spirit Jerseys. Besides having it down pat in the looks department, I usually find that they're tastefully done regardless of whether it's for Star Wars, Christmas, or a beloved theme park ride. This rather fetching 'Happy Halloween' sweater is a good example; it captures the cute-n-spooky vibe I'm a fan of, but isn't over the top with branding. It's the kind of design you might not realize is Disney related unless you look closely.

I tend to find that they're very well made, too; I've had a few over the years, and the designs and lettering don't tend to be cheaply printed on. Indeed, the embossed lettering you often find along the back has survived lots of wear and washes without coming away or losing their luster.

While they're a bit thinner than some will like, that suits me just fine; if you live in a warmer part of the world or burn hot like I do, it'll take the chill off without stifling you.

This isn't the only Spirit Jersey currently floating around, of course. You can get a glow-in-the-dark Haunted Mansion design via Disney Store US or Disney Store UK, and the Christmas sweaters have just dropped, for example.

"The Marleys were dead, to begin with." Once Gonzo has recited those words, you know that it's the holidays. Re-watching The Muppets Christmas Carol every year and watching a young Michael Caine grumpily frolic around with felt-covered puppets has become a family tradition, and there are only 66 days until I get to do it all over again.

Another tradition amongst my loved ones is being disappointed by the lack of Christmas Carol merchandise that we're able to gift each other, but the Disney Store has heard our pleas. The US storefront has rolled out a ton of new Muppets Christmas Carol goodies, including a new Loungefly backpack starring Gonzo and Rizzo the Rat, a series of plushies, and a light-up decoration for the tree with Kermit and Miss Piggy dressed in their best Mr and Mrs Cratchit garb. There's even a blind box that gives you the chance to grab one of six themed Muppets tree ornaments, because of course there is.

This new powder of collectibles is available to order now as part of 'Disney Store Private Access', a membership that allows fans access to merch ahead of the general public. There's no fee to sign up, and I highly recommend you do, as these are bound to sell out fast once they're available to all Muppets fans on October 26. Honestly, had they been available at Disney UK, I'd order every single item, as I know for a fact that a tiny plush Robert and Jacob Marley would go down well this holiday season, no matter who I gifted them to.

Just when I think I've seen it all, someone goes and turns a chicken into a Lego Millennium Falcon.

More specifically, they've created the galaxy's fastest hunk of junk using a Moana Lego Hehei set (which is adorably google-eyed and often available for less than $30 at Amazon). Fan Switz399 took to reddit with their creation, and it's... pretty good, actually? Yes, it may look a bit more floral than Han Solo's vessel traditionally is due to the flowers on Heihei's base. But even so, it's unmistakeably the scruffy nerf herder's ship. Most impressive of all is the fact that they apparently used every single piece in the box. Waste not, want not, I suppose.

Besides the shape being spot on (including the tricky cockpit which sticks out at an odd angle), this build manages to capture small but easily-missed details like the circular grills at the back and the cones on either side of the craft. There's even a bud standing in for the radar dish, not to mention a spanner for the gun turret in the middle.

As you may be able to tell from the thread title "Will it Falcon," turning the best Lego sets available (the more bizarre, the better) into this Star Wars icon is a long-running trend. As an example, someone proved that you can turn a Lego pumpkin into the Millennium Falcon a couple of months ago. While Heihei is a leftfield choice, it's in good company as a result.

Don't fancy going to all that fuss for your own version? Don't worry, there's an official Lego Millennium Falcon of a similar size that typically sells for a lot less than its asking price on Amazon. It may not be made up of flowers and all the colors of the rainbow, but I'd say it's quite a looker too.

See those Platinum Points you've been collecting on your Nintendo Switch 2? Those can be spent on far more than monthly icons. The official Nintendo UK online store is still running a rewards program where you can exchange all those digital shiny coins for something physical instead, and I'd recommend you pick up the new Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Acrylic Magnet Set.

By spending 500 points (via Nintendo) you'll receive a set of four magnetic replicas of the Ribeira Winds, Megaria's Beacon, House Lamine and, my personal favorite, the Rose Tempest banner. They're not the most elaborate rewards you can grab right now, but with Fire Emblem merch being such a rarity, I'd recommend you pick these up while there's any stock left. Points aside, they're essentially neat little freebies for your fridge.

Fire Emblem merch is not easy to get ahold of in 2026. Even though Fortune's Weave is new on the scene, there isn't a huge selection out there for fans, or at least, a huge affordable selection. The older amiibo still exist, starting from £12.99 at Nintendo, so at least that's something. But outside of those old NFC collectibles and a small selection of Good Smile Company Pop-up Parade figures, everything else requires a hefty amount of cash, particularly if you're looking at getting representation of anyone outside of Three Houses.

That's why I highly recommend you use your points to claim this set of magnets. Not only are they free, but they're some of the only Fortune's Weave merch available in the UK right now. If you're as obsessed with the new game as I am, that makes it worth it for that fact alone. They also happen to look far better in person, which I can attest to, as I have them in my possession, and I'm glad I used 800 of my precious points to claim them.

Being just small pieces of acrylic with imagery of Cai, Theodora, Dietrich, and Leda's clan banners stuck on top, I suspected they'd be a bit lackluster. However, the art is pretty vibrant, and they look the part when placed on my Switch 2 gaming shelf, amongst the rest of my hastily claimed Nintendo Reward goodies. I'd much rather have a 1/7 scale figure of Fortuna sitting there, but these still make do.

US friends - I recommend checking what's available at Nintendo US today. While I can't see the Fortune's Weave magnets, I recommend spending your points on this neat Legend of Zelda Metal Display or the Virtual Boy Glasses Case, merch I wish we had on this side of the rewards pond.

I appreciate that it's not even Halloween yet, but the Pokemon Center Christmas decorations just dropped – and they're threatening some major festive cheer up in here.

I'm the sort of guy who normally prefers to get spooky season out of the way before thinking about tinsel and jingle bells, but even my willpower is being sorely tested by this collection. Ornaments, cozy clothing, pins, and knick-knacks of all sorts have just dropped, and they're so Christmassy it's got me practically humming carols. While you can get some festively-themed Poke-goodies at Amazon and other major retailers, it pales in comparison to the full Pokemon Center Christmas lineup. These goodies are exclusive to the store, and if other merch from there is any indication, these will be of a very high quality.

Because there's quite a lot to choose from (including gear from previous years), I've rounded up my favorites here. With any luck, some of these might get folded into next month's sale; while I'm mostly going to be keeping an eye on Black Friday Pokemon card deals, I know merch like this Pokemon Center Christmas gear can enjoy some major bargains toward the end of November.

Entertainment and pop-culture collectible store Zavvi has gone into administration.

In an announcement posted today that has taken over the webstore, Zavvi announced that the "affairs, business and property of the Company" are now under the management of Joint Administrators." This is apparently due to Zavvi's financial position, which means it has to cease trading "with immediate effect."

In practical terms, Zavvi can no longer fulfil any orders or pre-orders. Customers are also warned not to make new purchases through the webstore (not that you seem able to, at least not from my quick investigation).

What does this mean for those of us who purchased something through the site but now won't get what they paid for? It looks like we may be able to win that money back, though there are some hoops to jump through first.

"We appreciate that customers who have paid for goods that have not been received will be concerned about their orders and payments," the announcement reads. "Customers should contact their bank, card issuer or payment provider promptly to establish whether they may be entitled to recover their payment. Depending on the payment method and the circumstances of the transaction, customers may be able to make a claim"

That feels… Well, it's pretty catastrophic. There only being the possibility of a refund (which in itself sounds dependent on a number of factors) is one hell of a rug-pull, and this will leave a lot of understandably angry customers in its wake.

The news feels as though it came out of nowhere; just this morning I used Zavvi in my guide on where to buy the Hasbro Legend of Zelda Master Sword. If you've been affected by the incident, I'm so sorry – and I hope you're able to get your money back if you're a customer.

It already looked good, but a fan has decided that the new Lego PlayStation set could be better. And you know what? They're absolutely right.

Prolific builder hachiroku24 has used Lego PlayStation for a Final Fantasy diorama so impressive it stopped me dead in my tracks. Judging by the reddit post's 4K upvotes, I'm not alone either. Featuring most major FF7 characters in a life-or-death battle with the console (which just came out at the Lego store) as a base, this kit is beautifully well-done; pieces of terrain are growing out of the PlayStation as if the action can't be contained on a disc, and some minifigures are actually using the controller as a springboard to launch their next attack. Much like hachiroku24's phenomenal Lego GTA 6 set, it's incredibly dynamic.

Now, we spent a lot of our five-star Lego PlayStation review singing the set's praises... and it's great as is. But this FF7 overlay elevatyes it. As mentioned in a top comment on the reddit thread, "it's so fucking peak." I couldn't agree more.

This isn't the first time hachiroku24 has made a kick-ass Final Fantasy 7 model, of course; they submitted a Midgar diorama to the Ideas program, and I really hope it becomes a real set. Because these designs can reach the desk of Lego itself if they get enough fan-votes (as will happen with the new Lego Marvel and Star Wars crossover), there's a chance we may see their work on a shelf one day. Considering how consistently they keep knocking it out of the park, I've got my fingers crossed.

Unfortunately, there's no word on how to build this for ourselves - yet. Hopefully hachiroku24 provides instructions at some point. (It obviously starts with a PlayStation from the Lego store, but that's about all we know.) Otherwise, I'll need to create my own miniature Midgar with additions from Lego's Pick a Brick service...

I've got good and bad news if you're trying to track down where to buy the Hasbro Legend of Zelda Master Sword. First up, the good: it is in stock for US fans. To be precise, you can grab it from Walmart and Entertainment Earth as we speak.

The bad news? Well, stock seems very low and it's sold out almost everywhere else (that includes the UK, where I've not been able to find places to buy the Hasbro Legend of Zelda Master Sword at all). In short, I'd move quickly if you want to secure a copy of the collectible for yourself; like many of the best toys when they become the next hot thing, it's snatched up fast when it does poke its head above the parapet.

Anything goes when you're playing with Lego as a kid, and now that creativity is making its way into the real world as the toy-maker mashes up Star Wars with Marvel for the first time.

Called 'Hope Assembles,' Lego revealed the crossover at New York Comic Con 2026 as a first-of-its-kind project... but fans will be the ones designing these sets. It's all part of the 'Ideas' initiative, where the community submits designs that will be voted on by the community and Lego itself. The most popular sets will then be immortalized as real, actual kits you can buy.

This challenge is split across three categories: vehicles, characters, or scenes. That means you could theoretically have Darth Vader snapping Thanos out of existence with the Infinity Guantlet, or Doctor Doom sitting on the Emperor's Throne in the Death Star while being served by StormDoomtroopers. So long as you stick to the guidelines (basically, keep it family friendly), you can submit any wild concept you have to the Lego Hope Assembles page. I guess it's time to start trawling the Lego store's Marvel and Star Wars ranges for inspiration.

Voting on submissions begins as of December 8 2026, and the winners will be announced next year.

Actor, director, and Marvel comics writer Kevin Smith made the announcement at this year's New York Comic Con, noting that "working on the upcoming Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembles comic series has been incredibly exciting, and this LEGO Ideas challenge reflects the same spirit of creativity inspired by these two iconic universes. This challenge gives fans a chance to be part of something never done before and I can’t wait to see all of the creative Marvel and Star Wars mash ups it inspires!"

It's worth noting that fan-submitted Ideas sets aren't anything new; many of the best Lego sets have been designed by the community. That includes the Nightmare Before Christmas kit (which gets my vote as one of the best Lego Halloween sets), the new Lego Wallace & Gromit model fans love, and even this month's Downton Abbey.

If you want an example of how it all works, check out the recent Lego Yu-Gi-Oh Exodia set; the design was submitted as part of a challenge, reached 10,000 fan votes, and then was selected as one of the competition finalists. After some deliberation by Lego, it was chosen over the four other kits and will eventually become a real set you can buy. Although the winner always goes through edits from the Lego design team (as can be seen with Wallace & Gromit's original concept) for practical reasons, it's normally very close. That means you may one day be able to find your set on store shelves.

The newest Young Link and Zelda amiibo have come and gone at US retailers, but pre-orders still have yet to appear for us UK-based fans. And trust me, I've checked.

I've been refreshing the Nintendo UK online storefront every day since the figures were unveiled during the 40th Anniversary Nintendo Direct, and yet they're still yet to show their little, plastic uncanny valley faces. Today's check came up empty just as they always do, yet I did at least spot that some of my favorite Legend of Zelda Collection amiibo are back in stock starting from £12.99. I've picked out the best restocks below so you can at least add something new to your Zelda shelves.

The first Ocarina of Time Link amiibo is also part of this set, but it's currently unavailable. It was in stock this morning, but there must be more hungry Zelda amiibo fans out there than I had suspected, as the product listing changed to "sold out" as soon as I started typing these very words.

At least the above figures are still stocked up, and they're some of my favorite in the entire Legend of Zelda lineup, particularly as they're not based on Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom. Don't get me wrong, I love Switch-era Link, but it's refreshing to see amiibo based on different Legend of Zelda games once in a while, especially when they're some of the most vibrant of the lot. My favorite is undoubtedly the Majora's Mask Link, as merch from it can be a bit of a rarity, and Nintendo went the extra mile to sculpt the little guy in lovely detail. Here's even holding a little Goron mask in his hand.

If you do happen to prefer the Switch-era Zelda games, plenty of the newest Tears of the Kingdom amiibo are also in stock, including the Mineru's Construct figure with its articulated arms. The best part is that all of them, including the above amiibo, can be tapped and used with Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom too, should you need extra weapons, food, and materials along your journey, on both the Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2.

The spookiest season of all is upon us, and this year's Lego Halloween range has genuinely impressed me. The toy company always puts together a decent roundup of eerie kits for October, but this time the selection is scarily good.

Because I've been collecting the best Lego sets and obsessing about Halloween since I was about four years old (an early memory is begging my mom for this creepy witch mask as an early birthday present), I've rounded up my favorites below. If you grab them soon, you'll have plenty of time to finish and display these Lego Halloween models for October 31.

While I've featured models from the last few years like my beloved Nightmare Before Christmas kit, I'm particularly keen on 2026's collection. The Lego Halloween Pumpkin Lantern is perfect as an affordable but hugely effective display piece, for example; it's only $29.99 at Lego and 323 pieces, so shouldn't take long to build. Similarly, the new Mayor Manor at Lego is the start of a 'Halloween village' display that's phenomenally atmospheric. More of this, please.

A sprawling Lego Marvel Skyline with some of the franchise's best-loved locations has been revealed, and besides ample fan-service, it's got some gloriously silly deep cuts.

The 1,200-piece kit went up for pre-order at the Lego store yesterday ahead of its launch in January, and it's a rogue's gallery of the Marvel universe's most iconic buildings. While there are plenty you'd expect to see like Avengers Tower, the X-Mansion, and the Fantastic Four's Baxter Building, it's also stuffed with lesser-known locations from the comics like Rand Industries (Iron Fist's company) and then villainous AIM. In addition, Lego Marvel Skyline makes sure to sneak in a couple of very goofy references too – the Spider-Mobile and Thanos Copter.

Yes, Thanos the Mad Titan – destroyer of half the universe – used to fly about in an incredibly silly yellow helicopter that he named after himself. This can be seen hovering beside the Daily Bugle from the Spider-Man mythos.

Oh, and speaking of everyone's favorite webhead, his infamous 'Spider-Mobile' is also scaling the Bugle. Spidey was made this by an in-universe car company who wanted to promote their non-polluting engine, and it's been an in-joke ever since. (There was even an alternate-universe version of Peter who looked like Spider-Mobile called 'Peter Parkedcar,' which is the best thing I've ever heard.)

In terms of other references, there's a Chitauri Leviathan from the 2012 Avengers movie, Doctor Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum, Oscorp, the Department of Damage Control (with a teeny Spidey out front stopping a train as he did in Spider-Man 2), Daredevil's law office Nelson and Murdock, the hyper-evil Roxxon Corporation, a Wakandan Embassy referencing Black Panther, and Fisk Tower. There's even a to-scale Galactus minifigure as well, which might be the first we've ever gotten.

Much like the new Lego PlayStation with its Gran Turismo diorama, it's also populated with tiny cars made using squares or curved single stud pieces on a roller skate.

Lego Marvel Skyline will drop on January 1, 2027.

There's quite a lot on the docket for January; an iconic piece of Joker art is being made into a Lego Batman set, but fans are worried it'll haunt kids' nightmares. However, it's impressive enough to challenge the best Lego sets, so maybe it gets a pass.

When it comes to retro gaming, the Lego PlayStation represents one of the most iconic and instantly recognizable consoles ever produced, marking Sony's arrival on the scene that would change the gaming industry forever. Unlike the previously released scaled-down Lego Sega Genesis Console (40926), the PlayStation is recreated on an almost perfect 1:1 scale with the original, making it an eye-catching display piece and easily one of the best Lego sets for retro gamers.

The first thing that strikes you when you see the Lego PlayStation is just how much it looks like the actual console, which is no mean feat when you consider its unique shape and all of the curved surfaces involved! Likewise, the DualShock – Sony's first controller – is perfectly recreated despite the unusual angle of its hand grips, as well as sporting those iconic PlayStation face buttons.

Price will no doubt be a deciding factor for many people, as the Lego PlayStation is going to set you back $179.99 / £139.99 which places it firmly in the premium collectable category. However, I believe that it earns this increased price tag, due to the sheer number of impressive features packed into that classic gray case.

Naturally, you're going to be working your way through a lot of gray bricks that make up the exterior of the Lego PlayStation, however the internal build is far from boring. One of the first things you construct as you start forming the base is a large PS symbol, with color scheme matching the original logo. Around this a green layer is formed with gold and silver pieces laid on top, which actually has the appearance of components on a circuit board and really gives the impression that you're looking at the internal workings of an electronic device.

Then we get to the two internal dioramas, representing huge PlayStation hits Gran Turismo and Ape Escape. These pack a great deal of detail into a small area, and while constructing them can be a little fiddly due to the many tiny pieces involved, the overall effect is worth the effort. I particularly enjoyed that the Gran Turismo cars are actually minifig roller skates with different colored tiles on top, and that the main Ape Escape character has an interchangeable red or blue helmet – with a nearby box built into the scenery to hold the other piece!

I'm even prepared to forgive the 15 small stickers used in these areas, as the rest of the pieces with designs on them (such as the external buttons and logos) are all printed and look great. While the dioramas slot snugly into place within the PlayStation, they can easily be slid out by pulling the sides of the console outwards, for clearer viewing or display.

It's hard to overstate the amount of attention to detail and effort that has gone into making this set an almost perfect recreation of the PlayStation console and controller, which really stands out when you see it side by side with the original machine! Everything matches up perfectly, from the AC In, AV Multi Out, and Serial I/O ports on the back, to the ridges along the sides and controller ports at the front that you can actually plug the DualShock into. Flip it over and it even has the four 'rubber' feet in the correct places, a detail most may not even see!

Of course, the stand out feature on the Lego PlayStation is the working buttons on the top, which function through a clever series of pivots and rubber cushions. Press the Power button and a luminous rod pops up through a slot in front of it to represent the LED lighting up, while a prod of the Open button causes the disc tray lid to smoothly swing upwards exactly as you remember it. Push the lid back down and it locks into place with a satisfyingly click, again just as the original did.

This functioning mechanism really gives Lego PlayStation the "wow" factor, and every single person I've shown it to has been blown away by how impressive it is. You do have to be a little careful when operating it, as if you push either of the buttons down too hard they can become jammed within their housing, but this is relatively easy to fix and shouldn't happen if they're used with the care this set deserves.

Should you buy PlayStation?

There have now been a few officially licensed Lego games console sets released, but in my mind the PlayStation stands above them as an impressive and incredibly detailed tribute to an iconic retro console. I constantly had a smile on my face while building it due to all of the wonderful little touches and the genuinely remarkable mechanics that make it function, so if it's within your budget then you shouldn't hesitate to make it part of your collection.

How we tested Lego PlayStation #72306

This review was made using a set provided by a third-party PR company on behalf of Lego.

I built the Lego PlayStation (72306) set over a few sessions, with the main console taking me around 8 hours to build followed by another hour or so to complete the controller. With the pieces divided between a total of 14 bags, there are plenty of neat break points so you can make your individual sessions as long or short as you like.

Speaking of all things spooky, an iconic piece of Joker art is being made into a Lego Batman set, but fans are worried it'll haunt kids' nightmares.

A Lego Pokemon blind box series just leaked, and to be perfectly honest, I feel as though Lego is very specifically targeting my bank account here.

Reported by longtime leaker @got.cooped on Instagram, these Lego Pokemon blind boxes will apparently be like the Super Mario buildable figure range. These provide a random character or enemy from the Nintendo series with a mini-diorama that you build, and they tend to start from around $10 at Amazon. According to this leak, the Pokemon equivalent will use a similar approach rather than relying molded figures like the ones seen in the Iconic Trainer Moments Poké Ball at Lego.

Now, it's important to take an announcement like this with a pinch of salt. This is all unsubstantiated rumor rather than fact, after all, and we can't guarantee it'll happen. However, @got.cooped has a good track record for Lego leaks so I'm willing to at least give this the benefit of the doubt.

No matter what, I hope it's real. Those mini Mario figures are very well done, and even though they may not challenge the best Lego sets for impressiveness, they're excellent stocking-filler gifts for gamers. I don't see any reason why Pokemon wouldn't be just as good, particularly because you can have the buildable figure sat on a base representing their preferred environment (a riverbed for Magikarp, a desert for Sandshrew, etc). The series could even move through the Pokedex with each wave, going through the numbers sequentially. That way, this range could last for years.

Speaking of new kits, an iconic piece of Joker art is being made into a Lego Batman set, but fans are worried it'll haunt kids' nightmares. Plenty of models should also go on offer for this year's Black Friday Lego deals.

It's the most wonderful time of the year, that being the spooky October season. I like to spend this month re-watching my favorite horror flicks, and the original Ring is always on the must-watch list. Over the years, the film's iconic well-dwelling diva Sadako has become a fixture of figures and merchandise, and now Good Smile Company is re-releasing its own Sadako Nendoroid.

Pre-orders are open for $54.99 at the official Good Smile Company US store and will remain that way until November 11. While she's not technically new, this re-release is a festive Halloween treat for horror fans. The original terrifying cute chibi toy can fetch up to $200 on eBay, but you're getting the same toy here for its OG price. Better yet, pre-orders include a bonus 'TV static' screen so you can more authentically recreate scenes from the legendary 90s' horror film.

Out of all the Nendoroids out there (and there are a lot of them), this has some of my favorite accessories. You get two interchangeable face plates, one grinning and one "evil face" which includes a wide-eyed Sadako looking almost as menacing as she does in the original film. I owned a DVD of it growing up where the menu comprised of a close-up of Sadako's bloodshot eye, so this face feels perfectly nostalgic.

However, it's not the face plates that make me adore this horror-themed collectible, but the well she comes with. It wouldn't be Sadako without her well, and you get a tiny plastic one to pose her with. The paint job on the rustic stones is extraordinarily detailed, and I adore that Sadako's natural hand positions can be posed to appear as though she's crawling her way out.

Naturally, the Nendoroid comes with a tiny VHS tape too, and it wouldn't be a Sadako toy if it didn't. Good Smile Company didn't go all out like toy manufacturer Kotobukiya by providing reels of actual tape to drape around her, like with their Sadako Bishoujo figure release. However, the tiny tape is still a neat addition that should allow for some cute and creepy poses.

While this re-release is available to pre-order from now until mid-November, you will have a long wait until it arrives at your door. The official US Good Smile Company listing states that it should arrive between April 1 and June 30 next year, which means you won't be able to pose her in time for this year's Halloween.

Either way, I'd still recommend you snap it as there's every chance this re-release will be hoarded by resellers yet again. If you want some Sadako rep amongst your anime figures in the meantime, toy-brand Furyu has released a $27.99 Sadako Noodle Stopper that's designed to sit on top of your ramen pot. No really.

Of all the savings I've seen, the one that stood out to me most was the Rebel Ops Deadeye. This is a toy from Nerf's brand-new blaster range, and they differ from the competition because they have separate 'modes' that have distinct uses. If someone asks me about the best Star Wars collectibles, I always point them toward Hasbro's Black Series range. No matter whether it's absurdly detailed action figures, or lightsaber replicas, I've got no problem with singing their praises. However, I think the Black Series helmets are some of the best merch from a galaxy far, far away - period.

Besides looking like the spitting image of their on-screen counterpart, these props are incredibly well made. Actually, they look as though they've been stolen from a movie set or the Lucasfilm archive. As any Lego collector knows, the bricks aren't cheap, and with new sets constantly pushing into the $400s, $500s, $600s, and beyond, it takes a certain Prime Day to remind us that you can pick up kits for pretty cheap too. To reinforce the point, I've found 30 sets that now cost under $30, all of which have been reduced for Prime Day (until, at least for many of them, the end of today).

I've got Star Wars, Harry Potter, Minecraft, Friends, Speed Champions, Botanicals, Creator 3 in 1 — a lot of Creator 3 in 1 actually — and more. They're all listed in price order, by reduced price, starting from the most affordable Lego sets and running up to that $30 barrier. And naturally I've omitted deals which weren't very good, whether it's because we've seen it go for much cheaper, or because the set is always discounted.

I knew from early on when building Minas Tirith that it was one of my favorite Lego sets. It's a jaw-dropping build with an incredible level of detail, and the forced perspective is so cleverly done... but even then, it can't beat what I would argue is one of the all-time best Lego sets: Rivendell.

This is a masterpiece of a model. Yes, it's a dead ringer for the on-screen version in all its autumnal glory and that never fails to make me nerd out when I see it on my shelf. But what impresses me most is how downright beautiful this thing is. Everything from those gorgeously arranged roof tiles to the artfully scattered foliage is made with pinpoint precision to make Rivendell one of the most stunning Lego sets around. Minas Tirith (which is still one of the most damn impressive kits I've ever seen) is fantastic, but I don't think it matches Rivendell for variety or sheer prettiness.

As it so happens, Rivendell just got a major price cut for this week's Lego Prime Day deals - and it's never been cheaper.

If that's a bit too rich for your blood (and honestly, I get it - even with a discount, this is still expensive), it's not the only Lord of the Rings kit enjoying a price cut right now. The Lego Sauron Helmet model has also tumbled down to a record low price, settling at £43.99 via Amazon rather than the standard £64.99. In much the same way, the Lego Balrog Book Nook has fallen from £110 to £72.99 via Amazon.

Still, neither of those can match up to Rivendell in terms of 'wow' factor - and at this point, I'm starting to wonder what Lego set can.

The world of Pokémon merch is far bigger than the actual world of the franchise. That can be a problem in times like now, Prime Day, because finding good gifts and discounts can be quite a challenge. With today being the last day of Amazon's sales, the pressure is mounting.

But let's banish the pressure, because I've found an array of Pokémon gifts which are worth picking up. All but one of these cost under $50 at their reduced price (the other is still worth knowing about, given it's a first-time discount on a big gift), and won't disappoint the recipient. The discounts are all at Amazon (or its sibling site Woot), but I double-checked costs at rival retailers to make sure you're really getting the best discount.

If you were as bowled away by the interactive Lego Donkey Kong Arcade set as I was when it finally got revealed after weeks of leaks, I have news of great import: that gosh-darn son of a gun has hit a record low price.

You can blame Amazon's Big Deal Days sale for that. Just a month after it hit shelves, Lego Donkey Kong Arcade has already tumbled down to £119.99 at Amazon rather than the usual £150 with a speed that'd impress the ape himself. (Just use the extra voucher tick box under the price for the full reduction). Sure, it's 'only' a £30 price cut. But seeing as it hasn't had any kind of discount before, that's big news.

While it looks awesome (it's a faithful ode to the original arcade game that served as DK and Mario's first appearances) and will be a slice of heartwarming nostalgia for long-time fans, that's only part of why I love this kit. The real reason it won me over was the fact that it's so interactive. You see, this isn't just a display piece; it actually works.

Well, to a degree. Although it's not a fully working recreation of the arcade game, you can roll barrels down the girders and get Mario to leap over them using the buttons and joystick just like its inspiration. That's a neat party trick, and a good conversation starter if you have house guests.

This is my favorite time of year to build Lego sets, and some must-have models just got a price cut. Sadly, though, I think we'll have to wait for discounts on this Lego version of the most iconic Joker artwork ever made...

One of the most iconic and eye-catching Batman comic covers is being turned into a Lego set, and it's so accurate - not to mention unnerving - that I'm floored.

Revealed in honor of New York Comic Con 2026, Lego The Joker Wall Art Comic Cover recreates a beloved illustration for Detective Comics #880 where the clown prince of crime is largely made up of tiny bats. This brick-built version is strikingly close to the original Batman cover by artist Jock, and it's up for pre-order from Lego now ahead of a January launch.

Actually, some fans are concerned that this thing is so true to the haunting original it'll scar children who see it in Lego stores. In a reddit thread titled "Lego store employees, what’s it gonna be like having this thing on shelves?", the general agreement seems to be that it's far more unsettling than Lego's normal work. "Reminds me of the cover for Scary Stories. This cover used to haunt me as a kid lol," reads the top comment by euvnairb with 2.4K upvotes. Not everyone agrees, of course, but the consensus seems to be that it could haunt the dreams of younger builders if left in pride of place on shelves.

It isn't the only Bat-related kit hitting shelves at the beginning of 2027, though; two Batmobiles are also joining the best Lego sets next year. First up is the Arkham Knight version, complete with Rocksteady Batman. This is followed by a Batman Returns model featuring that movie's Batmobile & a Duck driven by Danny DeVito's Penguin. The latter is a smaller, more affordable version of the 2K-piece Batmobile from last month that fans agree looks incredible.

All of the above should launch on January 1, but only the Joker artwork is currently available to pre-order.

It's cozy season again! This is my favorite time of year to build Lego sets, and these must-have models just got a price cut. Hopefully those discounts continue as we march toward this year's Black Friday Lego deals. I'm hopefully that some of the best new Lego sets in October 2026 will get a bargain, anyway.

I'm not sure there's a better time than Fall to be settling down with a good Lego set, and this year's Lego Prime Day deals are making it very tempting to cozy up at home with a brick-built project or two.

Basically, I've got good news for Lego fans but bad news for your wallets; this year's Lego Prime Day deals have slashed the price of many must-have sets. That includes everything from display kits to playsets across most ranges from Star Wars to Pokemon, so there should be something to tempt you regardless of what you're in the mood for. These aren't just fluff, either. A few of the best Lego sets have been included in that discount downpour, and as someone who spends every week reporting on and reviewing Lego, even I'm sorely tempted.

However, you'll need to move fast. While plenty of offers are still live, many seem to have sold out. As an example, the excellent Ghost and Phantom 2 Star Wars model had never been cheaper than it was for yesterday's Prime Day Lego deals… but by today, it'd vanished without a trace. Seeing as it's now retired, that may have been our last chance to secure it at a discount. In other words, don't hesitate if you see something you like the look of!

Doctor Doom looks great in green in Avengers: Doomsday, but new merchandise reveals we almost had a fresh look and title change for the Marvel supervillain.

As is now customary for a big new Marvel release, a wave of Funko Pops have teased what to expect from certain characters.

Among them is Doctor Doom. While there is a Doctor Doom Funko showcasing much of what we've already seen from Robert Downey Jr.'s masked character in recent Doomsday trailers, we also have confirmation that he will be accompanied by Franklin Richards, the son of Fantastic Four's Reed Richards and Sue Storm – as set up by the Fantastic Four: First Steps post-credits scene.

More intriguingly, though, is the figure named 'Lord Doom', complete with gold trimmings, regalia, and a slightly modified mask.

While this doesn't tell us much about Doom in Avengers: Doomsday, it does clue us into Marvel Studios' thinking behind the scenes. That's because the Lord Doom Funko is part of the brand's 'concept series', which shines a light on concept art and scrapped designs that never made the cut. Check it out for yourself below.

As the road to Doomsday gets ever shorter, we're starting to hear more and more about the biggest Marvel release in years.

The directors Joe and Anthony Russo have already given a ballpark figure of two-and-a-half hours for its runtime, with talk of a "very surprising ending" to boot. Joe Russo has also described the collapse of the multiverse in apocalyptic terms, meaning that there's bound to be more than a few casualties as the incursions start to hit close to home.

Avengers: Doomsday hits cinemas in the US on December 18 and in some regions from December 16.

Ogres are like onions, if onions were built out of bricks and (not to give away too many spoilers) it's those root vegetables that had me rushing across the room in glee and exclaiming 'onions!' on a rainy Wednesday night this week. The Lego Shrek, Donkey & Puss in Boots set is filled with more than a glancing nod to the celebrated first film, from the exclusive printed signpost pieces to a simple blue flower with red thorns.

The 1,403-piece set took me a couple of evenings to devour, but I'll confess I wasn't coming into this set 100% objectively. Character sets rarely get my heart pumping. There's something about the cold, plastic eyes of my favorites when locked into Lego's harder edges that gives me the creeps. I'm happy to report, though, Lego Shrek neatly sidesteps this curse and I'm impressed by just how well the green giant comes across here.

Is it going to replace any of the best Lego sets for scale, mastery, or creativity? It's unlikely. But if you're a Shrek fan this is an excellent shelf piece.

Features

Lego Shrek, Donkey & Puss in Boots stands at 8.5-inches wide and 6-inches deep when fully built, comprised of 1,403 pieces. That's a pretty dense equation, but a lot of these bricks are smaller nubbins that go a long way to creating a sense of texture in these details.

That means the $129.99 / £109.99 price tag has an easier time justifying itself - judging by recent releases this is the going rate for a 1,400 piece set.

The value of those pieces holds quite firm, though. There are seven printed blocks here, developed specifically for Shrek and Donkey's faces and that 'Beware Ogre' signpost at the front, as well as a Puss in Boots minifigure, complete with hat, sword, cape, and wee little printed boots.

This is a pretty straightforward build process that doesn't jump around the diorama too much, we go from the base to Donkey, sprinkle in a few environmental extras, and then move onto the big man himself. Bags 5-10 are dedicated to Shrek's figure, while 1-4 will have you working on that swamp and ass.

As is to be expected from our rotund pal and his furry donkey friend, a lot of this work deals with covering corners and joins. That means heavy use of slopes and larger curved round corners, rounding out those boxy bases.

For the most part, instructions are clear and easy to follow. I'd recommend a brighter building environment, particularly when working through bag 6 as the darker brown of Shrek's garb can be incredibly difficult to parse from the instructions without the big light on. Where left and right sides need to be considered, Lego splits internal pieces into red and green camps for a better visual understanding of direction and to avoid mistakes.

Creating Shrek's legs was the only hurdle I encountered. There are a lot of similar shapes at play here, all converging on one base with a lot of rotations within the directions. Working on top and underneath the base with very similar brick concoctions is a little trickier than the rest of the build. I'm grown enough to admit I had to break down my first leg entirely after noticing a mistake.

It's a satisfying build process overall, though, with that classic 'oh this is what I've been building for the last hour' recognition moment as each bag comes to an end. Using black mechanical claws with horizontal bar plates for the strings around Shrek's tunic is particularly ingenious move.

I was surprised by how well Shrek came to life at the end of this process. Characters, especially particularly round ones, don't always fare well against those straight-edge bricks and I was worried about his face in particular coming across a little uncanny.

However, with the extra scope in the price tag to include far more curves and smaller pieces, everyone's favorite Ogre looks fantastic on the base.

Donkey looks a little less rounded, coming across slightly slimmer than I'd have expected - next to Shrek he looks a bit one dimensional. There's still a nice level of detail here, with jagged pieces creating an impressive sense of texture underneath his front white stripe and down his mane. It's the 1x2 Rock Claw pieces doing the heavy lifting here, both across Donkey and in Shrek's tunic, allowing for a finer level of ruffle than typically afforded by your standard studs.

Shrek's a big guy, though, so keeping him sturdy on that swamp base is a lot of work. Held in place by two ball joints under his feet, and secured to Donkey's side by studs, this larger chap stands pretty securely in place. Those rotations under his boots give him a little wobble, which can be unnerving when moving the diorama, but he's sturdy when stuck in place. Donkey himself is built straight into the (nice) boulder he's perched on.

All that anchoring does mean there's very little articulation in these joins. The only posing power we have here is Donkey's mouth and ears and Shrek's left arm.

Lego thrives on its smaller details in sets like this, though, and there's no shortage of surprises in this display. From smaller hints like a blue flower with red thorns and a small onion tucked away at the back of the base to larger icons like that signpost, there's plenty of storytelling in Shrek and Donkey's environment.

Unfortunately, Puss feels like an afterthought. He's only here in minifigure form and, while his theming stands out well, he's just a little too luminous for my liking.

Shrek's green plates are vibrant, yes, but against the browns of his tunic, Puss's almost luminous toning feels a little off. Being a minifigure, this kitty's scaling is also out of whack - his head and much of his torso being about the same size as Shrek's eye and brow.

Should you buy Lego Shrek, Donkey & Puss in Boots?

The Lego Shrek, Donkey & Puss in Boots set can feel a little overpriced considering the lack of posability and the disappointing Puss minifigure, but there are some nice exclusive printed pieces here, not a sticker in sight, and the extra detail afforded by the additional brick count helps both Shrek and Donkey avoid the Lego figure curse.

Movie fans are going to find joy in both the smaller and larger aspects of this build and the finished product will look fantastic in any swamp. Clever piece usage, surprisingly convincing texture effects, and just the right level of reliance on curves makes this well worth investigating.

We've been hands-on with this model and gave it four-and-a-half-stars out of five in our Lego Executor Super Star Destroyer review. Although it's a monster of a build (it took us around 15 hours to finish), the attention to detail here is absurd. It really captures the vast scale of the on-screen original, and while we've seen the Executor in similarly lavish form before, this version makes numerous improvements that result in a more accurate tribute - particularly the city-scape in the center.

It'll also makes quite the impact on display. This is the longest Lego set ever made, inching past equally huge kits like the Titanic. That means it'll be *General Grievous voice* a fine addition to your collection.

The downside is obviously that price; it's a lot of credits. Plus, it's awkward to show off due to the size. However, this is one of Lego's biggest models, challenging the new Lego Death Star and what is arguably one of the best Lego sets ever made - the Lego UCS Millennium Falcon. That means it has gravitas on its side, and I think you'd struggle to find many more impressive Star Wars kits.

If you'd prefer something a bit cheaper, PS Direct just dropped stock on Lego Astro Bot for $25. And speaking of discounts, don't forget to bookmark our guide to Black Friday Lego deals as we approach sales season.

You can now buy the Lego Astro Bot set by itself rather than as a gift-with-purchase, and honestly, I'm relieved.

More specifically, you can pick it up straight from PlayStation Direct for $25. Before now, the adorable kit was only available via the Lego Store if you spent $150 or more. That meant Lego Astro Bot was out of reach for many fans, but now it's back on the table.

Honestly, this is the best news I've heard all day - and seeing how fans agree Lego Astro Bot is "too good" to just be a gift-with-purchase, I think the community will be psyched too.

If you're new to the idea of gifts with purchase, it's a bonus for members of the free Lego Insiders program that's bundled with a specific set or if you spend a certain amount on the Lego store. They only last for a few days, at which point they're gone forever - and that's part of the reason why they can be controversial amongst fans.

Sure, models like this are a nice bonus when packaged alongside the best new Lego sets in October 2026. However, Astro Bot is so well-done that limiting it to a seven-day freebie feels like... I don't know, a waste? It's clear from fan response that folks are more than happy to buy this as a separate kit, after all.

It raises an interesting question about gifts-with-purchase: what should and shouldn't qualify? Should the idea exist at all? I appreciate that they're supposed to act as an incentive, but many do too good a job. When they seem like fully-fledged, high-quality kits in their own right (as with Lego Astro Bot, or last year's Sega Genesis controller), it's frustrating to see them stuck behind a paywall with a ticking timer.

Personally speaking, I don't mind if it's a novelty like Sully's Lab from X-Files that doesn't offer anything substantially new (it's a cool model, but fans get Sully anyway in the full, impressive Lego X-Files set). But for the likes of January's Squawk radio station that shipped alongside the Stranger Things transforming house, it provided minifigures of beloved characters you couldn't get anywhere else. That's a bit frustrating.

Still, at least this instance has a happy ending - if you just want Lego Astro Bot, it's all yours.
