The Bear star Ebon Moss-Bachrach's lips are sealed when it comes to what season 5 has in store for Richie after the end of prequel episode 'Gary.'

A surprise episode of The Bear dropped last week, which took us back in time to a flashback from Richie's POV. The prequel standalone episode saw Richie and his late best friend Mikey (played by Jon Bernthal) take a road trip to Gary, Indiana.

Richie was seemingly daydreaming about the trip behind the wheel of his car during a present-day journey, but was jolted awake when he collided with another vehicle at the end of the episode. But just where on the timeline those present-day scenes fall is being kept under wraps.

"Beyond that kind of general tonal thing, I can't really get into the details," Moss-Bachrach, who co-wrote the episode with Bernthal, told Entertainment Weekly, before adding that the crash could "potentially" have occurred between seasons 4 and 5.

Richie's condition after the crash is still up in the air, but things don't look good for everyone's favorite cousin. We won't have to wait too long to find out once and for all, though. The Bear season 5 has been confirmed as the final installment of the comedy-drama series, with all eight episodes dropping at once next month.

Following comments from star Jamie Lee Curtis that the show is set to end after season 5, The Bear has a surprise-dropped a special episode starring and co-written by Jon Bernthal and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.

Per Variety, the episode, titled 'Gary,' follows Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) and Mikey (Jon Bernthal) in a flashback that sees them taking a work trip to Gary, Indiana. The episode focuses on “the two friends’ complicated relationship, uncovering new layers of Mikey’s mental state while offering crucial insight into the man Richie is when audiences first meet him in Season 1, adding emotional context that reframes their story from the very beginning."

It's The Bear, and it's a Mikey flashback, so you already know you're probably going to cry. Series creator Christopher Storer directs from Bernthal and Moss-Bachrach's screenplay. Curiously, though, the episode is listed as its own title rather than under The Bear category on Hulu and Disney Plus.

The Emmy and Golden Globe-winning show (which I still don't think should be in the comedy category, but whatever) is set to end after five seasons, with Curtis saying in a recent interview that "everybody's confirmed the show is ending." Then again, Ted Lasso filmed a series finale and everything and still came back for a fifth season... so anything's possible.

The first trailer for Ted Lasso season 4 has arrived, and the beloved football coach is back in action.

In the brief clip, which can be viewed above, Ted returns to Richmond to take on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a women's football team. He has some help, though, from Sex Education star Tanya Reynolds. We also see a montage of all our favorite characters, including Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, and Brett Goldstein. Brendan Hunt and Jeremy Swift are part of the returning cast, with new members including Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern, and Grant Feely.

The trailer reveals that Ted Lasso season 4 will hit Apple TV Plus on August 5. The show will air weekly episodes through October 7.

You might recall that the show was set to end after season 3, with the final episode titled, 'So Long, Farewell.' Star Jason Sudeikis surprise-announced the show's return on a podcast last year (and I think it might have something to do with all of those Ted Lasso dancing compilations going viral on TikTok).

The official synopsis reads: "The fourth season will see Ted return to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would."

The Last of Us season 3 is adding a Sinners star to its cast, and it might give an opportunity to flesh out more of Yara and Lev's story.

As per Variety, Li Jun Li will play Miriam, the Seraphite mother of Yara and Lev. In The Last of Us Part 2, the character remained unnamed – but had a pivotal role in kickstarting Yara and Lev's journey due to her actions.

We already know that Michelle Mao will play Yara and Star Wars: Skeleton Crew's Kyriana Kratter will play Lev. The inclusion of Li, who more than held her own in acclaimed company in Sinners, should give one of the slightly more undercooked passages of Part 2 – that of Lev's admission and exile – some extra narrative juice in what could be the final season of the HBO show.

"The series is definitely planned for 2027. Craig [Mazin] is still working it out whether it will be two more seasons or one more long season," HBO boss Casey Bloys told Variety. "It hasn't been decided yet, and I'm following Craig's lead on that."

Whether it's the end or not, the upcoming season (which will focus on Kaitlyn Dever's Abby and her side of the revenge quest), will be "longer" than the divisive second season according to creator Craig Mazin, who adds there will also be "more bang for your buck."

Co-creator and Naughty Dog director Neil Druckmann, who departed the show after two seasons, is holding out hope that the third season will be as "faithful" to the games as the first season was.

Next up for Craig Mazin is a Baldur's Gate 3 TV show, with the project having been announced over at HBO in February. Druckmann, meanwhile, could be hinting at The Last of Us' exciting game future after cryptically teasing "the few stops that remain on the road ahead."

Baby Reindeer's Richard Gadd is broody, brawling, and bulked up in a new look at his upcoming drama Half Man.

Released by BBC and HBO, a fresh batch of images see Gadd, who created the show, sporting a severe haircut, tattoos, and a more muscular build than in his previous Netflix hit as he channels fiercely loyal Ruben. Elsewhere, Jamie Bell brings meek, mild-mannered Niall to life, Ruben's "brother", who gets quite the shock when the former turns up to his wedding having not seen him for over 30 years.

As showcased by the other snaps, in which Mitchell Robertson and Stuart Campbell play much younger versions of the characters, the lads used to be inseparable in the late '80s. But when Ruben started exhibiting brutish behavior, the twosome drifted apart. As they reunite in present-day Glasgow, an explosion of violence takes place that catapults us back through their once-intertwined lives.

"I felt it was interesting to explore dysfunctional manhood, where it comes from, and how it kind of evolves over time," Gadd recently explained to GQ. "Why male camaraderie is so intoxicating for people, and why male bonds are so strong, but also why the repercussions of negative male behavior from that can be also extreme."

"I wasn't so much interested in just showing a violent man doing violent things all the time," he continued. "I was interested in contextualizing that, and digging into why men have that bond. People will say, you know, the show is about masculinity. But I sometimes think it's about two men who struggle to love each other, and don't really know how to do that."

After six seasons on TV, Peaky Blinders is making the leap to the big screen with The Immortal Man. Playing now in select theaters ahead of its Netflix release later this month, The Immortal Man is set some six years after the events of season 6, and was conceived as a feature-length conclusion to Tommy Shelby's story, according to director Tom Harper.

Speaking to GamesRadar+, Harper (who previously helmed three episodes during season one, before the likes of Wild Rose and Heart of Stone) explained how plans for a Peaky Blinders movie changed over the years, and the ways The Immortal Man differs from the long-running show in order to make it more cinematic.

"Just inherently, the way we thought about it was slightly different in terms of the writing," Harper says. "It's a more singular story than the series. The series obviously jumps around from character to character, and you have multiple story lines going at any one time. This is much more focused on Tommy and this particular chapter of his life. So I think that just inherently it is more cinematic in its conception.

"Having a bit more time and money to enhance the production values is slightly different," Harper continues. "Shooting on location is really important to me. Having the ability to be able to go to all the different places that we found, from Liverpool to Manchester to Birmingham to Stoke to Leeds to Bradford… Being able to do that, rather than do it in visual effects or build it in a studio, imbues everything with a different feel and a different tone. So it's the combination of those multiple things that I think give it that cinematic filmic feel."

Unfolding against the backdrop of World War 2, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man sees Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) on a redemptive mission to save his son, Duke (Barry Keoghan), who's been caught up in a Nazi plot to tank the British economy. Though it's taken over a decade for a Peaky Blinders movie to happen, Harper confirms that series creator Steven Knight mentioned the idea to him way back in 2014, ahead of season 2.

"It was just when we'd won an RTS award, I think, and we were going up on stage and he said, 'I'm going to make a film of [Peaky Blinders] in between seasons one and two, or two and three, do you want to do it?' And I was like, 'Yeah, definitely.' And then I never heard from him for another 13 years!"

In the years since then, Cillian Murphy has become a powerhouse performer, culminating in his Best Actor Academy Award win for Oppenheimer. Harper, notes that the actor he reunited with for The Immortal Man was "both different and the same" as the one he first worked with 13 years ago.

"Like everyone who I've worked with again and and indeed myself, we've we've grown up more. We're older. We're wiser, hopefully. We've suffered more pain and more joy and more positives and more negatives. And that changes the dynamic, but we're still all the same people, I think. That makes it really interesting. Cillian has had a phenomenal career. He was brilliant 13 years ago and he's brilliant today, but he's more powerful now. He has such a powerful presence and there's a confidence and a clarity to his his performance that I think is has really he's grown into."

In a conversation with GameRadar+, Cillian Murphy explains how The Immortal Man is the "natural conclusion" of Tommy Shelby's decades-spanning story, while franchise newbie Rebecca Ferguson says the new movie works as a "standalone film."

Netflix's new erotic thriller Vladimir hasn't exactly set pulses racing on the streamer – according to the early viewing figures, anyway.

According to data obtained by What's on Netflix, the Rachel Weisz-starring series has only accrued a little over 4 million views in its first four days.

That pales in comparison to the likes of fellow limited series His and Hers (19 million views), Griselda (20 million views), and mega-hit Adolescence (24.3 million). However, it still cracked Netflix's English-language top 10 behind Bridgerton, The Night Agent, and new documentary Dinosaurs.

But given the talent involved – Jessica Henwick and Ellen Robertson also star – and a buzzy premise, Vladimir must go down as a disappointment for Netflix. Those who have watched it aren't impressed either, with the limited series only earning a 58% score with viewers on Rotten Tomatoes.

Based on the Julia May Jonas book of the same name, Vladimir sees Weisz playing M., a literature professor embroiled in professional and personal scandal after the revelation of her husband John (John Slattery) having inappropriate relationships with students. The sudden arrival of the married Vladimir (Leo Woodall) to the faculty re-ignites M.'s passion for love and literature – with explosive results.

Weisz should find happier returns in one of her next projects: The Mummy 4 sees the actor reunite with Brendan Fraser. The directors have even confirmed that the third Mummy film, which saw Weisz's role recast, won't count as canon moving forward.

The Peaky Blinders are entering a new era, and now we've got our first glimpse at what the franchise looks like in the '50s thanks to some leaked photos from the set of a yet-to-be-titled spin-off.

According to What's on Netflix, production on the upcoming show kicked off on March 4, with the cast and crew descending on Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent. Most of the two-day shoot was carried out inside the historic Queen's Theatre – a few miles north of where the majority of filming has been confirmed to be taking place: Birmingham's Digbeth Loc. Studios.

With the action switching to Jenkins Street the following day, eagle-eyed locals (and photographers, it seems) could see cast members decked out in post-World War 2 clobber and period-appropriate cars. In one of the snaps posted on the site, which are credited to MC Pix, one worried-looking, moustachioed character looks to be carrying a typewriter case from a vehicle into a nearby building. Another one has zoomed in on a board for The Birmingham Herald, where a headline ominously reads: "THREE HURT IN FIRE."

Dubbed 'Peaky 1954' on a production company listing, the spin-off is reportedly plotted to span two seasons and will chart the Shelby family's involvement in a bombed Birmingham's industrial rebrand. "The race to own [its] massive reconstruction project becomes a brutal contest of mythical dimensions," reads a logline, in "a city of unprecedented opportunity and danger."

What's perhaps most notable about the behind-the-scenes look, however, is that all of actors – identified as Cal O'Driscoll, Fintan Shevlin, and Jacob Wright – are wearing fedoras. With that, we can assume they're probably not Shelbys. Ironic though, really, given that they seem to have some links to the press. Times really a-changing, eh?

For your newsboy cap fix, fans will have to head out to see Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, a feature-length follow-up to Steven Knight's original BBC drama. Starring Barry Keoghan and Rebecca Ferguson, and familiar faces Sophie Rundle, Stephen Graham and Cillian Murphy, it picks up with the latter's Tommy in 1940 as he's dragged out of self-imposed exile.

The movie is in select theaters now, ahead of it dropping on Netflix on March 20. Peaky Blinders typically started filming a year or so before each batch of episodes aired, so we guess the spin-off will arrive sometime in late 2026/early 2027.

The first trailer for Beef season 2 is here – and it's all couples, country clubs, and chaos. Though if you tuned into the first chapter, that last part is unlikely to shock you...

While that saw Steven Yeun and Ali Wong's verbally (and sometimes, physically) beat the heck out of one another following a fairly innocuous road accident, the second installment centers on another feud: Oscar Isaac's Josh and Carey Mulligan's Lindsay vs. Charles Melton's Austin and Cailee Spaeny's Ashley.

As the 85-second promo hints, happy-go-lucky Austin and his fiancée Ashley work at a fancy golf resort. But when the newly-engaged youngsters unwittingly witness one of their manager's explosive, violent fights with his wife, the power dynamics between the quartet threaten to shift dramatically. Things are made more complicated, too, by the involvement of the club's billionaire owner Park (Minari's Youn Yuh Jung), who is struggling to keep a lid on her and her second husband's (Parasite's Song Kang Ho) own scandal.

The more vacation-style setting, characters working as lower-level staff, and its focus on wealth divide can't help but make me think of The White Lotus, which is no criticism. See for yourself above.

"The intention with Beef was always to have it in anthology. We wanted the feeling of this season's beef to be a bit more passive-aggressive," showrunner Lee Sung Jin previously told Tudum. "It's more about the internal repression of rage that you see in the workplace."

"Austin and Ashley think all they need is each other and the beach. So when we meet them, they are thrust into intersecting with our millennial couple," Lee continues, noting that Josh and Lindsay have been together for many years by the time we meet them. "It'll be interesting to see with these two how they react to life's first real struggles."

Jamie Lee Curtis has confirmed that FX's hit chef show The Bear will end with its upcoming fifth season, but it looks like the star might have leaked that information a little early.

The actor shared the news on Instagram alongside a picture of herself and co-star Abby Elliott on the set of The Bear season 5. The caption reads, "FINISHED STRONG! Surrounded by an extraordinary crew and group of writers and producers and scene partners on the show that Chris Storer created, completing the story of this extraordinary family that we have all fallen in love with."

Fans immediately flooded the comments with questions asking if the show really is ending with season 5, as that is certainly a piece of information they, or any of us, have not heard before. FX has yet to address the matter.

Then, Access Hollywood caught up with the star, asking if she really meant to say that the show was ending. "But everybody’s confirmed the show is ending. I don’t understand why that’s such a [big deal]," said Curtis. "Unless I’m gonna get a call from all the people saying, ‘You just told [everyone],’ I think everybody understood that it was the last season of the show. If it isn’t, then I’ve completely blown it."

The Bear first premiered in 2022 and follows Jeremy Allen White as a successful chef who returns home to run his family-owned restaurant. The story explores the chef's tense family dynamics and the trials that come along with operating a restaurant. The cast also includes Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Molly Gordon, with Curtis making guest appearances in recent seasons.

Prime Video's upcoming Life is Strange TV series has cast its Chloe and Max.

Per Variety, My Old Ass star Maisy Stella will play Chloe with newcomer Tatum Grace Hopkins set to play Max.

The series was first announced back in September 2025, with The End of the F***ing World creator Charlie Covell on board as head writer, executive producer, and showrunner. Square Enix, Amazon MGM Studios, and Story Kitchen are all producing alongside Margot Robbie's LuckyChap production banner.

Per the official logline, the show will follow Max, "a photography student, who discovers she can rewind time while saving the life of her childhood best friend, Chloe. As she struggles to understand this new skill, the pair investigate the mysterious disappearance of a fellow student, uncovering a dark side to their town that will ultimately force them to make an impossible life or death choice that will impact them forever.”

Life is Strange is a series of adventure games first released back in 2015. The first game was released as five separate episodes for several different consoles including the PS3, PS4, and Xbox One, and follows an 18-year-old named Max Caulfield (voiced by Hannah Telle) who has the ability to rewind time and ends up saving the life of a woman who turns out to be Chloe Price, her childhood best friend. The critically acclaimed game spawned five more installments with the latest, Life is Strange: Double Exposure, releasing in 2024. A sequel to Double Exposure, titled Reunion, is scheduled for release in March.

Maisy Stella, who is one half of the country music duo Lennon and Maisy, had a starring role on the hit TV drama Nashville from 2012-2018 and is perhaps best known for playing Aubrey Plaza's younger self in the coming-of-age comedy My Old Ass. She can be seen next starring alongside Anne Hathaway in Flowervale Street. Life is Strange marks the first ever on screen appearance for Hopkins, though her previous theatre credits include Broadway productions The Queen of Versailles and For the Girls.

God of War's Kratos actor Ryan Hurst has offered up a puzzling response to the first look at the Prime Video show.

Hurst, who portrays the towering deity in Amazon's adaptation of Santa Monica Studios' mythological action series, left a simple message on social media for those disappointed by the glimpse of Kratos and Atreus during the start of production: "Don’t believe everything you see on the internet, kids."

The first image – taken from filming, but not necessarily indicative of the God of War TV show itself – sees Hurt's Kratos crouching over Atreus (Callum Vinson) as he gets set to fire a bow and arrow. It was rapidly met with displeasure online, with some on social media comparing it to an SNL skit or an AI-generated image.

Whether Hurst is referring to the first look (without color grading and other post-production magic) not being reflective of what's to come or something else entirely, it's a slightly confusing gambit from a show that has nailed everything else so far, from its pitch-perfect casting to bringing Outlander showrunner Ronald D. Moore on board.

Despite the lukewarm reaction from fans, it's also worth noting that Santa Monica Studio's Cory Barlog is operating as executive producer. Moore's words on Barlog's involvement even evokes the role Todd Howard has on another acclaimed Amazon video game adaptation – the Fallout show.

"I've had several meetings with Cory, and you ask Cory, 'Well, tell me about the backstory of this or how this works,' and he just can talk because he holds it all in his head," Moore told told Collider at last year's San Diego Comic-Con.

Moore continued, "And I usually pride myself about, as a showrunner, I can hold the season in my head. I know what the 10 episodes are, and I can tell you about them.

"Cory can tell you the whole thing in every possible way – all the mythology, how it connects one to the other, what the puzzles were, why they did this, and what that artifact did. It's really impressive. I mean, it is like a gigantic novel, even bigger than the Outlander novels, which is a lot to digest."

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 1 has concluded, and it's safe to say there's one big question on every viewers' lips: so, is Dunk actually a knight? Well, according to showrunner Ira Parker, the answer to that was deliberately left "ambiguous" in the spin-off by request of Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin.

In episode 6, titled 'The Morrow', we see Duncan (Peter Claffey) ask his mentor Ser Arlan (Danny Webb) why he never knighted him in a flashback – only to never receive an answer, since Arlan seemingly dies shortly after. Though the show leaves the exact timeline of that fairly open-ended, too, which makes way for fans' imaginations to fill in their own blanks with certain theories, says Parker.

"We think it's over. But then, he's back and, as far as we know, the continuation of that scene is, 'Boy, go get me my sword,' and then he knights him," he teased in a new interview with Collider. "There is no confirmation, one way or the other, coming out of that scene. That's exactly how Mr. R.R. Martin requested it. It remains [ambiguous], and people can decide for themselves.

"Look, Danny Webb is a fucking magician. I love him so much. He's just become Arlan. It could have been no one else in this whole world. He was just pitch perfect, all the way up until his death. This whole journey is going to be about what makes a true knight, whether or not you're given the title, or if you have to earn the title even after you're given it. Can you earn it, even if you've never been given it?"

Also starring Daniel Ings, Finn Bennett, Tanzyn Crawford, and Dexter Sol Ansell as Dunc's young squire Aegon 'Egg' Targaryen, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms was renewed for a second season before season 1's premiere in November 2025.

Breaking Bad masterpiece Ozymandias has lost its perfect 10/10 IMDb score after a bizarre review bombing war with A Knight of the Seven Kingdom fans

With A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' fifth episode, titled 'In the Name of the Mother', quickly rising up the IMDb rankings with a 9.9 score upon release, Breaking Bad fans took it upon themselves to make sure no one would dethrone the AMC crime series by slapping the Game of Thrones spin-off with multiple one-star scores.

In return, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms viewers have given them, as one wrote, a "taste of their own medicine" with a flurry of low scores. Ozymandias has now shifted from a 10/10 score to 9.9/10, though it still retains its position as the highest-rated television episode of all time.

Ozymandias, from Breaking Bad's final season, sees the net close in on meth cooker-turned-drug kingpin Walter White (Bryan Cranston) – culminating in fatal consequences in the Albuquerque desert.

When taking into account other episodes with large voting pools, the rest of the top five, as of writing, includes the Breaking Bad finale, Game of Thrones 'The Battle of the Bastards', and two Attack on Titan episodes. Other shows that feature episodes that have been bestowed with a 9.9 score include Six Feet Under, BoJack Horseman, and Better Call Saul.

All told, it amounts to a silly war between two fandoms who should be celebrating great television. Period. But that's unlikely to stop the squabbling and back-and-forth as both episodes rise and fall in the rankings.

Yellowjackets star Sophie Nélisse has shared a cryptic clue about what fans can expect from the thriller show's fourth season, hinting that the final batch of episodes will "stay true" to season 1.

"Obviously, there's a lot of pressure coming into this season knowing it's the last one," she told The Hollywood Reporter, in between promoting hit hockey series Heated Rivalry and new horror movie Whistle. "We all feel a lot of responsibility in offering the audience a season that will live up to the expectations. That we'll close out the show, but stay true to the very first season, honoring all of the episodes at the same time.

"I think it'll be a really fun one," Nélisse, who plays teen Shauna, added. "Luckily, the showrunners have had time to write it and I think are very committed to putting in their all, so it's very bittersweet." She also confirmed that filming will officially kick off at the end of February.

While we're not sure Nélisse is being literal in drawing a link between season 4 and season 1, nods to early episodes and subplots wouldn't be out of place in Yellowjackets given its dual timeline. The show has tended to flit to relevant past events as the older versions of the plane crash survivors – played by Melanie Lynskey, Lauren Ambrose, Juliette Lewis, Simone Kessell, Tawny Cypress, and Christina Ricci – work through deep-buried traumas. Though, up until now, it has typically moved forward chronologically, as tensions in both the '90s and '20s escalate.

That said, season 3 did see Natalie and co. learn that young Misty (Samantha Hanratty) destroyed the plane's emergency transponder way back in season 1, episode 2. With that, we can assume that other long-hidden secrets will come to light.

Might we see another cameo from Ella Purnell's Jackie, who froze to death at the end of season 1, too? We'll have to wait and see... At this stage, it's as much as mystery to the actors as it is to us fans, according to Nélisse, who says she has "no idea" how the story is going to wrap up yet.

"People are like, 'Give us spoilers.' I'm like, 'I wish I could.' I have nothing myself. They're very secretive about what happens in this show. We literally get the scripts two weeks before shooting an episode, sometimes even a week."

After three chaotic seasons, Hulu's hit college drama series Tell Me Lies has come to an end with its third season, just as the show was reaching great heights in popularity.

Showrunner Meaghan Oppenheimer broke the news on Instagram, writing, "After three amazing seasons of Tell Me Lies, tonight’s episode will be the series finale. This was always the ending that my writing team and I had in mind, and we are insanely proud of it." The final episode of Tell Me Lies, season 3 episode 8, landed on Hulu in the early hours of February 17, 2026.

The season ending so abruptly has come as a bit of a shock, as the show was just picking up overseas. However, Oppenheimer explained that although there was temptation in finding an "organic way to continue the story," due to overwhelming reception, the team "ultimately felt it had reached its natural conclusion." The showrunner added, "My main goal has always been to protect the quality of the show and give you the best experience I can give you."

Tell Me Lies follows college students Lucy and Stephen and their seriously unhealthy relationship, which permanently alters their lives and the lives of everyone around them. The show mostly takes place in 2008 at Baird University, but includes flashforwards to 2015, where we can see how the group's college years are still affecting them years later.

Season 1 premiered on Hulu on September 7, 2022, and was immediately met with positive reactions, earning the series a respectable 75% score on Rotten Tomatoes. But from then on, it has only been up. Deadline reported that Tell Me Lies season 3 generated 5 million views globally within its first week of streaming, marking a 150% rise in viewership from previous seasons. The same report found that Tell Me Lies' social accounts saw a 580% rise in engagement, too.

With those figures in mind, it's a wonder why the show is ending right at its peak when other platforms would be milking it for all it is worth. However, that is what is so refreshing about this situation. Instead of driving it into the ground, Hulu is mastering the art of knowing when to walk away, which other platforms can take note of.

The Last of Us actor Ashley Johnson, who surprised fans when she cameoed as Ellie's ill-fated mom Anna in the HBO TV show, says she "understands" the backlash to season 2 – but that "sometimes it feels not great" when players' passion for the games inspires such intense negativity.

When asked by The Direct about the response to the second chapter, Johnson, who brings Ellie to life in both Naughty Dog's The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part II, said: "Yeah, I feel like with The Last of Us, people really love that story, including me, and it's very, very passionate fans. And sometimes that passion feels really great, and sometimes it feels not great. But you know, I understand it. I understand loving something so much, and wanting it to be what you want it to be."

She added that she "loves" The Last of Us "in every form" and that she's "so happy" she gets to "be a part of that telling of the story."

Johnson went on: "It can be hard sometimes, when you are making these things, and on your side of things, you're passionate about it, and excited about it, and hopefully that those two things can meet. Sometimes they do not. And that's hard, because I mean, anytime you're working on anything, you want people to like it, and you want people to love it as much as you."

While The Last of Us season 1 followed the source material pretty faithfully, season 2 took more creative swings – deviating from the games in regards to its structure, pacing, and diluting Ellie's quest for revenge. It said goodbye to Pedro Pascal's Joel, too, of course, which will have shocked viewers who aren't familiar with the games.

Even before it premiered on April 13, 2025, Craig Mazin, one of the co-showrunners at the time, admitted that he anticipated "furor" at the new batch of episodes. "I mean, there usually is, starting even with casting," he explained candidly to Entertainment Weekly. "We are not interested in creating social media fear. We just want to tell the story the way we think it should be told."

Yellowjackets star Sophie Nélisse has promised fans they'll have the "ultimate blast" with the thriller show's fourth and final season – and shared her big, somewhat conflicted hope for Shauna Shipman going into the last-ever episodes.

"It feels very bittersweet," the actor tells GamesRadar+ when we ask her how she's feeling ahead of the shoot kicking off in February. "I feel like these women have shaped who I am today, because I got to grow up alongside them, learn so much from them. It's really heartbreaking to finish a show that we have grown to love so much, and it is a dream job; the collaborative process, the characters, the arcs. I couldn't be more fortunate to have been on this show for the last couple of years."

Yellowjackets season 3 featured its fair share of jaw-dropping moments, from Natalie discovering that Misty destroyed their plane's emergency transporter not long after they crash-landed in the '90s to Van and Lottie both being violently murdered in the present day. It concluded with adult Shauna's husband Jeff and daughter Callie leaving her, with the former desperate to distance their kid from the unstable environment Shauna has forged over the years. "Part of me wants her to keep being so cruel, but part of me wants her to to end the show with some sort of hope and redemption that feels [justified]. I know she's created a good fan base of haters," Nélisse laughs. "I kind of hope that she'll be able to regain a bit more Shauna defenders out there. But yeah, I think we're as excited as the audience to see what these scripts are going to look like, and I'm sure that the writers are really going to give it their all to finish this season in, like, an ultimate blast."

In the last few moments of the latest episode, 'Full Circle', Sophie Thatcher's Natalie manages to contact someone through a satellite phone, which suggests the team will be rescued early on in season 4. Having hardly spent time with the teens outside of the wilderness, it'll certainly be interesting to see what those first few days back home look like for them all.

Before Nélisse returns as Shauna, though, she's set to team up with Deadpool and Wolverine's Dafne Keen to fight off time-travelling evil entities in new supernatural horror Whistle. Directed by The Nun's Corin Hardy, the film follows an unwitting group of high-school students who speed up their own deaths after blowing on a Grim Reaper-summoning Aztec whistle.

Two years after season 3 set out to mark the end of the series, Apple TV has shared the first look at Ted Lasso season 4, which is hitting the streamer very soon.

In the first look images, which you can check out below, we can see Jason Sudeikis back as Ted, but this time he's coaching a women's football team alongside Sex Education star Tanya Reynolds. In another picture, we can see Ted reunited with Hannah Waddingham's character, Rebecca Welto,n standing outside of a private jet. So, we can assume the owner of the AFC Richmond soccer team is still successful.

The third image shows Ted enjoying some good old British grub at a pub, where he is being served by Mae Green (Annette Badland), owner of The Crown and Anchor pub in Richmond. As well as releasing the first look, Apple TV has also confirmed that Ted Lasso season 4 will release this summer 2026.

We all thought we had seen the last of the soccer show after its third instalment. Ted Lasso season 3 episode 12 titled 'So Long, Farewell,' saw Ted say his goodbyes and head back to the US after AFC Richmond played their final match of the season. However, due to popular demand, the series is back, but it will find Ted in a very different situation

The synopsis from Apple TV reads, "The fourth season will see Ted return to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would."

Alongside Sudeikis, Waddingham, and Badland, stars Juno Temple, Jeremy Swift, Brendan Hunt, and Brett Goldstein are also set to return.

Netflix is already wielding the axe in 2026, cutting big-name western The Abandons barely 50 days after its premiere on the streamer.

The series, starring Gillian Anderson and Lena Headey, followed the exploits of Fiona Nolan (Headey) as she butts up against the might of the Van Ness clan and their matriarch Constance (Anderson) in an 1850s America on the cusp of prosperity.

Despite the star attractions and the creative mind of Sons of Anarchy's Kurt Sutter behind the show, it seemingly failed to spark interest with audiences.

Even so, Netflix's own stats suggest it garnered 100 million hours watched inside its first month and nearly 20 million viewers – not bad for a show that debuted inside its first month and was fraught with behind-the-scenes issues. However, it has not fared well with critics or viewers in its reception, netting 30% among reviewers on Rotten Tomatoes and 52% with audiences.

The Abandons (which just about cracked Netflix's top 50 most-watched shows in 2025) saw Sutter leave just weeks before filming was due to wrap. Deadline reported there were "creative differences" amid eyebrows being raised by Netflix over a 100-minute cut of the first episode.

Netflix, meanwhile, continues to near its acquisition of Warner Bros. Co-CEO Ted Sarandos has indicated that a 45-day theatrical release will remain in place for cinematic Warner Bros. releases.

Elsewhere, the streamer has unveiled its exciting slate of Korean movies and shows for 2026, including romcom Boyfriend on Demand, starring Blackpink's Jisoo.

The streaming giant is adding 33 new movies and TV shows to its Korean catalog this year. Rom-com shows Can This Love Be Translated?, No Tail to Tell, and K-drama Undercover Miss Hong are already available to stream. Season 5 of reality show Single's Inferno premieres today, with mystery thriller The Art of Sarah and unscripted show Agents of Mystery 2 both arriving in February. Romantic comedy Boyfriend on Demand is also set to premiere in the first quarter of the year and stars Blackpink's Jisoo as a young woman who unexpectedly acquires a ‘Boyfriend on Demand' device that plunges her into a chaotic world of virtual dating. Other first-quarter releases include feature film Pavane and reality series Ready or Not: Texas.

Euphoria season 3 is coming, as the streaming series' highly anticipated return date has now been revealed along with a trailer that leans into the sex, drugs, and violence that have come to be the show's hallmark.

Following Zendaya's Rue Bennett as its primary POV character, Euphoria tells the tale of a group of high schoolers who are sucked into ever spiraling whirlwinds of drugs, crime, and even murder.

The trailer establishes a time jump between season 2 and season 3, with the main cast now having graduated high school "a few years" back. The trailer shows Rue still wrestling with addiction, apparently dealing pills while also trying to avoid the warring factions of criminals to whom she owes money.

There's apparently a bright light for Rue, however, as she seems to be finding religion in the turmoil of her rapidly unraveling life. At the same time however, her friends are getting more and more involved in sex work, leading Rue closer to a path she managed to avoid in season 2.

Euphoria has acted as something of a launching pad for some of the biggest current stars in the world, including Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, and of course Zendaya, all of whom have spun their Euphoria success into bigger and bigger roles across movies and other TV series.

After season 1 took the world by storm, Adolescence season 2 might be a possibility at Netflix.

The show stars Owen Cooper as a young boy accused of murdering his female classmate. Stephen Graham plays his father, and the show was co-created by Graham and Jack Thorne.

"I cannot answer that question because it's somewhere in the deep recesses of my mind and Jack's mind, and we'll pull it out in three or four years, so stay tuned," Graham said at the Golden Globes when asked if there was a chance for season 2, according to Deadline.

The chance for more Adolescence was first reported back in April 2025, with production company Plan B Entertainment co-president Dede Gardner saying they are "thinking about how they can widen the aperture, stay true to its DNA [and] not be repetitive."

Adolescence swept the Golden Globes, winning four awards, including Best Limited Series. Graham, Cooper, and Erin Doherty won acting awards for their roles.

The series is Netflix's second-biggest English-language TV show of all time, with 142.6 million views.

At the moment, it's unclear what the future of the show might look like, though season 1 tackled the rise of the manosphere online.

Adolescence drew praise and critical acclaim, and its fans even include Hideo Kojima. "A masterful fusion of meticulously calculated one-shot cinematography and direction that draws out the show’s core themes," he has said of the show. "It vividly exposes the fear and anguish experienced by both children in their formative years and the families who watch over them."

Last words are hard. Ending a monster hit TV show satisfyingly is probably even harder. That's what makes "Humans are…," the final words of Lee Jung-jae's Seong Gi-hun, AKA Player 456, so particularly striking. Not only do those two words bring this iconic character's journey to an end, but they also perfectly – and poignantly – encapsulate the entire Netflix series.

In the final episode of Squid Game season 3, Gi-hun is put in an impossible position when the last game comes down to him, player Myung-gi, and Baby 222. For anyone to survive this final round, one of them must die. It's made even harder by Myung-gi, the baby's father, immediately going on the offensive. A fight ensues, and in the chaos, Myung-gi is killed – but in a breathtakingly brutal twist, nobody ever pressed the button to start the round, meaning his death was entirely in vain. That leaves Gi-hun with yet another unthinkable choice: sacrifice himself, or the newborn baby.

Of course, anyone who's been paying attention knew Gi-hun would never sacrifice the child. The shock instead comes when there's no last-minute reprieve, and the words no one wanted to hear are finally spoken: Player 456, eliminated.

Winner takes all

Gi-hun's death was always going to be seismic, and it was always going to be upsetting, too. But what adds so much weight to the moment is Gi-hun's choice of last words: "We are not horses. We are humans. Humans are…"

The line brings the whole show full circle. It harkens back to the season 1 finale, in which the Front Man told Gi-hun that the contestants in these sadistic games are merely horses to bet on. It also references the old, gambler-addict Seong Gi-hun we met in the very first episode, who transformed completely over the course of the show. Most importantly, it's an incredibly succinct summation of the show's entire ethos that all human beings are worthy of dignity and respect, and that all human beings are capable of being selfless, caring people, despite living in the ruthless capitalist structure the show critiques.

In season 3, this central question about the nature of humanity – and whether it's worth having faith in humankind or not – is pushed to its absolute limit. Even Gi-hun, who is usually a shining light in this regard, falters when, in the aftermath of his ill-planned (and ill-fated) rebellion, he is so thoroughly broken he murders former friend Dae-ho with his bare hands.

Through the birth of Jun-hee's Baby 222, Gi-hun slowly regains some of his old spark. He protects the infant at all costs after Jun-hee is unable to cross the jump rope bridge, and he defends the newborn when the other players grotesquely want her killed so they can increase their share of the prize money. But by the finale, Gi-hun is surrounded only by enemies, with all of his allies eliminated. This should be the moment is faith in humanity completely breaks, and yet, when the Front Man offers him a deal – murder his fellow players in their sleep and escape with his life and the baby – Gi-hun refuses, because, as the memory of Sae-byeok emotionally reminds him, he's "not that kind of person."

Gi-hun goes into the final game with the knowledge this is probably where his luck runs out, along with the knowledge that everyone still alive wants him and the baby dead. Even the baby's own father tries to kill her for the money. Here, Gi-hun's faith in humanity really should have been thoroughly crushed. Glimmers of his old self crept through the latter half of the season, but how could anyone see what he sees in the final two episodes and still think humanity has a chance?

That's what makes his sacrifice, and his final words, so profoundly affecting. Despite everything, Gi-hun still believes in humankind. It's so shocking, and so moving, that even the VIPs are speechless, and the Front Man – under threat from the coast guard, granted – hits the self-destruct button on the whole game, completing Gi-hun's mission for him.

Time to say goodbye

None of this would be half as meaningful without the deeply impactful performance of Lee Jung-jae. His final words are delivered straight down the camera, and Lee embodies all of Gi-hun's furious defiance and tender-hearted compassion to deliver a moment that made me sob. Gi-hun has always been the heart and soul of Squid Game, and Lee has brought so much earnestness to the character that he feels like a real person, which makes his death all the more heartbreaking.

It's also fitting that the line is unfinished. In my interpretation, I thought Gi-hun's sacrifice was the beautifully eloquent ending to his half-sentence, expressing that humans are capable of this kind of selflessness even in the midst of so much horror. It turns out this is how series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk saw it, too, revealing in Netflix's Squid Game in Conversation show that he couldn't fit everything he wanted to say into one line, and that being too explicit would only "limit the message itself." So, instead, he "decided the rest of what [he] wanted to say would instead be expressed physically by Gi-hun through his actions, through his deeds, and the sacrifice he makes to save that child."

In the end, "Humans are…" is many things: the final words of Player 456, the thematic culmination of one of the biggest shows in the world, and a succinct, thought-provoking line that's wide open to interpretation. Humans are whatever you think they are, but Squid Game's final thoughts on the matter are clear – and that's why Seong Gi-hun's and Squid Game's goodbye is so moving.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reboot has drawn to a close after four seasons, but not before a surprising meta cameo signed off the Peacock streaming series in style.

In the eighth episode of Bel-Air's final season, Will Smith (Jamari Banks) is heading back to Philadelphia to enrol in college. But before he can leave Los Angeles for the City of Brotherly Love, he takes one last look back at the skyline. Then, the Will Smith – presumably a future version of Banks' character – appears and dishes out some much-needed advice to the iteration of the character he made famous back in the 1990s.

"You're going to mess some things up and do some dumb shit, but you’re human," the elder Will Smith tells Banks' Will Smith. "You’ll learn, you’ll grow, and just live and laugh and cry… Life goes by fast. Try to enjoy the ride."

From there, Will Smith disappears just as quickly as he entered – with Banks' Will getting ready for the next pivotal stage of his life.

"Since day one, that was always something that we wanted to do, and it was just a matter of finding the right moment," Bel-Air creator Morgan Cooper told The Wrap of the climactic moment. "And for that to be the final moment of the series just felt so right. It all led up to that, but was always in the cards.”

Next up for Will Smith (the actor, to be clear) is reprising another role in I Am Legend 2 alongside Michael B. Jordan, though there's still no word on a release date.

Hideo Kojima, AKA the king of Twitter film reviews, has selected his best TV show of 2025, and it's a Netflix surprise hit that took over the internet back in March.

According to Kojima, the best TV show of 2025 is Netflix's Adolescence. The Death Stranding creator made his pick as part of Vulture's 'The Culturati 50' list, where fifty industry creatives selected the year's best shows, movies, and pop culture moments. Adolescence received the most votes, taking the top spot in the series section.

"A masterful fusion of meticulously calculated one-shot cinematography and direction that draws out the show’s core themes," said Kojima. "It vividly exposes the fear and anguish experienced by both children in their formative years and the families who watch over them."

This is not the first time Kojima has praised the series. On March 23, Kojima took to Twitter, writing, "I watched the first episode of Adolescence on Netflix. It’s good. It’s impressive. It’s filmed in a single continuous shot from start to finish… The characters, drama, and mystery are all brilliantly portrayed. I have to keep watching this."

Created by Harry Potter and the Cursed Child's writer Jack Thorne and This is England star Stephen Graham, the series follows a family whose world is turned upside down when their 13-year-old son Jamie is arrested for the murder of a girl in his school. The show deals with very real issues, such as the dangers of social media and consuming harmful, misogynistic material online at a young age. However, as Kojima points out, it is mostly filmed in real time, giving it an even more realistic feel.

As it stands, Adolescence has a 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes and is Netflix's second most popular English-language show after Wednesday, pulling in 142.6 million viewers in its first 91 days on the streamer, as per Tudum. The show received thirteen Emmy nominations and won in multiple categories, including Best Lead Actor for Graham and Best Supporting Actor for Owen Cooper, who plays troubled teen Jamie. Vulture states that over 50% of voters also said that star Owen Cooper gave the best performance of the year, too.

Mad Men fans were delighted when HBO announced back in November that it would be releasing the hit drama in 4K on Max the following month. Well, now it's streaming, but unfortunately the super sleek restoration seems to have come with some unexpected issues, including one heck of a post-production goof.

As pointed out by user b345tbr34th on Reddit and "Johnny" on Twitter, two crew members holding a fake vomit machine can be seen in a shot during the first season's seventh episode 'Red in the Face'. In the scene, John Slattery's Roger throws up in front of some clients after indulging himself at a boozy lunch and then being forced to climb the office's 23 flights of stairs. Obviously, Slattery couldn't puke on cue, so a little behind-the-scenes magic involving some sick-like substance and a tube had to be worked.

"How is a mistake like that even possible lmao," one replier wrote on Reddit, prompting another to chime in: "It can be caused by changes in aspect ratio. Things that were formerly out-of-frame are in-frame with the changes. I know Friends had a bunch of scenes with random stand-ins for the main cast.

"In this case, it looks like they digitally removed the crew in the original version, but used the pre-altered version for HBO Max."

"If this was a true 4K remaster, which would involve rescanning the 35MM negative, any post production work done at the time, like digitally removing these crew members, would have to be re-done… or perhaps in this case, missed," added another.

Elsewhere, tuner-inners have claimed that some of the episodes and their titles are jumbled up, too. "Are the episodes out of order as well?" wrote one confused subscriber. "I tried to find this and it was under episode 1.6 on HBO MAX app on my iPad. Episode 1.5 "5G" isn't the episode that plays. It is skipped. Maybe it is somewhere else in season 1 by mistake."

This isn't the first time HBO has had to own up to such errors. Back in 2019, the US network aired 'The Last of the Starks', the fourth episode in Game of Thrones' final season. In one shot, eagle-eyed fans spotted a Starbucks-like coffee cup in front of Emilia Clarke's Daenerys during the Winterfell feast.

"In response to inquiries from those who saw a craft services coffee cup in Sunday night's episode of Game of Thrones," HBO responded in jest. "The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake. Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea." We can't wait to see if they address this in a similarly humorous way...

Hulu's Kim Kardashian-starring show All's Fair has been renewed for season 2. The renewal comes as a bit of a surprise as the show debuted to a 0% critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which has since climbed to 3%, spawning a series of clips that went viral for being, frankly, terrible. Is this an example of a show actually managing to attract viewers, or is it another example of what I'll call the "Morbius effect?"

What is the Morbius effect, you ask? Well, back in 2022, Sony's Jared Leto-led superhero bomb Morbius had a particularly poor showing in its initial theatrical run. However, the studio infamously mistook the movie's presence as a meme to be mocked on social media as some kind of positive word of mouth, perhaps envisioning it as a "midnight movie" candidate, re-releasing the film to even worse reception.

That seems to be partially what's happening with All's Fair, which managed to rake in viewers despite almost catastrophically bad reviews, some of which named it as one of the worst dramas of all time (certainly one of the worst things multi-award-winning co-star Glenn Close has been involved in).

Many viewers were ironically attracted to the show by particularly ridiculous clips that went viral on social media, seemingly helping All's Fair to launch at number one on Hulu's charts, with the streamer announcing the series as its most-watched scripted TV debut in three years, according to THR.

That's not to discount a real audience for All's Fair, which has undoubtedly brought in viewers who are here for this particularly extreme example of creator Ryan Murphy's usually campy, over-the-top style, as the RT audience score has managed to hit 66%.

Speaking personally, I skipped the show. Kardashian's turn in American Horror Story was, let's say, not for me. And Murphy's other recent series, Monster: The Ed Gein Story played so fast and loose with combining reality and fiction that I found it nearly irresponsible.

Will All's Fair take off in season 2? Or is this a case of Hulu mistaking a set of meme-worthy clips for positive feedback and popularity? We won't know for sure until season 2 actually happens (whenever that is), but perhaps the show will find a sincere audience as it continues.

HBO Max has announced that Mad Men, one of the most critically acclaimed dramas of the 2000s, is heading to the streaming service – and will be available to watch in 4K for the very first time. Originally broadcast on cable network AMC, all seven seasons of the show will be available on HBO Max from December 1.

"Mad Men continues to show truly remarkable staying power with audiences a full decade after concluding its network run, and we couldn't imagine a better home for it than HBO Max," said Jim Packer, Lionsgate's president of worldwide television distribution. "HBO sets the bar for premium entertainment, making it the perfect place to celebrate one of television's defining series while introducing Mad Men to new viewers and reintroducing it to longtime fans in 4K."

Mad Men was created by showrunner Matthew Weiner and ran for seven seasons between 2007 and 2015, making stars of several members of its cast, including Jon Hamm, Elisabeth Moss, and Christina Hendricks. The show follows a team of advertising executives on New York's Madison Avenue – hence the show's name – in the 1960s.

Chief amongst these is Don Draper (Hamm), a veteran of the Korean War turned genius ad man. His knack for a clever slogan and insights into the lives of everyday people make him exactly what ad agency Sterling Cooper needs to become one of the most successful in the business. He has problems, though... While he seems professional at work, Don's personal life is a disaster and he's carrying a dark secret about his past.

Don isn't the only fascinating character in the show. Arguably the real protagonist is Peggy Olson (Moss), a young and ambitious secretary at Sterling Cooper who aims to rise through the ranks and become a fully-fledged creative.

Through Peggy, and several of the other female characters, including Christina Hendricks' formidable office manager Joan Holloway, the show charts the changing societal attitudes to women at work in that era. Peggy begins the show as the butt of every sexist quip imaginable and while we won't spoil the journey that she goes on, it's a story of empowerment that sees her outshine her male colleagues.

Despite its reputation, Mad Men isn't just a series about whisky-drinking, cigarette-smoking ad executives. It's a powerful depiction of post-war America moving into the swinging '60s – a very different era that brought huge societal changes to the United States, saw the shocking death of a President, and put men on the moon. It's also funny, frequently surprising, and a very human story with sublime performances and some of the best writing for TV ever.

Don't believe us? The show won four consecutive Best Drama Emmy awards, and notched up a staggering 116 nominations in its seven year run, making it one of the most acclaimed TV shows of all time. If you've not seen it before then now is your chance – and in 4K it will look better than ever.

After months of silence, it looks like David Fincher's US Squid Game series is still going ahead at Netflix, and cameras are set to start rolling very soon.

The upcoming series has been listed on the Film and Television Industry Alliance website, titled Squid Game: America. According to the site, the show is set to start filming on February 26, 2026, in Los Angeles, California.

Original Squid Game producer Kim Ji-yeon and director Hwang Dong-hyuk are listed as producers on Squid Game: America, alongside David Fincher, Zeus Zamani, and Rhett Giles. Dennis Kelly is down to pen the script. Cate Blanchett is the only cast member listed at this time.

The listing also features a new project description, which reads, "A US version of the Korean hit series, the spinoff is set in the same world but we get to see how the games are handled in America." This is not a huge surprise, as we knew the series would be set in the same world as the original series, but in America. But it's interesting that the games will still be played after what happened at the end of Squid Game season 3.

The original Squid Game series ended with main character Gi-hun sacrificing himself so that Player 222's baby could win. Afterwards, Front Man escapes with the baby before blowing up the island where the games are held. However, the finale then skips forward several months. Front Man is driving through LA when he spots a recruiter played by Blanchett in an alleyway, playing ddakji with another person. The recruiter and Front Man share a look, and the series comes to a close there.

The divisive ending left viewers feeling confused. However, there is no doubt that it set up the spin-off. But it is not clear whether the American version will fully mimic the original series. Are we going to watch another round of games play out until one person dismantles the twisted system? With Squid Game being the most popular TV show ever on Netflix, it is clear why the streamer would want to build on the franchise. We just hope the spin-off switches things up a bit.

As for Fincher, the Gone Girl and Fight Club director was linked to the project in 2024, with the filmmaker rumored to direct the series. No other cast members have been announced at this time. Although with Front Man in LA at the end of Squid Game season 3, we wonder if Lee Byung-hun will appear in the new show.

Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan has revealed that he was only able to watch one of the show's particularly bloody scenes once as it made him feel faint.

"The older I get, the less so I become interested in seeing violence," Gilligan said in conversation with Ghost of Yōtei's Jason Connell as part of Sony's Creator to Creator series.

"With Breaking Bad, we had a scene where Gustavo Fring, our main bad guy from the show, kills one of his henchmen with a boxcutter. I wasn't on the set when they shot it, but… I watched the director's cut, and when that moment happened… I don't like blood. I'm such a weenie, I watched this thing and I felt kind of faint," he continued.

"And I was like, 'You're the showrunner, this is a TV show, you know how they did it.' It looked so real that then in the editing I made myself watch it to make sure, okay, well, Adam [Bernstein, director] edited it great. And then every time the scene would come up in a sound mix or a color grading session or whatever, I'd watch only as much of it as I had to."

The episode in question is the season 4 premiere, fittingly titled 'Box Cutter.' After Walt orders Jesse to kill chemist Gale in the season 3 finale, the pair are forced to meet with Giancarlo Esposito's Gus Fring and face the consequences. In a shocking move, though, Fring gruesomely slices the throat of his loyal henchman Victor with a box cutter instead.

Gilligan's latest project is Pluribus, a new show starring Better Call Saul's Rhea Seehorn as Carol, one of the only people on Earth who's immune to a hive mind that has consumed the rest of humanity.

The verdict is in on Kim Kardashian's fascinatingly terrible new legal drama All's Fair – and critics are not kind, to put it mildly.

As of writing, All's Fair sits at the rare low score of 0% on Rotten Tomatoes. No, that's not a typo. The zeroes keep piling up elsewhere, too. It received zero stars in The Guardian and The Times, with the latter calling it possibly "the worst TV drama ever."

The Guardian's Lucy Mangan scathingly wrote of the Ryan Murphy production, "I did not know it was still possible to make television this bad. I assumed that there was some sort of baseline, some inescapable bedrock knowledge of how to do it that now prevents any entry into the art form from falling below a certain standard. But I was wrong." Ouch.

On Kim Kardashian's performance, Ed Power said in The Telegraph, "Even more striking than her lack of thespian chops… is her complete absence of screen presence. She has no aura, no unfiltered charisma. Forget an X factor, Kardashian has a Zzzzzz… quality that threatens to lull the unprepared viewer into a stupor whenever she opens her mouth."

In another savage kicking, USA Today declared All's Fair is "an embarrassingly terrible show with scripts worse than what Chat GPT was spitting out two years ago and acting worse than your local Christmas pageant."

All's Fair follows an absorbing premise, at least on paper. Kim Kardashian's Allura Grant heads up a team of divorce lawyers who set up an all-female law firm. If you were expecting juicy intrigue, Suits-style twists, and formidable fashionistas roaming the halls from a cast that includes Naomi Watts, Sarah Paulson, and Glenn Close, however, you may be left sorely disappointed.

If you're eager to see what the fuss – or lack thereof – is about, the first three episodes of All's Fair are now streaming on Disney Plus/Hulu.

Meanwhile, Ryan Murphy is working on the 13th season of American Horror Story, with Ariana Grande slated to join a cast that already features series regulars Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, and Kathy Bates.

IMDb finally has a second 'episode' with a perfect rating, and it's genuinely the last thing I expected.

Until recently, Breaking Bad's seminal 'Ozymandias' episode from season 5 stood as the only TV show to have the honor of a perfect 10/10 rating on the platform. Now, though, an iShowSpeed Fortnite stream titled 'Early Stream!' has joined it in the hallowed pantheon of the greats.

Even if you've never watched iShowSpeed, you're probably familiar with the streamer himself thanks to how many GIFs and clips are used as reaction memes online – many of which came from this very stream, which is why it's so iconic. Or, maybe you've heard about his IRL streams around the world, including China, the US, and Europe.

This stream is probably most famous for the "Speed trying not to laugh" moment, though there are countless others, too. "There's a new clip from this stream every week, genuinely a top 10 most influential stream ever," reads one popular take on the video.

On IMDb, the stream is listed with a runtime of 4 hours and 23 minutes and features a credited appearance from none other than Charles Darwin (archive footage, of course). "Famous Streamer IShowSpeed has an unexpectedly significant live stream where he mainly plays Fortnite," reads the description.

'Ozymandias' is widely regarded as one of the greatest TV show episodes of all time, and strangely itself has given rise to a very popular reaction meme: Bryan Cranston's Walter White falling to the ground in despair, pictured above. It's also the only TV show episode with a perfect rating on the site. (At the time of writing, the stream is categorized as a "video" on IMDb so it doesn't show up on the ranked list for either a TV show or movie, though we're classing it as an episode).

When you're 15 years into a franchise, it makes sense to start looking for unusual inspirations to keep things exciting for longtime fans. Ahead of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3's UK release date, showrunner David Zabel and director Daniel Percival have teased that everything from Clint Eastwood films to the history of the Spanish monarchy influenced the horror show's latest chapter.

"I grew up on the spaghetti westerns, and the Man with No Name movies that Sergio Leone did, and some other directors too, were always in my brain," Zabel tells GamesRadar+. "Once I knew we were going to be in the places where they filmed a lot of those, I thought, 'Let's lean into that even more.' And the story that we were coming up with lent itself to that kind of narrative, too – the sort of 'strangers in town' thing.

"For us as writers, it was more looking at the history of the culture and the government of Spain," he adds. "Our stories mostly came from saying, like, 'Well, how can we do something with the history of the Spanish monarchy? How can we do something that references the Civil War? How can we talk about the Basque separatist movement?' How would the past manifest itself in the present?"

The new installment, which premiered in the US back in September, sees Carol (Melissa McBride) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) find themselves in Spain, after a failed attempt to sail back to the US from England. There, they stumble across a couple of young survivors who've recently fled their community, Solaz del Mar, to avoid being split up by its archaic customs.

With Carol severely injured, they convince the reluctant lovers to take them back to Solaz del Mar, promising to help them escape again once she's fighting fit. A vow that proves difficult when the newcomers' unapproved arrival stokes up drama inside the medieval city's guarded walls.

"We create mood boards for each new season to give all the departments a guide, and spaghetti westerns were definitely a big thing here," says Percival. "Sergio Leone, and beyond that, to John Ford and even David Lean and seeing how filmmakers in the past have set characters within these hostile landscapes. Then more recent films like The Revenant and, you know, Mexican-made westerns, if you like, which is really where a lot of filmmakers are very skillful at creating a very intimate environment in a very wide, open landscape."

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3 was partly inspired by one of the original show's most heartbreaking subplots, says executive producer Greg Nicotero.

With the central duo having fled an infected-filled France via the Channel Tunnel, the spin-off's latest chapter kicks off with them arriving in England – only for them to hitch a ride on a sailboat with Stephen Merchant's lonely survivor and crash land in Spain. There, Carol (Melissa McBride) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) stumble across a curious community, Solaz del Mar, and forge their own relationships (and storylines) with certain characters.

Some might think it's an unusual choice to not have the besties joined at the hip in the new episodes of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, given the fact that season 2 was all about Carol desperately trying to find Daryl. But Nicotero believes that their occasional separation is what makes them so strong as a unit.

"The chemistry that Norman and Melissa have is undeniable," he tells GamesRadar+, ahead of the show's return in the UK on October 24. "You know, I remember back on season two – and I'm talking season two of The Walking Dead – when Daryl's mission is to find Sophia, and it's four or five episodes of him out on his own looking for this little girl. It just made those characters so endearing to each other, and to viewers."

Any Walking Dead fan worth their salt won't need to hop on Wikipedia to remind themselves of the time when Daryl, who barely spoke a word to Rick and co in those early days, took it upon himself to bring back Carol's missing daughter, Sophia. The latter got lost during a walker attack as the gang heads towards Fort Benning in the season 2 opener. A friendship-defining moment for Carol and Daryl then arrives in episode 4, when he gifts her a Cherokee Rose flower he finds during his search and encourages her not to give up hope.

In episode 7, it's heartbreakingly revealed that Sophia got bitten while she was out there alone, having been rounded up with other walkers and put in Hershel's barn.

"I think what we've done in the subsequent years was take advantage of the chemistry that the actors have and the way the characters are written – they're complete characters on their own but when they're together, it's a different dynamic," Nicotero continues. "It's like taking two different ingredients and pouring them together and they explode. But they're both viable on their own. It's always important to pay tribute to who those characters are individually, and then have them interact together as well. And that's what the show does. The show will sometimes take Daryl off in one way, and Carol off in a different direction, and both of their stories are meaningful, but we know that the intention is to bring them back together somehow."

"What's happening while they're apart is really the heart of the show; that's kind of what's going on," Reedus adds. "There's this dialogue that we added early on... When we're walking into London, where I say to her, 'All we do is run and fight. Maybe there's a better way. Maybe we're doing this wrong.' I think it's in some of the trailers, too. Well, that seed sort of turns into a tree, which is a lot of [seasons] three and four, you know what I mean? So when we're apart, the tree gets more water."

Dexter: Original Sin creator Clyde Phillips has finally spoken out after Paramount Plus renewed and then subsequently un-renewed the prequel for a second season.

"It was a tough phone call that I got that night. They had already picked up the show, and I'd informed all the writers and informed all the actors, and then they un-picked it up," Phillips told the Dissecting Dexter podcast. "It wasn’t handled well, and I’m not happy about it."

It was announced back in April that the show would return for a second season, with Deadline reporting that a season 2 writers' room was already being set up, and that filming would begin in early 2026. In August, however, it was announced that the streamer would no longer go ahead with the show. Phillips said that, though it hasn't officially been cancelled, this means that the Trinity Killer spin-off series will likely be canned as well – despite being in development for over a year. The showrunner also stated that the cancellation has to do with Paramount's merger with Skydance.

Dexter: Original Sin follows a young Dexter Morgan (Paddy Gibson) as he transitions from student to vigilante serial killer. He grows close to his adoptive father, Harry (Christian Slater), who helps him channel his inner darkness. If you've seen the original Showtime series, Harry helps him design a 'special code' to help him kill other killers...and without getting caught. However, this becomes a particular challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department – which ends up making him a pro at being a vigilante in the long run.

As it stands, it looks like Paramount Plus will go ahead with another revival season of Dexter, having seen success with New Blood and Resurrection.

Fans have been reminiscing about Robert Redford's final on-screen appearance after the legendary actor's death at the age of 89.

While much was made of his latter career appearances in the MCU, it was a quick cameo on AMC series Dark Winds (on which he was a producer) that served as Redford's final farewell to acting.

As you can see below, Redford plays a prisoner alongside fellow producer George R.R. Martin in the drama that follows a handful of Navajo Tribal Police. With the pair behind bars, they engage in a hard-fought game of chess, with Redford's character quipping, "George, the whole world's waiting. Make a move" – surely a sly nod to Martin's continued troubles finishing off The Winds of Winter, the latest book in The Song of Ice and Fire series. See it for yourself below.

Director Chris Eyre revealed to Vulture that the line was ad-libbed, adding that Redford "was so nice on the day" during filming of the season 3 premiere moment, which also featured Zach McClarnon's Joe Leaphorn interjecting with some much-needed chess advice.

Redford, perhaps best known for 1969's Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and as the founder of the Sundance Film Festival, passed away on September 16. In the wake of his death, Hollywood greats have paid tribute – including Meryl Streep and Barbra Streisand, who described Redford as "one of the finest actors ever."

George R.R. Martin, meanwhile, is still plugging away at Winds of Winter after 13 years, recently lamenting it as the "curse of my life", though he admitted that he has "periods" where he makes progress.

Life is Strange is getting the live-action treatment, and fans have already begun to narrow down their dream casting for lead character Max Caulfield.

Of course, live-action fan casts for the series have been making the rounds online since the first game was released in 2015. Things ramped up, however, after the TV show announcement. In one particularly popular tweet, one fan asked who should play lead character Max Caulfield, suggesting Wednesday's Emma Myers, IT star Sophia Lillis, and Alien: Romulus star Cailee Spaeny.

The majority of the replies say Myers "without a doubt" and "100 percent." Funny enough, Myers previously told Seventeen that Max was one of her dream roles, saying only a month ago, "I heard rumors that they were doing a Life Is Strange adaptation. I don’t know if that’s actually true, but it would be really fun." The actor is best known for playing Enid Sinclair, Wednesday's perky, pink-wearing werewolf roommate on the hit Netflix show Wednesday.

It was announced last week that a live-action TV show based on the series was headed to Prime Video, with The End of the F***ing World creator Charlie Covell serving as head writer, executive producer, and showrunner. The story follows an 18-year-old named Max Caulfield who has the ability to rewind time, and her relationship with her childhood best friend Chloe.

Though no recent fan-castings for Chloe have cropped up, previous ones have included Ruby Cruz (Bottoms), Yellowjackets star Sophie Thatcher, and Jack Haven, who is best known for starring in Atypical and I Saw the TV Glow.

Following the recent announcement that Life is Strange is being adapted into a series, the game's writer Christian Divine has revealed that the show has left the original creative team out.

Divine, who developed the game and its sequel alongside Jean-Luc Cano at Dontnod Entertainment, spoke out against the adaptation on social media. "The only people not involved are the creators," he wrote on Twitter, reacting to Amazon MGM Studios' original post.

This news is not sitting well with fans of the game. "This makes me sad, seeing this awesome game being milked like that," said one user. Others felt "disappointed" while remaining "curious" about the upcoming adaptation thanks to the promising creator behind it.

The End of the F***ing World creator Charlie Covell is serving as the series' head writer, executive producer, and showrunner for Amazon. Square Enix, Story Kitchen and Margot Robbie's production banner LuckyChap will produce.

"It's a huge honor to be adapting Life Is Strange for Amazon MGM Studios," Covell said in a statement. "I am a massive fan of the game, and I'm thrilled to be working with the incredible teams at Square Enix, Story Kitchen and LuckyChap. I can't wait to share Max and Chloe's story with fellow players and new audiences alike."

For many fans, however, not having the game's original creators as part of the team could be a bad sign, but we'll have to wait and see.

Due to increased production costs, actors' busy schedules, and select streamers preferring to create new shows rather than nurture existing ones, it's not unusual these days for audiences to have to wait several years between seasons of their favorite TV series – and well, The Walking Dead boss Scott Gimple isn't into it.

When Stranger Things season 5 eventually drops on Netflix, it'll have been three years and four months since we last saw the Hawkins gang. In 2026, when The Boys returns on Prime Video and House of the Dragon is back on HBO, viewers would've been sitting pretty for two years. On the flip side, The Walking Dead fans are gearing up for the release of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3 on September 7... with season 2 having concluded in November 2024.

"I think there are certain core elements of television that are oddly being left behind for, to me, no discernible reason," he tells GamesRadar+. "The Walking Dead, just as a case study, was shot pretty much – up until COVID, that changed some things – May/June to October/November. Come Hell or high water, that's what we did, because we needed to have a regular output of shows for an audience to expect and to frame their life by. I'm fully soapboxing now. I believe television is at its best when it forms that connection with an audience, when they can, you know, set their watch by when it's going to be on."

After The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2 concluded with Carol (Melissa McBride) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) using the Chunnel to flee to England, season 3 will see the duo wind up in rural Spain. There, they meet a ragtag team of survivors who've set up shop in Solaz del Mar, a seemingly civilized community harboring sinister alliances and upholding twisted traditions.

"I don't know if I'll sound like an old man, I don't think that's it, but I think YouTube has really stolen that from television. Your favorite YouTuber pretty much comes out with their videos at the same time every week. Even podcasts are the same way, and it's that relationship to an audience, that ritual that's established, I think that's so important to what TV is," Gimple continues.

"Yes, COVID was difficult for everyone; that kind of shook everything up. We really tried to stabilize back into a regular schedule of programming, where audiences can expect when we're on. I'm very proud that all of these, all of these shows that we're doing – we're doing two [Daryl Dixon and Dead City] now – have trended up in the number of episodes that we give audiences. I'd love to give them more, but having at least a couple months of programming for them coming out of a regular schedule. That, to me, is the dream. I mean, the dream is four months, but I'll settle for two right now."

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3 premieres on September 7 on AMC and AMC Plus in the US. Fans across the pond should expect the first episode to drop a few days later – though we'll be sure to keep you posted on an exact release date.

The Walking Dead fans are well-versed in saying goodbye to their favorite survivors on screen. The long-running franchise has never been afraid to off main characters, demonstrating just how dangerous this post-apocalyptic world can be. Some deaths, though, sting harder than others.

Warning! Spoilers for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2 ahead!

Some hurt because we'd grown so fond of the newly-deceased (Tyreese), or because of their extreme brutality (Glenn). Others? Well, because we felt cheated of the time we could've spent with them, and the storylines that might have happened had they stuck around. Isabelle, Clémence Poésy's character, who shockingly met her demise in episode 4 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2 is a prime example of the latter – but it's a plot point actor Norman Reedus assures still-disappointed fans will "mean something down the road" in the horror spin-off's upcoming third season.

"It was one of those things that Daryl went through, but it didn't have enough time," Reedus tells GamesRadar+ ahead of season 3's premiere on September 7. "Like 'it might have gone there', you know? That thing that I was talking about coming through the tunnel [in episode 1, when Daryl says to Carol], 'All we do is run and fight, maybe there's something better'? That better is happening all around him, except for him. It was another thing that Daryl can't have.

Having shared a quiet, unspoken attraction across The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 1, Daryl and former nun Isabelle finally shared a kiss in the second season's second episode. It was a big moment for the character and fans alike, given that Daryl's only had one, very brief romance in the original series – and that started and ended in an one-episode flashback back in season 10. (I'm still mad that Daryl and Connie were never officially A Thing). By the end of episode 4, Isabelle had been fatally stabbed by big bad Genet's secret ally Losang (Joel de la Fuente).

"He had a little taste, so that's sort of changing his perception of what home is," Reedus continues. "Because, I mean, the truth is, if we were trying to get back home every episode, we'd just be looking for another boat every episode. Instead we get wrapped up in these other people's lives, and hopefully we learn something from them, and it changes our perspective. Everything's cause and effect.

"That storyline with Isabelle is one of those things that resonates with him. Like, maybe he could find that, maybe he could have that? Does he deserve that? You know, it's a big part of the story. It was always planned to be a big part later. So, you know, someone that watched the Isabelle story and they go, 'Oh, they killed her too soon'; it resonates and it's going to mean something down the road," he concludes. "A lot of people on the internet, they throw these things out there, but if you think about it, it all resonates. Everything has resonated so far."

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3 premieres on September 7 on AMC and AMC Plus in the US. Fans across the pond should expect the first episode to drop a few days later – though we'll be sure to keep you posted on an exact release date.

House of the Dragon star Olivia Cooke has teased what to expect from the Game of Thrones spin-off's next chapter, and now we're even more excited for season 3.

"Well, I think I can say... it starts off with a bang," the actor told Collider, while promoting her upcoming series The Girlfriend. "The first two [episodes] were essentially supposed to be our finale last year. So you can just imagine coming into that sort of energy. It's bigger and more ferocious than ever before."

Cooke, who'll be back as Alicent Hightower in the new installment, was hesitant to say more – but her comments echo showrunner Ryan Condal's previous hints, which is sure to please fans who were left disappointed by the show's quieter season 2.

"Every day I walk around [the set] and look at the things that we're building and the things that we're doing and the number of costumes and extras and all that," he explained on his and co-host David Mandel's podcast 'The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of' (via ComicBook.com). "I knew it was bigger than season 2, but I don't think I realized quite how much."

Set 200 years before Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon centers on the tensions between the Targaryens and the Hightowers, as the former's once all-powerful dominion over the Seven Kingdoms begins to crumble. Spanning two decades, season 1 saw King Viserys Targaryen (Paddy Considine) break tradition and name his daughter Rhaenyra (Superman's Milly Alcock/Emma D'Arcy) as heir to the Iron Throne, much to the dismay of his entitled brother Daemon (Matt Smith). Rhaenyra's ascension is complicated, though, when Viserys has a son with the scheming Alicent.

Season 2 tracks the families' escalating conflict, following the death of Rhaenyra's son and the coronation of King Aegon II, as several members call for an all-out war in an attempt to prove their power and take control of Westeros.

The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey has responded to some of the second season's most vocal critics.

"I try to steer clear as much as I [can], to be honest," Ramsey told The Awardist podcast of the vociferous response to parts of The Last of Us season 2.

"You don't have to watch it. If you hate it that much, the game exists. You can just play the game again. If you do want to watch it, hope you enjoy it."

Co-creator Craig Mazin is riding solo on The Last of Us season 3 after the departures of both co-creator Neil Druckmann and producer/writer Halley Gross to focus on future Naughty Dog projects. On The Awardist, Ramsey also added that Druckmann will be "greatly missed."

"It’s been a creative dream to work with Neil and bring an adaptation of his brilliant work to life on HBO. I couldn’t have asked for a more generous creative partner," Mazin said in a statement.

Mazin – who previously gave an update on writing the third season in an interview with GamesRadar+ – has now seemingly cracked the season length. In short, it will be longer than the second season's seven episodes.

"I will say that season 3 will be longer than season 2. Season 3 will be more on par with season 1. More bang for the buck," Mazin told The Hollywood Reporter.

HBO TV chief Casey Bloys has also suggested that The Last of Us could wrap up its story with either two more seasons or "one long season."

Hospital drama The Pitt made a splash on HBO Max with its first season. As it turns out, fans won't have to wait too much longer for the second season, as the streamer has now released a teaser for The Pitt season 2. And as one might expect, it's incredibly tense, bloody, and traumatic.

Viewers of The Pitt season 1 will recognize actor Patrick Ball's embattled Dr. Frank Langdon, who was revealed as struggling with substance abuse allegations, though he seems to now be a paramedic rather than an ER doctor.

While the first season dealt with the gruesome aftermath of a violent mass shooting at a music festival, the second season, which also follows a full 15 hour hospital shift with each episode representing an hour of real time, will take place over a fourth of July weekend, 10 months after the events of the first season.

The Pitt became a breakout hit with both critics and fans thanks to its tense interpersonal drama and its frank treatment of themes of PTSD, adolescent violence, the mistreatment of disabled patients and non-white patients, and other real world issues faced by hardworking ER doctors.

ER alum Noah Wyle headlines The Pitt as Dr. Michael 'Robbie' Robinavitch, the longsuffering leader of the emergency room at the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center hospital.

A TV boss in the UK has hit out at Netflix, accusing the streamer of being a "TV tourist", following the surprise success of Newcastle-set drama series Adolescence.

As reported by Deadline, Channel 4 news boss Louisa Compton described the broadcaster as "proud parents" of the Stephen Graham-led series during the opening debate at the Edinburgh TV Festival. The reasoning? Well, the network has championed co-creators Graham and Jack Thorne over the years, collaborating with them on shows such as This is England '86 and Help.

"We've developed and nurtured the talent that has allowed Netflix to come in as TV tourists and effectively commission [Adolescence]," argued Compton. "Without us that wouldn't have happened. We nurture where the streamers don't."

She then went on to hit out at the platform for concentrating on "retrospective" programming and refusing to tackle timely, potentially controversial topics. "Where are the investigations on the streamers into Gaza or Trump?" she asked. "[Current affairs] is a unique thing PSBs offer."

Also starring The Crown's Erin Doherty, Faye Marsay (Andor), and Ashley Walters (Top Boy), Adolescence opens with 13-year-old Jamie (Owen Cooper) being arrested for the murder of his classmate Katie Leonard. Over the course of four episodes, all of which play out in real time, viewers not only learn whether Jamie did what he's being accused of but what happened in the run-up to the violent attack, as well as how his family are coping with the fallout.

Since it premiered on March 13, it has gone on to become Netflix's second most-watched English-language show of all time, coming runner-up to Wednesday and beating out Stranger Things season 4 – and was nominated for 13 Primetime Emmys.

While that's largely seen as a good thing, particularly by people like Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who previously announced plans to make the series free to watch in schools, in a bid to raise awareness about online safety, toxic masculinity, and bullying, some UK creatives are nervous about producers taking the wrong lessons away from it.

"What happens [if you become solely focused on creating globally-marketable content] is you change the nature of the show you are trying to make with more than half an eye on the international market," claimed Line of Duty EP Simon Heath. "The risk is that the chase for international funding fundamentally alters the kinds of stories we can tell."

Baby Reindeer creator Richard Gadd has a new limited series on the way titled Half Man, through HBO Max and BBC. Gadd himself will be joined by Jamie Bell in the six-episode series as a pair of brothers whose contentious relationship is explored throughout the timeline of their lives. Now, HBO Max has released the first look at the series in an image of Gadd and Bell together as brothers Niall and Ruben, seen above.

The brothers will be played as teens by Michtell Robinson, who doubles for Jamie Bell's Niall, and Stuart Campbell as Richard Gadd's Ruben. The pair's relationship and history of family trauma will inform the story which brings them back together after years of estrangement.

Here's the official logline for the series:

"Half Man follows estranged 'brothers' Niall (Jamie Bell) and Ruben (Richard Gadd). When Niall's estranged 'brother' Ruben shows up at his wedding, it leads to an explosion of violence that catapults us back through their lives. Spanning almost 40 years from the '80s to the present day, Mitchell Robertson and Stuart Campbell portray Niall (Robertson) and Ruben (Campbell) in their younger years, in a series that explores the highs and lows of Ruben and Niall’s relationship, from meeting them as troubled teenagers to witnessing their falling out as adults – with all the good, bad, terrible, funny, angry, and challenging moments along the way. The series will capture the wild energy of a changing city – a changing world, even – and plumb the depths of what it means to be a man."

Themes of abuse and family drama are common in Gadd's work, with his previous series Baby Reindeer dealing with a young comedian who is beset by a stalker, leading him to confront his own traumatic past. The series is partially autobiographical, based on Gadd's time as a stand-up comedian and his subsequent trauma.

The Last of Us showrunner Craig Mazin says he avoids online discourse around the show simply by staying away from the series' subreddit, which is exactly what someone in his position should be doing.

"I don't look at them, so I don't know," Mazin told The Hollywood Reporter. "Problem solved! I don't go on Reddit."

Mazin added that the only time he goes to Reddit is when he needs Oblivion: Remastered advice, which again, is precisely the way.

"I mean, I'm always playing video games; I'm playing The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered right now. Sometimes I'll go on Reddit when I'm like, 'What is the best bow for an archer build?' That's about as much Redditing as I do."

The Last of Us subreddit isn't always the most chipper place to be, but I'd imagine it's exponentially less so when you're the guy in charge of the TV show adaptation, which wrapped up a highly controversial second season in May.

Whether or not the criticisms over its various departures from the source material, or the ones about it following the source material, are valid, all that negativity has to take a toll on your mental health.

Mazin's wellbeing aside, no one should be taking advice from Reddit, especially not someone running a TV show, and especially not someone running a TV show based on video games with a narrative as beloved and meticulously crafted as The Last of Us.

I've seen a disturbing rise in video game developers seemingly structuring updates entirely around feedback from people on Reddit, who in general aren't representative of any game's broader, more casual player base. Of course, I'm not talking about performance updates based on online feedback; those are great. I just don't want Reddit deciding on a game's, or any other thing's, creative vision.

I think most of us would rather play and watch things that are structured around a strong, singular vision and whose key creatives are confident enough to see it through regardless of its reception. I mean, imagine a Last of Us season 2 without the whole baseball bat scene? Sure, it'd probably be a much less depressing show, but it wouldn't be as good either.

The Last of Us showrunner Craig Mazin says season 3 will be "longer than season 2," but will be "more on par" with season 1: "More bang for your buck"

The boss of The Last of Us game series’ studio, Neil Druckmann, has reacted to The Last of Us season 2 receiving 16 Emmy nominations.

The studio and creative head of Naughty Dog took to Twitter, writing, "On behalf of the entire development team at Naughty Dog, thank you to the Academy, and a huge congrats to the entire cast & crew of The Last of Us Season 2 on their Emmy nominations!" adding, "To see the story of The Last of Us Part II celebrated and find new life and new fans has been a thrill for our studio."

This comes just 2 weeks after Druckmann stepped down as co-showrunner of the HBO show, which he headed with co-creator Craig Mazin. Druckmann said that although the decision to leave was "difficult," he wanted to exit "before any meaningful work starts on season 3," so he can focus primarily on the future of Naughty Dog. However, it is nice to see that Druckmann is still celebrating the series' accolades.

The Last of Us season 2 is one of the most-nominated shows this year at the Emmys, with 16 nods in categories such as Best Actor for Joel actor Pedro Pascal, Best Actress for Ellie star Bella Ramsey, and a nomination for Best Drama. The second season also received nominations for Best Production Design, Casting, Picture Editing, Contemporary Makeup, Prosthetic Makeup, Special Visual Effects, and more.

The Last of Us season 1 was nominated for 24 Emmys and bagged eight wins at the 75th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Guest Actress in a drama for Storm Reid and Outstanding Guest Actor in a drama for Nick Offerman.

However, The Last of Us season 2 did not receive any writing or directing nominations. This is interesting, as many fans feel that the script and delivery of the game’s story is what let the sophomore season down. That may be why The Last of Us season 2 saw such a dramatic drop in audience score on Rotten Tomatoes in comparison to the first.

The Last of Us season 2 adapts half of Naughty Dog's game The Last of Us Part 2. However, despite previously being confirmed that an upcoming third season will cover the rest of the story, Mazin has now said that there may be a fourth season on the way.

The Last of Us continues to follow the path laid out by Naughty Dog's The Last of Us Part 2, but co-creator Craig Mazin is apparently still undecided on whether the HBO series will wrap up next season or not.

In an interview with Variety, HBO boss Casey Bloys addressed the future of The Last of Us, which has undergone some creative shake-ups in recent weeks – as well as nailing down a release window for The Last of Us season 3.

"The series is definitely planned for 2027. Craig is still working it out whether it will be two more seasons or one more long season," Bloys said. "It hasn’t been decided yet, and I’m following Craig’s lead on that."

Previously, Mazin told GamesRadar+ in mid-April that he would "take a few weeks" before heading back to writing.

"Then if there's one thing I know about myself, I will be absolutely champing at the bit to get back to the keyboard," Mazin said.

Now, though, Mazin is without a couple of his key collaborators. Both co-creator Neil Druckmann and writer/producer Halley Gross have stepped back from the HBO series to focus on their day jobs at Naughty Dog, particularly with the arrival of Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

"I've made the difficult decision to step away from my creative involvement in The Last of Us on HBO," Druckmann said in a message shared on social media, while also describing his time on the show as an "honor" and a "career highlight."

"With work completed on season 2 and before any meaningful work starts on season 3, now is the right time for me to transition my complete focus to Naughty Dog and its future projects, including writing and directing our exciting next game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, along with my responsibilities as Studio Head and Head of Creative."
