Eight years ago, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 introduced battle royale to the series with its Blackout mode, a formula Warzone vastly expanded over the years. Still, some players continue to crave the more straightforward battle royale experience offered by the original Blackout, and Warzone's Black Ops Royale is poised to deliver exactly that.

Black Ops Royale launches on March 12 at 9pm PT, or March 13 at 12am ET, and as the devs explain in a lengthy blog post, it's "an original Blackout-inspired Battle Royale with no Loadouts, no Gulag, and no Buy Stations."

The Gulag has been replaced by Redeploy Tokens, which essentially serve as extra lives, and Redeploy Towers, which teams can capture to revive their allies. Similarly, instead of loadouts and buy stations, you'll scavenge all of your loot in the classic battle royale way, rushing to map locations to grab the good gear before opposing players do.

You'll be able to grab especially high-value loot from Cradle Breaches, which essentially replace the Zombie Zones of Blackout. During the match, a bomber will drop a hallucinatory gas canister that'll make you see a bunch of presumably fake zombies and certainly very real high-tier loot caches. Each Cradle Breach only lasts for a limited time, so you'll have to contend with both the zombies and other players gunning for that loot as you rush for the best gear.

It seems that Black Ops Royale will launch as an all-quads affair, so smaller squads and solo players are out of luck, but the blog notes that that's just "to begin with." This isn't an LTM, so it seems that the mode is here to stay, and it's very possible that more squad sizes will become available in later updates.

The YouTube comments on the announcement trailer keep calling this "Blackout 2," and the devs are pretty explicit about the mode's inspiration. "There are clear influences from the core Blackout experience – like bullet drop and weapon handling, as well as the armor system and use of the Trauma Kit – capturing the Blackout pacing, traversal, and combat feel in a modern way," they explain in the announcement.

"This isn't a remake; it's a unique experience that pays homage to the Blackout core gameplay while keeping the flow of a match feeling right for Call of Duty: Warzone players," the devs say. Clearly, those players are more than ready for a mode exactly along these lines.

Haven's Hollow may just be the best Warzone map to be introduced to the battle royale since Rebirth Island made its debut in 2020. With its clear lines of sight, evocative color palette, and varied points of interest, I have immediately fallen in love with this new battlefield – set to arrive in the fall, as part of the Black Ops 7: Season One roll out.

Now, is there a chance that a well-earned victory on Haven's Hollow is skewing my perspective here? Absolutely. It's been almost a week and I'm still amped up. My first drop was at Call of Duty: Next, a landscape dominated by developers, content creators, and former pro players. I've barely touched Warzone in recent years, but it doesn't take long for the muscle memory to kick back in; I suppose the hundreds of hours spent fighting in this arena through lockdown wasn't wasted after all.

One of the reasons I've fallen so quickly in love with Haven's Hollow is that it feels like a real showcase of the Resurgence game mode. Matt Krystek, creative director at High Moon Studios, says that the map is "smaller than Fortune's Keep and just a little bit larger than Rebirth Island." That makes it perfectly placed to engineer this steady stream of intimate engagements, applying just enough pressure to keep you moving around and enough downtime to give your squad a chance to catch its breath.

The more I think about it, Resurgence really doesn't get enough credit – it may be the best thing Call of Duty has given back to the FPS genre in a decade. The mode's smart blurring of lines between battle royale fundamentals and traditional COD multiplayer cycles is inspired, ensuring that every drop is fast, frenetic, and respectful of your time. Haven's Hollow sells the concept almost as well as Rebirth Island, a fan-favorite which is itself getting a refresh in early 2026.

If you're looking at images of Haven's Hollow and thinking that it looks a little familiar, that's because elements of it absolutely are. The map takes place in a pre-outbreak version of Liberty Falls – the home of Zombies in Black Ops 6. Krystek explains that fans will pinpoint some returning elements – "we've got a reimagined version of the mansion from Shattered Veil" – but that Haven's Hollow is otherwise "expanding out from where Liberty Falls was initially set."

Krystek says that High Moon Studios "wanted a fast-paced, high-action map" with "good flow and really interesting routes" and I'm happy to report that this is exactly what's been delivered. With nine core points-of-interest, there are exceptional battles to be had from the riverfront through to the elevated foothills. Haven's Hollow has a really smart balance of power positions and cover density, with "a lot of the structures constrained to just three to four stories," Krystek adds. From my time with the map, I found that this blend helps draw squads in and out of cover, generating winding games of cat and mouse in a way that Rebirth and Fortune's Keep never quite delivered.

I took a similar journey from the Riverboat (a floating casino that's destined to forever be a hot drop), up across Main Street with its elevated power positions, through to Pond on the other side of the map for the final circles – a mess of construction and dilapidation making this locale the perfect spot for frantic short-to-midrange engagements. The pond is ankle deep, with the river surrounding the Haven's Gamble paddle steamer the only area with any true vertical depth. Krystek says that High Moon presented "minimal water gameplay" on Haven's Hollow to instead "focus on player visibility."

That last point is really key, because Haven's Hollow is without question the best looking map in Warzone history. It's this vibrant, autumnally-themed playspace that feels exceptionally distinct. "It is bright, in terms of its lighting," says Krystek, "but we wanted it to be really colorful, to both focus and promote easy enemy acquisition." This is an aspect to Haven's Hollow that will be really born out on live servers, but my early playtest really did highlight the importance of checking your corners and moving with purpose when you do decide to step out of cover.

Krystek says that this focus on "player visibility" led High Moon to go so far as to "hand place every tree that's on here to try and curate these long lines of sight." If that anecdote tells you anything, it's that the studio is going out of its way to create a map with well defined power positions and clear balance. "Promoting all the different playstyles is important," he says. "Which is why we focused so much on cover placement, foliage density, and the flow through all of the spaces."

If nothing else, Haven's Hollow will continue Warzone's hit rate for repurposing Zombies maps (Rebirth was, arguably, a redux of Black Ops 2's Mob of the Dead). But I have a feeling that Haven's Hollow will become far more than that. It's an adrenaline shot to Warzone map rotation, a playspace that promotes the power of Resurgence and a dazzling reminder that Call of Duty still has some of the best weapon and movement feel in the FPS landscape. All I can hope now is that the wins keep flowing when Haven's Hollow lands later this year.

Haven's Hollow isn't the only new item coming to Warzone in the Black Ops 7 era. There's a new mode inspired by Blackout, Call of Duty's original battle royale, and some key changes to Warzone's approach to attachments and movement mechanics.

One of the biggest surprises to emerge out of Call of Duty: Next is news that a "bold new experience" is coming to Warzone next year, one directly inspired by Blackout.

For those of you who need a refresher: Blackout was the precursor to Call of Duty: Warzone, arriving as part of the Black Ops 4 package in 2018. The mode launched shortly after PUBG and Fortnite kickstarted the battle royale craze in 2017, differentiating itself with some neat ideas – Treyarch populated areas of the map with zombies and unlocked advanced traversal systems, such as a grappling hook, for players to utilize in their pursuit of becoming the last operator standing.

Little is known about how Blackout will ultimately be incorporated into the current battle royale offering. "Call of Duty: Warzone is bringing a bold new experience in Spring of 2026 inspired by the original Blackout, set on Avalon," reads the only official communication.

I sat down with Miles Leslie in the aftermath of COD: Next to try and squeeze some additional information out of him. Leslie is a 20-year veteran of Treyarch, having contributed to every one of its Black Ops games – and played a principal role in bringing Blackout to life. "I'm really excited about that mode coming out, but obviously we can't talk about it yet," he says, laughing.

Leslie, who is the associate creative director of Black Ops 7, was quick to note how closely Treyarch is collaborating with the teams at Raven, High Moon, and Beenox (who largely oversee production of Warzone content). "We work really closely with the Warzone teams. They're fully integrated. We're working really closely with that team."

"So it's really not like we're seeing it from afar," he continues. "It's more of us working hand-in-hand, crafting something that feels like Black Ops is coming to Warzone. I think that's the really exciting thing for us; we like to say 'Black Ops takeover inspiration into Warzone', and I think players that are playing Black Ops 7 and Warzone will see this really tight integration of content and mechanics that just spreads the fun. And that mode is going to be fun."

At this point in our conversation, we have to shift gears to talking more directly about the Black Ops 7 multiplayer experience and the incoming beta (more on that on GamesRadar+ this week, as our Black Ops 7 Big Preview continues). But I do want to offer a point of clarification: When Leslie refers to a "really tight integration of content and mechanics" between BO7 and Warzone, he may be speaking more broadly than just Blackout.

Some key incoming changes to Warzone as part of the Black Ops 7 alignment include a limit of five attachments to weapons, as well as the removal of Wildcards. Tactical Sprint has also been disabled as standard (reflecting a change in Black Ops 7 multiplayer), now requiring the 'Sprinter' Perk to activate. There's also a wider focus on ground loot, with Warzone pushing to make the quality of pickups more consistent and viable. That last change is particularly interesting, given that a big difference between Blackout and Warzone is a much greater focus on ground loot, with Blackout avoiding loadout systems and the like.

While we await more news on the Blackout-inspired mode coming to Warzone next spring, I'd also like to share a comment from Lawrence Metten, associate director of design at Treyarch. Metten wasn't with the studio when Blackout launched, although he's clearly excited to be a part of it now after years spent playing the battle royale in his spare time. It makes me wonder how this mixture of direct experience and fresh perspectives across the Call of Duty studios group will ultimately bring about the return of this mode for a new generation of play.

"I didn't work on Blackout, but I was a fan – I played a lot of it. Ever since I joined the team… you can tell that there's a lot of love within Treyarch for Blackout and what was in Blackout," says Metten. "We're excited to show more when the time is right with that new mode."

Call of Duty is finally separating its weapon attachment changes in Warzone from its other games, like the upcoming Black Ops 7, in a move the devs are hopeful will allow for tweaks tailored "specifically for the unique play styles" in the free-to-play shooter.

This news was revealed during a Call of Duty NEXT pre-brief event attended by GamesRadar+. Raven Software senior gameplay engineer Francesco Galletti explains that players can expect plenty of changes to the way weapons are handled, with them notably "being streamlined with the return of five attachments."

He continues: "This past year, we've seen too many players run the same wildcards and walk the same golden path when it comes to weapon builds. For that reason, we think there are ways to make that more interesting, and we're going to do so by first making Overkill by default for everyone, removing wildcards, and fundamentally changing the way we're going about attachment tuning."

This new attachment tuning approach brings about a first for the game. "For the first time in Warzone's history, we're able to tune all the attachments independently of other titles," Galletti says. "What that means is that an attachment in Multiplayer may have completely different stats in Warzone."

Needless to say, Galletti continues, "The team is super excited about this. This is going to allow us to give you guys faster attachment tuning, faster meta shifts, and tune things specifically for the unique play styles in Warzone."

Elsewhere, a new Resurgence mode map has also been revealed. Called Haven's Hollow, the map features a rural setting – a small town by a river, complete with a paddle steamer housing a casino. Outside of the town, you can also find a modern research center, as well as other landmarks including a graveyard, train station, and a huge mansion.

How Treyarch is redefining what Call of Duty can be with Black Ops 7: "Where we're taking this game is so drastically different from a lot of the things we've done before."

A new Call of Duty CODE: Got Your Six event is live to celebrate Military Appreciation Month, and this has a free animated weapon blueprint and other rewards for players to claim. These rewards are only available for a limited-time, so jump in as soon as you can if you don't want to miss out.

Unlike other recent promotions such as the Call of Duty Blaze of Glory event, there are no new weapons, perks, or attachments to unlock in the CODE: Got Your Six event. It's all cosmetic, but the challenges are easy enough to complete. Plus, you can earn CODE: Got Your Six rewards in any game mode of your choosing, so you'll likely end up with at least a few of the cosmetics unlocked after a couple of hours of play. How to get the All Chipped Out animated blueprint

Finishing all seven challenges and obtaining every reward in the CODE: Got Your Six event unlocks the All Chipped Out weapon blueprint for the AMES 85 assault rifle. It's not a meta-defining weapon by any means, but the camo pattern on this blueprint is animated so it stands out from other skins.

Paired with the new camo swapping feature for attachments introduced in a recent Black Ops 6 update, this animated weapon blueprint is a nice addition to any player's arsenal.

Easiest Call of Duty CODE: Got Your Six challenges to complete

While you can complete challenges in any Call of Duty game mode to unlock CODE: Got Your Six rewards, not every challenge is created equal. Some of them are much harder than the others, so your time may be better spent in a different game mode instead of banging your head against the wall looking for competent teammates in Warzone or MP.

If you just want to get things over with as quickly as possible, these are the easiest challenges to complete for every CODE: Got Your Six event reward:

Most of the multiplayer challenges are surprisingly easy to complete. This event is centered around assisting your allies (hence the "Got Your Six" name), so you don't have to drop insane killstreaks or anything like that.

Multiplayer Challenges

For all the multiplayer challenges, just load into Small Map Moshpit or 10v10 Moshpit. These have ample opportunities to earn Score and spam low-level Scorestreaks like UAVs, which knocks out most of the challenges on the list.

Zombies Challenges

For Zombies, you can just rush straight to the part of the map you need and ignore everything else to blow through these challenges. Liberty Falls is arguably the best map for these challenges since it's fairly easy and has easily accessible perks and equipment. You can also just start over repeatedly so you can grind exclusively in low rounds with weaker Zombies.

With the Healing Aura challenge, for example, you can just start new matches over and over so you don't have to wait for the ability to recharge. The same goes for opening doors. You can just leave the match after a few rounds and restart so there are more cheap doors to open.

Warzone Challenges

As for Warzone, most of the challenges will take a while if you do them with randoms. Even with a coordinated squad, Warzone challenges just take too long compared to the others. The exception is the Covered Sixes Calling Card objective of completing five matches. You don't have to win these matches, so just eliminate yourself and throw the match in the Gulag a few times to get this challenge out of the way.

The Call of Duty Blaze of Glory event has now reached its final few days, but there's still time to earn the 4/20-themed free rewards and new equipment included as part of this promo in Season Three Reloaded of Black Ops 6 and Warzone. It serves as a companion for the Call of Duty High Art event with is running concurrently, and although most of the sought-after rewards are included in that, such as the two new Seth Rogen skins, there's lots of other activities taking place in the Blaze of Glory event to make it worth investigating further in the pursuit of fresh cosmetic items.

There isn't an event pass for Blaze of Glory. Instead, you'll have to jump into the new Joint Operations playlist and collect Blaze Bucks from defeated enemies to unlock the event rewards. A new perk and more are up for grabs here, including a fresh Field Upgrade for Zombies players as well, so here's everything you need to know about the Blaze of Glory event in Black Ops 6 and Warzone.

Blaze Bucks, a limited-time event currency, are the main way to unlock rewards during the Blaze of Glory event. These are obtained from eliminated enemies in multiplayer matches and can also be found in supply crates in Warzone matches, giving you a couple of routes to stock up with this cash.

Each event reward has an associated Blaze Bucks cost, so you'll have to save up your cash to buy the stuff you want. Here's a full rundown of the rewards and costs, along with the screens each reward redemption is connected to:

Best Ways to Farm Blaze Bucks for Call of Duty Blaze of Glory

You'll earn Blaze Bucks just by playing the game naturally since they come from kills and supply crates, but there are optimal strategies for Blaze Buck farming in both Black Ops 6 multiplayer and Warzone battle royale.

Best Multiplayer Blaze Bucks Farming Method

The Blaze of Glory event adds a bunch of new limited-time playlists to Black Ops 6 multiplayer, and these are the best modes to get Blaze Bucks. Every kill will net you some Blaze Bucks as long as you manage to collect them from eliminated enemies before getting slain yourself, so small maps and fast-paced modes are king here.

Joint Operations is your best bet for farming Blaze Bucks since it includes a slew of modes like Hardpoint and Kill Order plus wacky modifiers that provide score bonuses, mess with gravity, change movement speed, and more.

There's also the new Blazetown 24/7 playlist, a 4/20-themed spin on the fan-favorite Nuketown. It's just Nuketown with a new color palette, so you should already know what to expect. This map has always been great for farming, and that still applies for Blaze Bucks since you'll be able to get many kills per match.

Best Zombies Blaze Bucks Farming Method

Zombies may not be heavily advertised in the Blaze of Glory event, but you can still grind this round-based survival mode to earn event rewards. Just like in multiplayer matches, defeated Zombies will occasionally drop Blaze Bucks that can be exchanged for event items.

It's not as efficient as multiplayer, but Zombies is still a solid alternative for players who just want to chill out in a PVE mode instead of putting up with sweaty online lobbies. Since Blaze of Glory isn't an XP-based event, don't worry about extracting early to maximize XP gains. Just blast through as many Zombies as you can.

Best Warzone Blaze Bucks Farming Method

Things slow down in Warzone quite a bit since engagements don't happen nearly as often as they do in multiplayer, but Blaze Bucks can also be obtained from supply crates in battle royale matches.

Because of this, it's actually more efficient to just run around POIs opening as many crates as you can. You can do this in respawn modes like Resurgence, and there are two limited-time Resurgence playlists currently available during the event period as well. You should probably avoid busier locations like the Stadium or Superstore. The quieter outskirts of Verdansk still have plenty of supply caches to find.

The train is also back in Verdansk with the Season Three Reloaded update, and that's also a great place to rack up some kills and find some supply caches. It's a risky bet, but there's not much at stake if you're playing respawn modes Resurgence or Plunder. Since you get Blaze Bucks much faster than regular XP in Warzone, farming the Blaze of Glory event in Warzone is much easier than grinding the High Art event pass.

The Call of Duty High Art event kicks off the Season Three Reloaded update, which is now live in Black Ops 6 and Warzone, and this mid-season patch brings a new event pass and the addition of Seth Rogen to the game's roster, among other rewards. Like most Call of Duty events, the High Art event is only available for a limited-time.

This one is similar to the Squid Game collab back in January, featuring a special event pass with free and premium rewards for players to earn. The new Ladra SMG is one of the free rewards, but coughing up some extra COD Points will net you two Seth Rogen skins, a weapon blueprint, and more 4/20-themed goods. The High Art event lasts for two weeks in Call of Duty Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty Warzone, beginning alongside the Season Three Reloaded update on Thursday, May 1 and coming to a close on Thursday, May 15.

Another 4/20-themed Call of Duty Blaze of Glory event will also be available during this period, but only for the second week. Blaze of Glory has its own set of rewards to earn, plus some multiplayer map remixes and new modes on top of that, which we have a separate guide for.

How to Get Seth Rogen from Call of Duty High Art

Seth Rogen joins Call of Duty in the High Art event, and he's only available to those who purchase the premium track of the High Art event pass. Priced at 1100 COD Points, the premium event pass track includes two Seth Rogen skins, one unlocked instantly and the other unlocked as the final reward.

Seth Rogen's instant unlock is called "Fired Up" and fits the 4/20 theme of the event, while the final reward is called "Host Rogen" and features the actor wearing a colorful suit.

These rewards are available to all players, even those who don't own Black Ops 6 and only play Warzone. Just like the Squid Game event, all you have to do is earn XP to progress through the event tracks and earn new rewards. It's basically a mini Battle Pass.

Best Ways to Farm XP for Call of Duty High Art

As always, Double XP Tokens are the way to go if you want to blaze through the High Art event pass. XP in any game mode, whether that be multiplayer, Zombies, or Warzone, will count for the High Art event.

Also, you don't have to buy the premium track right from the get go. When you buy the premium track, rewards will be retroactively unlocked depending on how much XP you've earned. If you have enough XP to get the Host Rogen skin, you can just buy the premium event track to claim all the extra goodies.

Best Black Ops 6 XP Grind

To get the most XP in Black Ops 6 multiplayer, just pop a Double XP Token and grind as many objective-based modes as you can. The newly-added Demolition playlist is great for earning XP since basically every kill will have some bonus XP tacked onto it, and Domination is a classic mode for XP grinding for a reason.

The absolute best way to farm High Art XP is the Blaze of Glory event, though. Blaze of Glory starts on May 6 and adds a new limited-time mode called Joint Operations to Black Ops 6. This playlist includes multiple modes like Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, and Domination, but it also includes modifiers that randomly pop up throughout matches.

You can experience third-person camera switches, low gravity, and more during Blaze of Glory matches, but the best modifier adds a +420 points score bonus to everything you do, granting huge chunks of XP for very little effort. The Blaze of Glory event is only available for the second week of High Art, though, so it's still a good idea to farm some XP in standard multiplayer before it goes live.

Best Zombies XP Grind

The usual Zombies XP grinding method still applies here, so enabling the Rampage modifier at the start of a match and then attempting to Exfil at round 11 or 16 is the best way to earn High Art Rewards.

There's a new limited-time mode called Zombie Snacks releasing alongside Season Three Reloaded, however, and that's an even better way to get XP. It replaces your health bar with a constantly depleting energy meter that can only be replenished by picking up snacks dropped by slain Zombies.

Not only will you get some extra points and XP during this mode, but completing the main quest on any Zombies map in this mode will net you 15,000 XP on top of everything else. Grab a squad and run through some of the easier maps like Liberty Falls to earn High Art rewards as fast as possible.

Best Warzone XP Grind

Warzone is a bit harder to get XP in because you won't see players as often as you would in multiplayer, but there are still options for XP grinders who want to earn High Art rewards this way.

Respawn modes are the way to go here, and thankfully, there are some new limited-time modes to help you grind XP. Massive Resurgence ups the player count to 120 for Verdansk Resurgence, and High Trip Resurgence gives every player predetermined loadouts and adds special perks to the loot pool.

Either of these modes works well for XP farming, so take your pick and drop in to earn those High Art skins and rewards. This is also a good chance to check out the returning train added back to Verdansk in the Season Three Reloaded update.

The Black Ops Tribute event is now in full flow, with plenty of free rewards available to claim while celebrating the fifteenth anniversary of the Call of Duty: Black Ops games. By racking up experience points playing Black Ops 6 and Warzone you can add a fresh Scorestreak to your locker, the Nail Gun to your loadout, and even an all-new operator skin to equip, among many more cosmetic items that are exclusive to this celebration.

As with most Call of Duty events, the Black Ops Tribute is only running for a limited time following its launch on April 17, so you have just two weeks to secure the goods and once the event concludes most of the rewards will no longer be obtainable. The only exceptions are the weapons, which will become unlockable via armory challenges in the future to ensure that nobody misses out on the coolest new gear. While you can earn XP in any Call of Duty mode, you have to own Call of Duty Black Ops 6 in order to claim all the rewards. If you're a free-to-play Call of Duty Warzone main, then you can only claim around half of the event rewards.

Anything marked with an asterisk (*) on the list above is exclusive to Black Ops 6 owners. In case you forget which rewards are exclusive, the in-game reward page has a "BO6 Reward" tag to denote which items require you to own the full game.

How to Get John Black Ops

The new John Black Ops operator is a mastery reward for the Black Ops Tribute event, so you can only unlock him once you claim every other reward the event has to offer. John Black Ops is exclusive to Black Ops 6 owners as well, so free-to-play Warzone players won't be able to add John Black Ops to their roster unless they purchase the full game.

Since John Black Ops is at the end of the reward track, you'll need to earn a whopping 617,000 XP across multiplayer, Warzone, and Zombies in order to claim every reward and unlock this new operator. Once unlocked, you can deploy John Black Ops in any game mode, including Warzone.

Black Ops Tribute Event Schedule

The Black Ops Tribute limited-time event will last for two weeks in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone. The event kicked off on Thursday, April 17, and runs through Thursday, May 1.

Since this is an XP-centric event, it's highly recommended to jump in early and start grinding as soon as possible. You have to earn over half a million XP to claim John Black Ops, the Nail Gun, and all the other rewards, and that's going to take at least a few hours of gameplay. There are no bonus event challenges to complete, so it's strictly based on game time and completed matches.

Best Ways to Grind XP for Black Ops Tribute

Since the Black Ops Tribute event only requires you to grind a bunch of XP, the same strategies that Black Ops 6 players have been using to power level and race through prestige ranks work well here. Thankfully, there are great grinding methods across all three core game modes.

Best Black Ops 6 XP Grind

If you want to play Black Ops 6 multiplayer to progress through the Black Ops Tribute event, then we recommend playing objective-based game modes like Domination in order to maximize your XP gains. These playlists have more ways to earn points and XP than kill-focused modes like Team Deathmatch.

You should also avoid the small Strike maps like Stakeout and Nomad. Many players report that playlists focusing on these maps have reduced XP gains to prevent players from blazing through the leveling process. That means playlists like Nuketown 24/7 may not be the best choice for XP grinding despite their fast pace and high kill counts.

Ultimately, you should just pop as many Double XP Tokens as you can and grind objective-based multiplayer modes to maximize your XP gains during the event period. It's a long grind and there's no way around it.

Best Zombies XP Grind

If you get tired of PVP, then Black Ops 6 Zombies is also a great way to earn XP for the Black Ops Tribute event. There are even some Gobblegums on the reward track, which is nice for Zombies players.

Zombies XP is throttled pretty heavily at higher rounds, however, so quick matches are key to grinding XP. Extractions also offer huge chunks of XP as well, so the goal is to play until round 16 or 21 and then leave the map alive. It's a good idea to craft a Chopper Gunner before attempting to extract, too, just so you can be sure that you can clear the landing zone before the timer expires.

While you're playing, try to complete as many SAM Trials as possible. These give a solid chunk of XP upon completion and can significantly speed up the grind. Enabling the Rampage modifier at the start of the game can help, too, provided you can keep up with the increased aggression.

Best Warzone XP Grind

Warzone is the slowest of the three modes for XP grinding, but it's still a solid option for battle royale fanatics. The key to Warzone XP grinding is to avoid the usual battle royale modes and instead opt for respawn modes like Plunder or Resurgence.

Plunder is the safest bet, but if you have a solid squad, you can squeeze more XP out of Resurgence as long as you can secure enough kills and get an occasional victory. The XP grind will be slow regardless of which Warzone mode you pick, however, so we recommend playing Black Ops 6 multiplayer or Zombies to complete the event.

Verdansk safes have been hidden around this classic map to celebrate its return, and they are featured as part of a limited-time event with exclusive rewards. By tracking down these safes in Verdansk you'll receive free cosmetics such as weapon charms, sprays, and emotes, but there are two extra special rewards in particular that everyone wants to get their hands on in Call of Duty Warzone.

If you manage to open safes in all 12 sectors of Verdansk and obtain every free reward the event has to offer, you'll unlock the fan-favorite Kali Sticks melee weapon. That's not all, though, since each safe also has a small chance to reward you with a rare event exclusive operator skin. This skin is the real draw of the Return to Verdansk event, but you may have to open a ton of safes in order to get it since the drop rate is fairly low. To help with that, we have a Verdansk safe locations map as well as some suggested farming routes to open as many of them as possible.

Not counting the free operator skins and Kilo 141 assault rifle unlocked just by logging into Warzone during the event period, there are 12 rewards to unlock by searching safes throughout each sector of Verdansk:

There are multiple potential safe spawn locations within each sector of Verdansk, but you only need to open one safe per region in order to claim the associated reward. The game will alert you when you enter a region with an unopened safe, and they're fairly easy to find as long as you hit the main buildings in every POI and loot as you would normally.

It's important to note that some sectors include multiple major POIs, so you may need to widen your search area to find every safe. The Storage Town sector includes the Airport, for example, and the Stadium sector also includes the TV Station.

All Warzone Verdansk Safes Locations

Each sector of Verdansk has several possible safe spawn locations. We've included a map of all the Verdansk safe locations we've discovered so far below:

While the Verdansk safe spawns are random, there are a few rules of thumb to remember when hunting for them. They have an audio cue like normal supply crates, but it's slightly different so you'll be able to tell when you're near one. Safes are always located outdoors as well, and they're usually nestled against a wall or tucked into a corner. You won't see a safe sitting in the middle of a field, for example.

Safes can only be opened once per match, so you'll need to be fast if you want to hit some of the more popular POIs like Stadium or Dam. If you see the "Event Reward Available" notification at the top of your screen when entering a new sector, however, that means there are still safes to claim in that area. If you don't see it, then that means another squad already beat you to the punch.

Best Warzone Verdansk safes farming routes to get the event skin

Thankfully, you don't have to find these safes in standard battle royale matches. We recommend jumping in to the new Battle Royale Casual playlist, which is mostly filled with bots and only a few real squads. Plunder is also an option as well, and since the helicopter is back in Warzone now, it's super easy to get around the map with a squad.

If you need to open as many safes as possible to maximize your chances of getting the event-exclusive Caine operator skin to drop, then we recommend starting the match at either the Dam or Port. These locations have a ton of safes on their own, but they also typically have those aforementioned helicopters that you can take to get across the map faster.

Port Safes Farming Route

The Port is a great starting spot for a farming route since it has a cluster of potential Verdansk safe spawn locations clumped in the heart of the POI. After searching for those, head south to the coast to find a helicopter.

Use that helicopter to fly to the nearby Prison to check for more safes, and then head straight north to check out the Lumberyard and Quarry. These are quieter parts of the map that players tend to overlook, so you may be able to snag a safe or two without encountering any enemies.

Dam Safes Farming Route

If you'd rather start on the other side of the map at the Dam, then check the dam itself for a potential Verdansk safe spawn and then drop down to the base of the dam to look for a second safe near the buy station. There's a helicopter there, too, so use that to fly east to the Military Base region for a bunch of potential safe spawns.

Once you've cleared out the Military Base, head further east to clear the Quarry. Finish this route by heading to the quiet Lumberyard and Farmland sectors to check for any scraps that people may have missed.

Since these two routes converge in the same general area after starting in opposite corners of the map, you can split your squad into small groups to cover more ground simultaneously. If one person gets lucky and gets the Caine skin to drop from a safe, then the entire squad will receive it as well.

The drop rate is very, very low, though, so don't lose hope if you don't unlock the skin within your first few matches. The Return to Verdansk event is live through April 15, so there's still plenty of time to unlock the Caine operator skin and claim the other free rewards. The Caine skin is gone for good after the event comes to a close, however, so make sure you search for those safes while you still can.

Verdansk is coming back to Call of Duty Warzone, but fans want more than just the map; they want all the old mechanics to return, too.

The original Warzone map, Verdansk, will be live again on April 3, just after the game's fifth anniversary. This news was announced last year, but now we have a new cinematic trailer where we see soldiers dropping into the forested outskirts of the iconic city to the tune of Nat King Cole's Unforgettable. It's a lovely trailer and evokes all those memories of squading up with our friends during the pandemic.

The map was changed just over a year after the game came out, during the Destruction of Verdansk event that ended with the map being nuked. We could then go back to the '80s for Verdansk '84, but it's not quite the same.

Many fans are incredibly happy Verdansk is coming back. I recently wrote about how Battlefield 6's trailer proves we long for a return to simpler days for shooters, and this reaction just shows how correct I really was. People don't just want the visuals of Verdansk, though; they want the original Warzone back.

"Honestly just open the Warzone 1 server, the map is not the only thing we loved. We loved the mechanics, the simplicity," writes one commenter. "We don't just want Verdansk back. We want everything back. The movement, the mechanics, the graphics, the sounds, the vehicles. We want OG Warzone. The game that made us stay up all night," agrees another.

Fortnite brought its OG mode back as a permanent staple, so there's a chance Warzone could do the same, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

It appears that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has just fully lifted the veil on the rumored Warzone 2025 map, though perhaps accidentally. Players have found that you can fully explore the new map simply by entering spectator mode, and they're already charting everything there.

As this clip from Lightsfire on Twitter explains, all you need to do is start up a private match on the Lowtown map and assign yourself as the CoDCaster. From there, you can fly around outside the bounds of the map and fully explore what's out there - which, for whatever reason, is a massive, low-quality version of the Avalon map that appeared in Black Ops 6 leaks earlier this year.

Avalon is rumored to be the Warzone map for 2025, and it certainly looks the part, filled with POIs built from fragments of previous Call of Duty maps. In fact, Reddit user Dull-Caterpillar3153 has already mapped it all out, combining an overhead look at Avalon with labels breaking down each of the maps making a comeback.

The one that seems to be making the biggest impression among players is Courtyard, which makes its return from Call of Duty: World at War, the 2008 WW2 game that served as the starting point for the entire Black Ops subseries. Notably, while Courtyard is one of the locations on the version of Avalon that we see outside Lowtown, it also appears outside Skyline, leading to some hope it might be added as a traditional multiplayer map, too.

Of course, what we're seeing here all comes down to unfinished remnants of things that might get changed before they hit Call of Duty proper, so don't expect this to be a perfect look at what to expect - but it's likely the best look we're going to get for some time.

Without the Black Ops 6 Separation Anxiety code, you won’t be able to obtain the three mirror fragments and complete this Call of Duty campaign mission. As this mission drops you in a desolate, snowy area with little to go on besides some vague hints, this guide will point you to the Separation Anxiety puzzle solution. Unlike the Black Ops 6 safe code puzzles you may have encountered before, it’ll take a visit to three secret areas, where you must obtain a total of three clues - together, they’ll form the password.

No need to wait around in the cold any longer; here’s how to get the code and solve the Black Ops 6 Separation Anxiety puzzle.

The BO6 Separation Anxiety code explained

The Black Ops 6 separation anxiety code is 918, or was for me. If that doesn't work then you'll have to follow the steps as laid out in the Scavenger Hunt you discover when you start the mission.  

This will have you following three clue trails to find one number from each. You'll then have input the numbers in the order given by the opening clue. For me that was Desk, Scouts and Tea Party. If that doesn't make any sense then I will explain in more detail below but the shorty version if that each clue will give you a number that then has to be entered into chest in the order listed. 

BO6 Separation Anxiety Desk clue

Ther Separation Anxiety Desk clue is an easy one. The clue just reads: 

Working hard and wanting more. Always seek the highest score' 

Looking at the three test on the desk will reveal a high number, which for me was 9. 

BO6 Separation Anxiety Scouts clue

The Separation Anxiety Scouts clue will lead you to a trophy cabinet and this clue: 

Count them all and let's begin. Trophies minus badges will get you the win. 

For me there were 6 trophies and 5 badges (on the sash hanging from the door). Giving me a total of 1 (6-1)

BO6 Separation Anxiety Tea Party clue

The Tea Party clue will lead you to a small dolls tea party and this clue:  

They came for tea and friendly chat. Count the guests and double that. 

I had 4 guests/toys present so that was a total of 8. 

As I mentioned, the numbers or orders listed here might be different for your playthrough. So if that's the case use the information here to work out your code.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 had its big multiplayer reveal today, and among all the other details one thing stood out - we're getting a whole lot of Nuketown without actually getting any Nuketown.

Nuketown is a map that goes back to the original Black Ops, and has regularly appeared throughout the series. It's based on the real-world model towns that were used as nuclear test sites, and its miniscule size means that it's one of the most action-packed maps in all of Call of Duty. It's a fan-favorite, and everybody's been wondering if we'd get it back in Black Ops 6.

Today's Call of Duty: Next event revealed that we're getting Area 99 as a new Resurgence map in Warzone, which Treyarch describes as "the birthplace of Nuketown." In a blog post, the devs show it all off in great detail, and the map will include the factory where Nuketown's mannequins are manufactured, the shipping yard where the model homes are sent out, and the test site where all those nukes were fired. 

In traditional Black Ops 6 multiplayer, we're getting Nuketown in the form of Sandhouse, a Strike Map that'll be available at launch. The difference here is that Nuketown's been nuked. Sandhouse is made up of the ruins of Nuketown, with sand piled all over and familiar locations knocked askew by what sure looks to have been a nuclear blast. It's unclear exactly how many similarities Sandhouse has with old-school Nuketown in terms of map layout, but you can get an idea of what to expect with the few seconds of footage in the video below. 

Traditional Nuketown won't be part of Black Ops 6 at launch, but there's no telling if a more familiar version of the map might be added sometime later on. Certainly, with Area 99 and Sandhouse serving as such effective nostalgia bait, we're well primed for a proper Nuketown comeback.

Activision tackles out-of-control Call of Duty download sizes, but of course the path to "smaller downloads" starts with "a big one," and four freakin' downloads on PS5.

Activision has shared an open-source data set compiled from Call of Duty: Warzone's Caldera map for non-commercial use.

The "near-complete" geometry of the Caldera map is now available on GitHub. The 4 GB data set includes more than five million meshes, 28 million primitives, more than one-billion-point instances, "which can also represent scene metadata such as volumes that we use for lighting processing," as well as in-game character pathing and time samples showing how players behave on the map.

Caldera isn't available in Warzone anymore, but it remains one of the biggest and most complex in the entire Call of Duty franchise's history, and it's also the first major asset in the series' history to be open-sourced. Activision's aim is multi-pronged; the publisher hopes the data set will be a valuable resource in academia and training, support AI development, and speed up the evolution of authoring tools.

"This initiative represents Activision’s commitment to innovation and growth in multiple fields, including AI learning, within the communities of academia and research, while propelling the advancement of game development," the company said. "It brings to life the colossal and carefully crafted map that was home to many epic brawls in Call of Duty: Warzone and is production-proven and battle-tested."

Caldera's release to the open-source community will have a ripple effect that goes beyond Call of Duty and even the video game industry. In a press release, the chief technology officer of Disney's Pixar said the data set "marks a significant milestone for the industry," adding, "this initiative not only paves the way for groundbreaking research in environmental geometry and scene construction but also exemplifies the collaborative spirit essential for innovation in our field.

"By making such data available, Activision is empowering developers and researchers alike to explore new frontiers in 3D rendering and simulation, ultimately enriching the creative process across the board."

In a blog post, Activision said the data set can be used by students, educators, and professionals for training, demonstrations, and experimentation. It also said the release will support AI development by providing a playground to facilitate the training of AI models and help evolve authoring tools by testing them against complex geometries and environments.

For its own part, Activision fellow software engineer Michael Vance said "innovations that come from this data set release could give more freedom and flexibility for our content teams to find the most engaging scenarios for our players," and they could even pave the way for game files that take up less hard drive space. "We are excited about what the academic community will produce based on Caldera and look forward to seeing new techniques that we could never have imagined."

With any luck, the best Call of Duty games are still to come.

Warzone 2 error codes crop up now and again when you try to access the Modern Warfare 3 battle royale, and while they may highlight issues such as server outages that you'd can't do anything about, there are others that indicate problems that you may be able resolve yourself by trying your own fixes. The most recent error code is Dev Error 5433, which has been causing problems on the PlayStation platform, so I've got that covered below along with a selection of other errors for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone 2.

Being able to identify any error messages you see means you'll know if you can take action yourself, or if you just have to wait it out. I've put together this list of the most common issues players have run into, so you can see if there's a solution available in my extensive compendium of Warzone 2 error codes.

Generally, most of these are telling you something, even if that's not clear. It might relate to Warzone 2 server issues, files, downloads or something else. Whatever it is, there's usually something you can do to make the problem go away. Even if the error code isn't telling you anything in Modern Warfare 3. 

Below, I've got a more detailed breakdown of all the Warzone 2 error codes in Modern Warfare 3 I've encountered so far, along with any known fixes attached to them to get you up and running again.

Warzone 2 Dev Error 5433, Modern Warfare 3

If the Dev Error 5433 message is appearing in Warzone 2 or Modern Warfare 3, then it's likely that you're on PlayStation and have had an issue with a recent update. Per this post from @CODUpdates, an update has been pushed out to address the issue, so if the error is still persisting for you then make sure your game is on the latest version by checking for updates. The temporary fix means that on PlayStation the video previews in the Store have been disabled, but these should return when further fixes have been made.

Warzone 2 Dev Error 11152, Modern Warfare 3

If you're seeing a Dev Error 11152 message, then this means there's a problem with your game files, though it shouldn't be a cause for immediate panic. It's mainly seen when trying to play while an update is downloading or installing, especially on PlayStation, so check that you're on the latest version of the game and wait for any updates to completely install before trying again. If you're still getting Dev Error 11152 then unfortunately your files may be corrupted, and while PC players can fairly easily repair this through Steam's "Verify integrity of game files" option or Battle.net's "Scan and repair" function, console players who can't get past the error will need to delete and reinstall the game to replace the broken files.

Warzone 2 error code PUGET - ALTUS, Modern Warfare 3

If you see a code reading "Unable to access online services. (Reason: PUGET - ALTUS)", there's no fix, because it's not your fault. Sorry to say that it's an issue at the other end, with Activision's servers. If you're afflicted by this issue, there's likely to be lots of other people with the same issue - possibly all players - so what I suggest is simply to check official channels and Twitter feeds to see what the developers have to say, and if they can provide any information about when issues will be rectified.

If you're not sure that it's based in server-side issues, you can try to reset your router and make sure you don't have too much consuming bandwidth - but if those don't work, there's little else you'll be able to do.

Warzone 2 error code 0x887a0005, Modern Warfare 3

This is a Windows and PC issue that seems to have a number of causes. Things like in-game overlays used by Discord or capture software Nvidia can be the root of the problem so check if you have any running and try the game without them first off all. NVIDIA Ansel can also cause problems. You can also repairing or verifying files to ensure everything is running okay, as well as running the game as an administrator to check there's no permission issues. If you're using any upscaling, try turning that off too, to see if it fixes the issue. If you suspect the issue might be graphical in nature you can also diables on-demand texture streaming and check your graphics drivers. 

Warzone 2 error code DIVER, Modern Warfare 3

MW3 error code DIVER is very similar to the Dev Error outlined above, as you'll see it if the game hasn't been able to download all of the required files, and it may be accompanied by a "Download Failed" message. If you see this, and the retry download option doesn't sort things out then check to see if the Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 3 servers are down, as this could be preventing the files needed from downloading. If there are no server issues and your internet connection is working correctly, then follow the steps above to check for updates and verify your game files, which should fix the problem.

Warzone 2 error "Purchase Modern Warfare 2 to have access to everything"

Some players have experienced a Warzone 2 error when trying to log into the free-to-play version of the battle royale, saying they need to "Purchase Modern Warfare 2 to have access to everything" and prompting them to to Purchase Modern Warfare or exit. Do you need Modern Warfare 2 for Warzone 2? Absolutely not, though you do need to download a free version of the Modern Warfare 2 launcher to access Warzone 2 if you don't own the game. If you're getting this error, make sure that you've downloaded the latest version by checking for updates, then restart the game and if necessary your console or PC as well to resolve the issue so you can log in.

Warzone 2 error code PUGET - LAKES, Modern Warfare 3

As with many other entries on this list, the MW3 and WZ2 error code PUGET - LAKES relates to server issues, though in this case it seems to more specifically be calling out overpopulation ie the servers have become too full of players. This is often seen after waiting in a queue, and means you've been kicked out of it as there's no space for you. Unfortunately, as things stand the only way to fix this error is to keep trying or come back later when the servers are hopefully less busy, though this should only be a temporary issue around the launch.

Warzone 2 Dev Error 657, Modern Warfare 3

Not much is actually known about MW3 and WZ2 Dev Error 657 at this point, as it seems to have been a recent introduction to the reporting system. However, as with the other Dev Error codes these usually relate to files being missing or an update is required, so check you game to make sure it's complete and up to date – there's more details on how to do this under Dev Error 6036 below.

Warzone 2 error code Status: SAVANNAH, Modern Warfare 3

The Modern Warfare and Warzone error code Status: SAVANNAH often appears when you try to connect with friends, and is usually accompanied by the message "Unable to join game session, the host cannot be joined or game play is paused" when that connection fails. It may not seem like the logical explanation from that description, but this issue mainly comes about when your game isn't patched to the latest version, so check for updates following the standard process and you should be able to upgrade then connect with friends again.

Warzone 2 error code WOLTER - FRANCIS, Modern Warfare 3

With the launch of Warzone 2 and greatly increased traffic to the servers, players are seeing the MW3 error code WOLTER - FRANCIS when trying to connect, often after being stuck on a "Waiting for datacenters" notification message for some time. This error means that the servers are being overloaded and a connection couldn't be established, so your best bet is back out and try again. You can also try restarting the game or your machine, and checking your internet connection is functioning correctly, but beyond that there isn't really a fix other than to keep trying, and this error should go away as the servers settle down.

Warzone 2 error code BLANDING - SCOTT, Modern Warfare 3

Some players are seeing the MW3 error code BLANDING - SCOTT intermittently appear as a popup in the corner of their menu screen, often accompanied by a connection error message. However, this doesn't seem to be having any effect on the actual functioning of the game, and may be related to back-end connections with the Store that haven't been fully implemented yet, so it's safe to ignore this error if it's not causing you any issues.

Warzone 2 error code NIAMEY - LEE, Modern Warfare 2

The MW2 error code NIAMEY - LEE is the official designation for the Modern Warfare 2 status installing glitch, which is stopping players from accessing the game by presenting a progress bar that never completes. To fix this, simply hit the Options button to open the side menu and choose any of the available options – Quick Settings at the top should do it – then back out again. This will have the effect of pushing you through to the next menu screen, from which you'll be able to reach the rest of the options.

Warzone 2 Dev Error 6036, Modern Warfare 3

MW3 Dev Error 6036 is actually an error code that has also appeared through several previous iterations in the series, and when it was seen in Vanguard it related to localized versions in languages other than English. Back then the initial solution was to revert the interface language to English until the developers could push out a permanent fix, so if you're playing in a different language then it's worth trying this as a temporary resolution for the error.

However, a more common cause of Dev Error 6036 in Modern Warfare 3 is that the game files, an update, or multiplayer data hasn't downloaded correctly. The easiest fix for this is to restart the game, at which point it should automatically resume any downloads or updates to complete the required files. However, if that doesn't work you may need to manually check for an update or verify game files as follows:

• PlayStation: Press the Options button while hovering over the MW3 icon and select Check for update.
• Xbox: Press the Start button while hovering over the MW3 icon and select Manage game and add-ons.
• Battle.net: Press the cog icon next to MW3 and select Check for Updates. If no update is found, select Scan and repair.
• Steam: Right-click on MW3 and select Properties then Updates to make sure automatic updates are turned on. If nothing is downloading, select Local Files then Verify integrity of game files.

PC players may also encounter the Modern Warfare 3 Dev Error 6036 due to an issue with the Cache Spot Shadow and Cache Sun Shadow settings, which can be disabled to rule this problem out. Do this by going to the Graphics settings in the Options, scrolling to the Shadow & Lighting section, then disabling the Cache Spot Shadows and Cache Sun Shadows options before restarting the game.

If none of those fixes work, then unfortunately you may need to either delete the game completely and reinstall it, or wait for the developers to push out a patch that addresses the issue.

Warzone 2 error code TRAVIS - RILEA, Modern Warfare 3

MW3 error code TRAVIS - RILEA is another indication of connectivity issues with the servers, which may be accompanied by a message saying "Connection Failed" or "Timed Out" while trying to start the game. As with the other errors above, check the usual sources online to see if there any current problems with the servers and verify that your own internet connection is trouble-free. If necessary, restart your router and reboot your machine to see if that knocks any kinks out of the system that may have been holding things up.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 has racked up over 25 million players in just five days.

Revealed on November 21 by the official Call of Duty Twitter account, Warzone 2.0 has had an incredibly strong start to life. The latest release in the Call of Duty franchise surpassing 25 million players in under a week since launch is an impressive figure for the battle royale follow-up.

In fact, it appears Warzone 2.0 is on the same pace that the original Warzone set back in 2020. In just three days after launch in March 2020, Warzone gained 15 million players worldwide on all platforms. That's an average of five million new players a day, which Warzone 2.0 is matching after five days of general release.

Warzone 2.0 might have a tough time keeping pace with the original game from here on out, though. The first battle royale game in the Call of Duty franchise managed a staggering 50 million players in its first month after launch, which is an absolutely colossal figure that any game would realistically struggle to match.

So far at least, Warzone 2.0 has had an interesting start to life. The new game comes with the DMZ mode, which was talked of as an 'Escape From Tarkov killer' prior to launch, and it seems players are so far struggling to get to grips with the pacing and difficulty of the new mode, with many getting easily gunned down by NPCs.

The new game also has age-old bugs to contend with, including the returns of the infamous Superman glitch, and the invisibility bug. It's still early days for the sequel, but there's no doubt it's succeeded in retaining an audience from the original game.

The infamous Warzone invisibility glitch has made a grand return in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0.

Reports of invisible players in Warzone 2.0 first arose over the past weekend, seemingly beginning with streamer SuperEv drawing awareness to the issue with the tweet below (thanks, RockPaperShotgun). The streamer gets downed by gunfire from a player that doesn't appear to show up in the nearby vicinity, immediately raising suspicion. 

In the post on the Warzone-dedicated subreddit seen just below, another player depicts their brutal killing at the hands of an invisible player. This post really clearly outlines the fact that the invisibility glitch is back with an unfortunate bang once again in Warzone.

How long this glitch sticks around though, remains to be seen. It's worth noting that developers Raven Software and Infinity Ward haven't publicly flagged the invisibility glitch on their in-progress bug reporting Trello boards, meaning they might not even be aware of the issue.

The invisibility glitch has serious notoriety in Call of Duty: Warzone. The original battle royale game was plagued by the bug for a number of months, with the issue seemingly being stamped out a number of times, only to re-emerge periodically in different modes. 

The Call of Duty: Warzone community was constantly frustrated by the return of the invisibility glitch, and it's easy to see popular opinion swaying in a similar direction this time. Here's hoping Warzone 2.0 stamps out this bug sooner rather than later.

When Warzone 2.0 launches later today, all your existing COD Points will transfer over - with a few caveats.

As CharlieIntel reminded followers with the tweet below yesterday, your COD Points in all current Call of Duty games will transfer over to Warzone 2.0 today on November 16. However, you need to be playing on the same platform for Warzone 2.0 as Modern Warfare 2, or else you'll lose out on COD Points from the latter game.

The reason for this is that your COD Points are actually linked to your Activision Account. Considering that information, you'd be forgiven for thinking you could transfer your COD Points across console platforms and PC, but that apparently isn't the case for some reason.

That means, of course, that when Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 launches later today, you'll need to sign into your Activision Account to retrieve your COD Points. If you've forgotten your password, now might be a good time to remember it or file for a forgotten password with Activision ahead of the launch.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 devs started work on the new Al Mazrah map straight after the original Verdansk map was finished.

The new detail comes from an interview with The Washington Post, who quizzed Infinity Ward game director Jake O'Hara on Warzone 2.0. "We started on this map straight after Verdansk," O'Hara said of the huge new Al Mazrah map, which launches as the featured Warzone 2 map later today on November 16.

"We kind of rolled from that one to a little bit of a breather and then we started laying the foundations for the next map, which is Al Mazrah. It’s a chance to refine what we did last time and a chance to build on all the lessons," the game director at developer Infinity Ward continued.

O'Hara goes on to reveal that Al Mazrah is designed around two core tenets. The first is stitching together 18 points of interest that define the massive map, and the second is taking everything the development team learned from watching player behaviour on Verdansk after Warzone first launched several years ago.

The director goes on to add that when Verdansk was first being created, Infinity Ward was working with "fresh technology and a fresh set of tools to make it." O'Hara and Infinity Ward wishes they could've done plenty of things differently with Verdansk, even if it all turned out okay in the end. Al Mazrah is two years of learning for Infinity Ward, all rolled together into one monumental map.

Call of Duty's newly-announced Warzone 2 DMZ mode doesn't have Escape From Tarkov players worried about their game losing its player base.

Yesterday on November 9, Infinity Ward and Raven Software pulled back the curtain on big plans for Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, launching next week on November 16. Headlining the showcase was DMZ, said to be a narrative-driven open-world experience, where teams compete to battle each other and AI over objectives.

If this sounds familiar, some saw DMZ as a direct competitor to Escape From Tarkov, even before the former was announced yesterday. Now that DMZ has finally been unveiled though, Tarkov players are pretty much unanimous in denouncing DMZ as a major competitor to their game, as you can see via the litany of tweets below.

DMZ might be one of the bigger focuses for Warzone 2.0, but right now at least, it doesn't seem like Escape From Tarkov players are concerned about it as a competitor. Things might very well change when said players actually delve into Warzone 2.0 for themselves next week, of course, but right now many are sceptical of the newcomer. 

Elsewhere yesterday, it was announced custom loadouts are making a grand return in Warzone 2.0, and that's alongside a brand new backpack system, that'll make it easier to manage your inventory in every in-game mode. Warzone 2.0 is certainly arriving in a packed shooter scene, but it's already making moves to improve on what came before.

This time, you don't need Modern Warfare 2 to play Warzone 2, as the two are entirely separate experiences and downloads. 

The original Warzone is going down for 12 days after the launch of its follow-up, before being reborn as Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera.

Warzone 1 will go down on November 16 at 8am PST / 11am EST / 4pm GMT as part of what Activision Blizzard describes as an "intermission" in its official blog post. 12 days later, following launch support for Warzone 2 and a holiday break for the developers, the original version of the battle royale will return on November 28 at 10am PST / 1pm EST / 6pm GMT.

As of the November 28 relaunch, the game will be known as Warzone Caldera. There you'll be able to jump into standard battle royale playlists. Rebirth Island and Fortune's Keep will not be present in Warzone Caldera, but Activision says "exciting developments" for smaller battle royale maps in Warzone 2 are coming in future seasons.

You'll continue to have access to content and progression from Modern Warfare 2019, Black Ops Cold War, and Vanguard in Warzone Caldera. There will be no in-game store, but COD Points will be transferable between games. 2XP and 2WXP tokens, however, will not.

Activision answered the question 'will Warzone 2 replace Warzone when it releases' some time ago, but today's announcement provides much more clarity on what the relaunch will actually look like - including the new title.

Today also saw more details on Warzone 2's custom loadouts, third-person playlists, and DMZ mode, alongside the confirmation that Shoot House and Shipment will return in Modern Warfare 2 Season 1.

Your personalized Warzone Legacy video is a great way to celebrate everything you've achieved in the battle royale, since it first launched back in March 2020. Once you've generated it you'll be able to show off your KD ratio, Gulag performance, favorite Operator, and a whole load of additional stats from your time in the Warzone. You can even see which one of your squadmates fell to their death the most, though that one is more likely to be the source of gentle mocking than celebration within your group!

This is happening because Warzone 2 is just around the corner, launching on November 16 with a whole new battle royale experience to get started on. We know that the answer to the question will Warzone 2 replace Warzone is a resounding "no," however there's bound to be a large shift in players over to version 2.0 so now feels like the right time to celebrate everything that happened in the original. Where to get your Warzone Legacy video

To request your personalised Warzone Legacy video, you need to visit the official website and enter your Activision ID – if you're not sure where to find that, we've got an explanation below. Once that's done, you'll be presented with your Warzone Legacy video detailing all sorts of stats, including your first drop date, most used weapon class, most deployed Operator, and who your most used squadmates have been.

At the end of the video you'll see a Veteran Action Report summary, which you can also download as an image from the link below the video, and there are additional links to share the video to social media platforms or download it. Bear in mind that your squad members' details are also in the video, so make sure you check with them before sharing it publicly.

How to find your Activision ID

In order to get your Warzone Legacy video, you'll need to enter your Activision ID on the website, but as this isn't something you use every day and is potentially different from your general online ID, it pays to know where it is. To find you Activision ID, you can open the Social page from the menu in Modern Warfare 2, Vanguard, Black Ops Cold War, Warzone, or Modern Warfare then view your profile – we've highlighted where it is in MW2 above. You can also find it by logging on to the Call of Duty website with your email or platform account, then looking in the top right corner of the screen next to the My Call of Duty button.

Call of Duty: Warzone veterans can look back on their career with a new personalized Warzone Legacy video.

Earlier this week, Activision Blizzard debuted Call of Duty: Warzone - Legacy, a brand new website-based feature that grants a highlight compilation for players. By putting in your Activision ID, you'll receive your very own personalized highlight reel, including a bunch of statistics.

For example, you'll get a complete tracker of the number of games played, games won, kills, and deaths across your time spent in Warzone. There's also squad-based statistics as well, so you'll be able to see which friend died the most in Warzone among your regular crew. 

Considering how popular Warzone was over the last few years, especially during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic, it's a nice touch to be able to reflect back on the battle royale shooter. It's also great to include player's friends in the highlight statistics, so you can see who let you down the most in crucial moments. 

This is, of course, all done to prelude the debut of Warzone 2 later this month on November 16. When the new iteration of the shooter launches, Warzone will effectively be discontinued, remaining online for anyone to play on, but ceasing regular updates and new games modes. 

Just like its predecessor, Warzone 2 will be entirely free-to-play. As Activision Blizzard previously announced though, the new game has been made using the same game engine as the new Modern Warfare 2, and going forward, all Call of Duty games will be constructed using this same base game engine.

Call of Duty: Warzone's whacky April Fool's mode is back ahead of the battle royale game winding down development.

Call of Duty: Warzone developer Raven Software has quietly added the April Fool's mode back into the battle royale game with little fanfare. 'Totally Normal BR,' as the mode is called, literally warns players away from activating it on the game's main menu screen.

This mode is, and we don't say this lightly, absolutely batsh*t. Totally Normal BR has players diving into the map headfirst without any parachutes, but with the added caveat of them not taking any fall damage. You'll also begin every match with literally every Perk enabled at once.

On top of that, players are also kitted out with the Panzerfaust rocket launcher, but exploding shells from the weapon don't actually kill players. Instead, they send enemies flying backwards through the air, so you'll need to race after your opponent and finish them off the old fashioned way.

Finally, Totally Normal BR has unlimited Gulag matches for deceased players. Yes, you read that correctly, but the catch is that they're only unlimited Gulag matches if you win them. Otherwise, you're booted right out of the match and forced to start the whole thing over again.

As we mentioned, the return of Totally Normal BR preludes the end of Warzone's ongoing development at Raven Software. The developer released a set of patch notes last week, saying it was "most proud" of its quality of life changes over the past year or so before the final update went live. Warzone 2 launches next month on November 16, and will be taking over as the active battle royale game for the series.

One big new feature of the sequel is the Warzone 2 Proximity Chat, and it's set to be one hotly-debated addition. 

The next free Warzone Combat Pack has landed to celebrate Season 5 of Vanguard and Warzone, titled 'Coastal Villa' and themed around travel through the countryside, supplying a fresh skin for Operator Constanze Muller combined with weapon blueprints, a watch, and emblem, and a whole lot more besides. The Coastal Villa bundle gives you a total of nine Warzone freebies altogether, and these are exclusive to PS5 or PS4 as you need to be a player on one of Sony's platforms with an active PlayStation Plus subscription at Essential tier or above to add them to your locker.

You'll find the Warzone free Combat Pack, Coastal Villa, on the PlayStation store – just search for 'Combat Pack' if it doesn't show up on any Warzone pages, or browse for it through the in-game store under the Franchise Store option. As long as you're signed up for PS Plus, it should just have an 'Add to Library' option so you can instantly claim it – no downloading is required.

For the seconds it takes to do that you'll get a Vanguard themed bundle with a skin for Operator Constanze Muller, as well as Sniper Rife and Shotgun blueprints, a watch, charm, calling card, emblem, sticker, and a token for 60 minutes double XP. That's not a bad range of gear for a free gift, and it'll help you look good on the battlefield... as long as you're not paired up with a group of other PS Plus subscribers who've all had the same idea.

What's in the Call of Duty Warzone Combat Pack Coastal Villa 

The Warzone Combat Pack for Vanguard Season 5 is themed around the Operator Constanze Muller, who is one of the Sentinel soldiers unlocked by Vanguard. The gear you can get for her is all either Legendary or Epic level and includes both Sniper Rifle and Shotgun blueprints.

While most of this is cosmetic, the blueprints are pretty solid. The Sniper Rifle gives you a Mercury Silencer muzzle, Kovalevskaya 820mm R1MN barrel, ZAC Custom MZ stock, plus a Heavy Foregrip underbarrel, .30-06 20 Round magazine, Lengthened ammo, and a Leather Grip to the rear. Meanwhile, the Shotgun supplies an A5 Smoothbore muzzle, Sawed-Off barrel, 1913 Variable 4-8x optic, Removed Stock, alongside a Double Aught magazine, Buck and Slug ammo, and a Pine Tar Rear Grip.

The Double XP Token can be found and activated by following the View Tokens prompt in the Warzone menu, though you should bear in mind that these consumable items countdown in real-time rather than in-game time – you don't want to end up exhausting their time while sat in a lobby.

The game formerly known as Project Aurora has been officially named Call of Duty Warzone Mobile. 

Appearing on GameSpot's mobile show, Swipe, Activision's vice president of mobile Chris Plummer said, "I'm happy to announce that the real title for Project Aurora is Call of Duty Warzone Mobile." The announcement was accompanied by a teaser, which was also posted on the official Call of Duty Warzone Mobile Twitter account. The footage, which you can check out below, is only a few seconds long and doesn't really reveal anything outside of the official title. 

During the GameSpot show, Plummer also discussed the team's experience of building a pocket-sized version of the battle-royale shooter. "Our core experience here is to bring Warzone to mobile for the first time, and that has a lot of interesting challenges to it because the scale and ambition that Warzone has always had… we want to do that justice."

Activision has promised more on the mobile version of Warzone will be shown at Call of Duty: Next, a livestream showcase that's taking place on September 15. Described by Activision as an "era-defining" event, the livestream will reveal "the imminent future of Call of Duty ". As well as Warzone Mobile, the publisher promises new details on Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.

Rumours of a phone-friendly version of Warzone have been doing the rounds since as early as September 2020, but the project was only officially announced in March this year. "This large-scale, battle royale experience is being built natively for mobile with cutting-edge technology designed to entertain gamers around the world for many years to come," Activision said.

Alpha testing for Call of Duty Warzone Mobile began in May, and shortly after, some dataminers digging around in the code managed to uncover concept art that could be from Black Ops 5.

Call of Duty Vanguard & Warzone are getting another skin bundle from The Umbrella Academy, this time the pink puppy head-wearing Hazel.

Following on from Cha Cha’s addition last month, Call of Duty Vanguard and Call of Duty Warzone are getting yet another skin taken straight from the pages of Gerard Way’s superhero comic book - rather than the popular Netflix TV adaptation. Revealed in a short trailer, we can see the weirdly adorable assassin doing what assassins do best whilst sporting the pink puppy head and a suit.

The legendary operator skin also comes with two legendary weapon blueprints including the Electric Lollipop and Sugar Loader, both of which look sickly sweet and compliment Hazel and Cha Cha’s aesthetics perfectly. Alongside this, players can also pick up a variety of other extras in the bundle including a new finishing move, weapon charm, emblem, calling card, and more. 

In other Call of Duty news, we are just weeks away from the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which is set to release right before Halloween on October 28, 2022. In fact, we’re getting so close to its release that leaks have already started to appear online. Last week, one leak contained some Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 gameplay that showed driving and swimming sections.

Speaking of Modern Warfare 2, we’ve also got Call of Duty: Warzone 2 to look forward to in the not-so-distant future, which Infinity Ward is developing alongside MW2. We also recently got a sneak peek of what we can expect from Warzone 2 thanks to a recent ESRB rating for the game. According to the rating, Warzone 2 could launch with the much-anticipated DMZ mode.

A big Call of Duty event in September will give more information on Warzone 2 and unveil the "imminent future" of the franchise more broadly.

The "era-defining franchise event" is called Call of Duty Next, and it will air on September 15. Along with new Warzone 2 deets, the showcase will feature "many more details" on Modern Warfare 2 as well as the "full reveal" of Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer. And for those of us who prefer to do our Call of Dutying on the go, expect to see more on Warzone mobile, codenamed Project Aurora.

Activision says the event will also feature "a multitude of your favorite streamers at the event, playing the games in real time." Hopefully that means we'll also get to see some Warzone 2 gameplay, but that seems less likely, as Activision is specifically saying we're getting "info" on the battle royale follow-up. 

Finally, the showcase will have "information and surprises" on something they're not ready to reveal. It's been reported that the series is skipping its mainline annual entry in 2023, but Activision responded by saying it has "an exciting slate of premium and free-to-play Call of Duty experiences for this year, next year and beyond." 

Also revealed today were the Modern Warfare 2 beta dates for all platforms. As expected, PlayStation players who've bagged a pre-order get the earliest access, starting on September 16, while all other PlayStation users get in a couple of days later. The next weekend opens up the beta for Xbox and PC players. As with the PlayStation beta, folks on Xbox with pre-orders get access to the beta a couple of days earlier than those without.

Fans are venting their frustration over the audio issues plaguing Warzone Season 4 Reloaded.

The new Warzone update went live last week, adding a zombie-themed event to Fortune's Keep and Terminator cosmetic bundles. Unfortunately, it also seems to have brought some serious sound problems to Activision's battle royale offering.

As reported by Charlie Intel, Warzone fans have noticed that other players and vehicles have been making no sound whatsoever, which isn't ideal in a game where reacting to the noises around you is crucial for staying alive. In a post on the Warzone subreddit, one user asked whether the game's audio has "sunk to a game-breaking quality level" for other players. "I could have two guys sprinting behind me and hear nothing whatsoever," explained the player. 

Sadly, they are far from alone, "Literally had a guy parachute down a shaft right on top of me", replied one user. "Didn't hear anything on my side. I would think I would have heard that." Another player described how they were swiftly taken out by a silent chopper, "The other day I got squished by a helicopter that literally made no sound as it approached me."

Multiple Warzone fans note that the audio has worsened following the latest update. "I felt that it was starting to get better with the S4 drop, but I think this last patch screwed something up," commented user Wildesane. Raven Software is undoubtedly aware of the issue, but when a fix will be available is anyone's guess. Until then, you'll have to keep your eyes extra peeled when on the battlefield.

Plenty of Warzone gun buffs and nerfs have arrived with the Season 4 Reloaded update, including tweaks to Vanguard’s most lethal assault rifles. This update patch seeks to rein in a variety of attachments for those low-recoil assault rifles, such as the BAR and STG44, while also buffing plenty of other attachments for all sorts of other weapons. Warzone Season 4 Reloaded is really shaking things up for a mid-season update, so it’ll be interesting to see how the meta changes for the rest of Warzone Season 4. The latest patch for Call of Duty: Warzone has arrived, and Season 4 Reloaded brings some welcome news for Modern Warfare fans, as weapons from that game are getting more viable.

The viability of Modern Warfare weapons has been a sticking point for some time, ever since Black Ops Cold War's weapons took over the meta. Some players went as far as calling the Modern Warfare weapons "unplayable" in the wake of more viable alternatives originating in Cold War and Vanguard.

But the latest patch shifts the balance significantly, as Charlie Intel notes. Vanguard's powerful NZ-41 has been nerfed hard, with less recoil control, range, and damage potential. (The NZ-41 had recently gotten a fairly substantial buff.) The devs have some broad balance changes in mind for the assault rifle category.

"As it stands, the best performing builds are ones that result in the least amount of recoil," the devs explain on the official site. "It’s high time we take a pass at some of the major outliers so that Vanguard assault rifles are less likely to devolve into pin-point accurate lasers."

That change comes on top of some direct buffs for Modern Warfare weapons. The CR-56 AMAX, Kilo 141, and M13 all have more damage potential, and the Kilo in particular no longer has its mid-range damage drop-off.

Those changes are already proving popular among players. "Honestly, best looking update I've seen since the day the game launched," aminnesotabro69 writes on Reddit. "Shows that Raven is actually really trying to find a gun balance and not just have Vanguard guns rule all."

The Warzone Season 4 Reloaded update goes live later today at 9AM Pacific time, bringing a zombie-themed event to Fortune’s Keep and Terminator cosmetic bundles. Later in the Warzone Season 4 mid-season update, you’ll also be able to dive into the Rebirth of the Dead mode on Rebirth Island with three other squadmates. It's a horror-themed gamemode in which you'll play a frantic match with nine other teams where dying means you’ll come back a zombie to terrorize the living. There’s plenty more available in the Warzone mid-season update, so here’s what you need to know about when it launches.

Warzone Season 4 Reloaded release time

The mid-season update for Warzone Season 4 launches later today (July 27) at the following times:

• 5PM BST (UK)
• 6PM CEST (EU)

Expect an update for your chosen platform to go live around the relevant time which you’ll have to install to be able to get back into Warzone and try out the new arrivals.

There’s a new public event on the Fortune’s Keep map called Cursed Ground. There are cursed chests scattered about the island that contain Cash, Killstreaks, and Perk Totems, but the only way you’re getting into them is by defeating hordes of undead and harvesting Wisps. There’s also the Rebirth of the Undead mode which arrives next week and allows you to become a zombie to assist your squad if you die. However, if you collect enough antivirals as a zombie, you’ll un-undead yourself and return as a normal Operator.

Speaking of Operators, lots of new cosmetic content is being added to Warzone Season 4 with this update. Ikenna Olowe joins the battle and playing as him allows you to gain bonus Weapon and Operator XP if you also use the new Vargo-S Assault Rifle that’s also being added. Terminator 2 fans can also get their Arnie on with T-800 and T-1000 skin bundles that will be available for a limited time throughout August, and they might not be back!

Call of Duty: Warzone fans are becoming increasingly frustrated with the prevalence of cheating in Season 4. 

Since the new season of content launched earlier this month, players have been taking to social media to share clips of various instances of suspect plays. A recent clip posted to the game's subreddit, though, has players piling in to share their grievances. The clip itself shows a player on a tower taking shots at other, barely visible players with perfect accuracy. Clips like these are somewhat easy to get, as you can spectate someone who kills you to see if they're suspicious. 

"It's been really bad the last couple weeks," one player comments. "Getting to be unplayable. My squad sees them almost every game now."

That comment sums up the gist of what you'll see online, with others chiming to share experiences or remark how blatant it's becoming in other areas. As spotted by Charlie Intel, one pro player has even taken to social media to question if the Ricochet anti-cheat has just been turned off lately.

Activision does comment on the state of cheating in Warzone on a somewhat rolling basis. In a progress report from June, the team explained that tackling cheating in Warzone is an ongoing fight as bad actors keep finding new ways to exploit the game and bypass safeguards. 

"Anti-Cheat solutions work like anti-virus software," the team says. "Let's assume that, today, we know all the nefarious ways cheaters try to impact the game to ruin your experience. Our team uses that knowledge to protect against that bad behaviour and punish bad actors. While our team has been able to establish systems that can quickly detect and respond to bad behaviours, we know tomorrow will continue to deliver new and evolving threats."

That said, the developers say they're getting swifty at detecting bad behaviour and acting appropriately. Activision also confirmed that Ricochet Anti-Cheat will launch with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 on launch.

"This is possible because of the foundation Team Ricochet has developed and iterated on since it first launched, as well as the close collaboration we have with game teams. Ricochet Anti-Cheat continues to get smarter and better as time progresses.

"Will you encounter cheaters? Sadly, perhaps yes, but we are working endlessly to be faster and better to get them out of the game (by force or by annoyance) and let you focus on fun."

Call of Duty: Warzone's new Fortune's Keep map, which was added as part of the big season 4 update this week, has an Easter egg that lets you summon a loot-filled zombie when you "pay respect" to an old meme.

As detailed in a video from TheGamingRevolution, there's a little ritual you need to perform to summon Warzone's new meme zombie. If you find a few seconds of peace in-between making mince meat out of operators with the newly buffed NZ-41 rifle, you can light five candles around the graveyard area of the Fortune's Keep map. That'll unlock a prompt at a specific headstone that lets you "press F (or whatever your controller's equivalent is) to pay respects." This is, of course, a reference to a popular meme spawned by an awkward scene in 2014's Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

A few seconds later, a zombie will appear in front of the gravestone rocking a familiar T pose from Black Ops Cold War's season 2 Outbreak event. Shoot the zombie dead and you'll bag yourself some self-revive kits and cash.

Warzone season 4 is now live at long last with the aforementioned Fortune's Keep map, big changes to Caldera, a new game mode, event, battle pass, and plenty more. The battle royale's new season launched alongside a Vanguard season packing a bunch of new Zombies content, a new multiplayer map, and the re-debut of the fan-favorite mode Gun Game.

Warzone's big season 4 update is finally live with a new map, Caldera updates, the new Resurgence battle royale mode, and loads of weapons balancing updates.

It's only natural that a patch as wide-ranging as this one will divide the player base somewhat, but there's a particular balancing change that's raising eyebrows more than all of the others. The NZ-41, which recently overtook the STG44 as Warzone's most popular gun, according to The Loadout, is now an even more capable weapon thanks to a number of season 4 buffs.

As detailed in the complete season 4 patch notes, the NZ-41's initial firing recoil control has been increased from 20% to 30%, its Orbweaver 360mm's bullet velocity has been increased by 40%, its burst-fire cooldown decreased from 300ms to 265ms,  and its burst fire now supports auto burst, so you can just hold fire and keep on firing off bursts. Granted, there are a couple of nerfs, but they aren't as numerous or significant as the buffs.

Meanwhile, the STG44, another very popular weapon, has been dealt a laundry list of nerfs. Chiefly, it's minimum damage is down from 30 to 29, its muzzle velocity has been lowered by 1.8%, and its head and neck damage multipliers have both been reduced some.

Looking at Warzone communities around the ol' interwebs, it seems the general consensus is that the NZ didn't need to be buffed, especially when the comparable STG44 has been significantly nerfed. "Dude the NZ basically is untouched and the STG got nerfed into the ground," laments Battle111.

"It was a monster before. Now it will delete even quicker," Tallandlanky predicts. 

"There's no f***in' way these guys nerfed the STG but buffed the NZ41 lmao," says xiDemise.

The Warzone Terminator operator skin has been officially announced - or rather, two separate Terminator skins. Arnie's original T-800 model from the very first film, and the iconic T-1000 played by Robert Patrick in T2 are both coming to Call of Duty Warzone, and while their inclusion won't be until a little further into Warzone Season 4, Activision have made it pretty clear how to get the Terminator operator skins in Warzone once they're officially part of the game. We'll cover the details properly below, while fighting back the retching, impulsive urge to quote lines from the movie.

How to get the Terminator T-800 and T-1000 skins in Call of Duty: Warzone

The Terminator skins in Call of Duty: Warzone are planned to be released as individual Bundles in the mid-season of Warzone Season 4 - so at least a few weeks into the season itself, rather than part of the June 22 launch.

As outlined on the official Call of Duty blog, the two variations of evil Skynet droid will each be sold separately as part of their own bundles on the Warzone store, and for a limited time, though exactly how long that'll be remains to be seen (previous history tells us anywhere from a week to a month, but usually a fortnight). There's no indication that there'll be any other way to get them beyond paying with COD Points, and frankly we don't expect there to be - tie-in characters in Warzone from other franchises are nearly always locked as premium DLC. 

Pricing for the two skins has also not been revealed, though bundles featuring existing characters from other franchises in the online COD Store have usually cost 2400 COD Points, so while we don't know for certain what the final price tag on these killer robots will be, that's the safest guess until more information is revealed. 

Bundles also tend to come with other extras - they wouldn't really be bundles otherwise - so expect to see weapon blueprints, cosmetics, finishers and tracer effects packaged in with those skins (the two bundles are literally referred to as Tracer Packs, so this last element seems especially likely).

Call of Duty: Warzone's anti-cheat software has a new mitigation technique to hopefully curb the amount of cheaters ruining everyone's fun: take the cheaters' guns away mid-game.

Activision published a blog this week addressing the current situation with Warzone cheaters and the newish Ricochet anti-cheat system. In the article, the developers behind Ricochet explain that tackling cheating in Warzone is like a game of cat and mouse: as solutions are identified and implemented to combat cheating, the cheaters are already working on new ways to get around those guardrails and the rules of the game.

That said, there are a number of existing mitigation practices in place which exist to let detected cheaters remain in the game for enough time to analyze their methods but also minimize their impact on other players. Essentially, it's a way to annoy cheaters as much as possible while the anti-cheat devs observe them and find new ways to catch them. 

For example, a "damage shield" stops cheaters from being able to inflict critical damage on other players, thereby letting rule-abiding players identify cheaters and report them or, better yet, capture video evidence of their crime and baffled reaction to share with the internet. Another existing technique makes all players invisible to detected cheaters, leaving them confused and helpless.

The newest strategy from Ricochet is to simply take cheaters' weapons away, including their fists. That way, if you see a player swinging at you but not doing any damage, you know you're probably dealing with a no-good cheater.

Call of Duty: Warzone fans have come together to piece together a new Resurgence map ahead of Season 4’s launch. 

Activision got the ball rolling with some teases this week as content creators and streamers started receiving slices of cake with a part of a new map printed on top of it. That gave the community part of the puzzle, though the remaining pieces came in response to a light riddle on Twitter. Once everyone had all the details they needed, a new Resurgence map called Fortune’s Keep swiftly came together. 

Activision has posted the finished map to Twitter, so you don’t have to go too far to find it. Warzone’s Fortune Keep’s map appears similar to Rebirth Island, being somewhat smaller than Verdansk at first glance. That said, you still have plenty of points of interest to check out. Town, Overlook, and Graveyard are clustered to the left side of the map, while you can find areas like Winery, Camp, and Lighthouse with more space between them over to the right side. 

Activision hasn’t offered a firm release date on the new map, though we imagine it’ll arrive with Warzone Pacific Season 4. 

The developers introduced Warzone’s Resurgence game mode sometime after the battle royale’s launch. It takes the typical last man standing formula and shrinks it in size. You’ve only got around 40 players in each game, the Gulag is gone, and the game is only lost when everyone on your team is out. 

While a lot of chatter is turning to the upcoming Call of Duty: Warzone 2, there’s still plenty to come for the original game.

Call of Duty: Warzone has temporarily lost its Combat Bow Killstreak, and fans want it to be a permanent solution. 

Developer Raven Software announced in a tweet today that it has "temporarily removed the Combat Bow Killstreak" from Call of Duty: Warzone due to "an ongoing issue." Not so surprisingly, this has come as good news for fans who have been asking for the developer leave it out permanently. 

A quick scan of the tweet's replies shows fans asking: "How about you remove peak? It’s been an ongoing issue since the map came out," and suggesting: "You can keep it out. I'm sure nobody would mind." Popular Warzone streamer BobbyPoff rejoiced over the news, adding, "Y'all don't have to put it back in."

There are of course some players who go against the grain and feel it is a good asset to have in the game, but these are few and far between.

If you weren’t aware, the Combat Bow Killstreak is a constant point of contention within the Call of Duty community, with the biggest complaint being that it's just too dang OP. On the other hand, some folks find it has a very slow reload, is tough to get kills with, and the scope and the bow itself block a lot of the player’s view. 

As for when the Combat Bow Killstreak will return, Raven Software hasn’t specified just yet. However, by the sounds of the community, it’s not something that players are in a hurry to see return. 

In other, weirder, Call of Duty news, it turns out Call of Duty Warzone gives you XP if you tickle King Kong's tackle. Yes, you read that correctly. 

Call of Duty Warzone's wild Godzilla vs. King Kong event is live, and of all the outlandish stuff the update includes, the XP farm hidden between Kong's legs is probably the weirdest.

Now, before you go asking me how I know about this very NSFW XP farm, all credit for discovering it goes to Redditor Mundoschristmas (thanks, Charlie Intel), who appears to have flown a helicopter into the tight space between King Kong's legs and used the blades to tickle out some precious XP. I haven't seen any other similar videos, so it's possible this was just a glitch. In fact, I'd be a little worried if it wasn't a glitch. Still, if you want to try for yourself, just download Warzone's latest update and launch the new limited-time mode, Operation Monarch. You'll need to be crafty if you want to get close enough to investigate this - for science, of course - as Charlie Intel notes that King Kong is particularly aggressive when it comes to choppers. One can only image he's even more aggressive when you're inches away from putting the big ape's balls through a blender.

A recently published Call of Duty: Warzone 2 video that contains details about the upcoming sequel apparently has accurate info in it, according to an industry insider.

The video in question is by YouTuber NerosCinema, who claims that they were contacted by someone who has played Warzone 2 ahead of release and has been leaking details about the game online. As echoed by NerosCinema, it’s best to take all of the claims made by this person - as well as others who leak information - with a grain of salt as there’s no way to verify the leaked information yet.

That being said, industry insider Tom Henderson, who is now known for sharing leaked information about a variety of games (including Call of Duty) has said that "a lot of this is true" regarding NerosCinema’s video. Henderson does also say though: "I'm assuming there are some discrepancies because the source can't remember exact details... But yeah, leak overload inbound, it seems."

If you don’t want to risk finding out anything about Call Of Duty: Warzone 2 before its release, we suggest you stop reading here as we are going to discuss a little of what was revealed in NerosCinema’s video. 

According to the video, Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is apparently "more like Blackout (the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Battle Royale mode) than the original Warzone." NerosCinema’s source also claims that loadouts are still going to be part of the game but will be locked behind "strongholds" which - according to the video - will work as mini objectives that once achieved will unlock the loadouts. Weapons in Warzone 2 will also apparently only have five attachments instead of 8 this time around.

For a short time, the process of how to get Mechagodzilla in Warzone proved elusive for players trying to pick up this particular Tracer Pack. As the third Store bundle released to coincide with the Warzone Operation Monarch event, those who planned to join the Monsterverse as Warzone Mechagodzilla with new skins, weapons, and other customization items were left wanting, as initially only the Kong and Godzilla packs could be found in Call of Duty Warzone without embarking on an expensive work-around. However, this issue has now been resolved, so if you need to know how to buy Mechagodzilla in Warzone then this transaction has become much simpler.

How to buy Mechagodzilla in Warzone

Initially there was an issue where only the Kong and Godzilla Tracer Packs were available for individual purchase through the Store tab, which was causing players to look into an expensive workaround for how to get Mechagodzilla in Warzone. Thankfully that's no longer required, as the Warzone Mechagodzilla pack in now live on the Store in its separate form, so you can buy it directly for 2,400 COD Points without any fuss or additional purchases required.

Previously, the only way to get Mechagodzilla in Warzone was to head to the Operation Monarch tab, where you'll see an offer to "Buy Multiple Bundles, Earn Rewards" you can view. If you follow that prompt you can buy the Godzilla pack, which will then take you to the screen for the Kong pack, and if you purchase that too then the option will appear to buy Mechagodzilla in Warzone. Bear in mind that each of these packs costs 2,400 COD Points, meaning you'll need to drop the equivalent of around $60 / £50 to purchase all three which is a significant investment for cosmetic items.

To clarify, the 'multiple bundles rewards' referred to are an exclusive Godzilla v Kong Weapon Sticker and "Superspecies" Player Title for purchasing two bundles, and an exclusive Legendary Owen Gun Blueprint for buying all three. Now that the Warzone Mechagodzilla is available separately, there's no need to make these multiple purchases, unless of course you want to own more than one pack and claim those additional rewards.

Noxious green gas nips at my ankles, bullets whiz past my head, and a rumbling that resembles the sound of an oncoming tornado puts my heart in my throat. I go prone and desperately try to reload my LMG, which takes up far too much of my precious little time – the gas is encroaching. I slam the clip into position and get ready to run for an outcropping of rocks about 50 yards ahead of me, but just when I stand up to make my move, a piercing, otherworldly scream shakes my very skeleton and an impossibly bright streak of bluish-white light slices through the air in front of me. It's the last thing I see before it all goes dark. 

This is typical for a round of Warzone Operation Monarch, Call of Duty's best ever limited-time event. In it, Warzone Pacific is invaded by Godzilla and Kong, and you are but a lowly foot soldier scrambling around their titanic feet like a helpless little ant. I haven't had this much fun in Warzone in months, and I haven't encountered a crossover event that feels oh-so-right. If Warzone stayed like this forever, I'd be happy. 

Monster mash 

I let out a peal of shocked laughter a few seconds into my first Warzone Operation Monarch match when I drop out of the smoking, doomed airplane, pull my parachute, and find myself floating right at Godzilla's eyeline. The King of Monsters is standing just off of Caldera's northern coast, stomping around like a demonic kid having a temper tantrum. It's a sight to see, really, this alien beast hanging out in such a grounded world, and it only gets more ridiculous from there. 

Operation Monarch matches require you to stay alive during a 60-player Resurgence on a smaller part of Caldera while gathering Monarch Intel to earn rewards. Monarch Intel can be stacked up by finding it in supply boxes, drops, and on fallen enemies – or by doing damage to Godzilla and Kong. The reward tiers include a gas mask, an armor satchel, a loadout drop, and the super-powerful Titan S.C.R.E.A.M. device. It's the Titan Killstreak that elicits such a loud whoop from me that I startle several of my coworkers – this thing is wild. 

During the match, Godzilla and Kong are pretty content with stomping around looking angry – during this phase, they're pretty harmless. But it's when they go into Titan Frenzy that you have to watch out: Godzilla unleashes his powerful heat ray in a straight line that slices across the map, while Kong hurls a huge hunk of uprooted Caldera earth that does circular AOE damage. If you get a Titan Killstreak, you can basically use Godzilla or Kong as an extra-lethal precision airstrike, and the results are epic. 

Towards the end of one of my first matches, with half my team gone thanks to Resurgence expiring and three full squads left, a perfectly placed atomic breath from Godzilla team wipes an entire squad in the building next to me. In the wake of his atomic breath lies a streak of smoldering blue earth that my teammate and I use as a makeshift ring wall to protect our backs. We take out the last two squads the old-fashioned way, with Godzilla screaming his approval in the background. How can you not love this?

The perfect LTM 

Usually, I have notes for a limited-time mode. With Halo Infinite's Last Spartan standing, I want fewer power-ups and better spawns. With Apex Legend's Control, I want smaller maps and different loadout options. But as far as Warzone's Operation Monarch goes, I have no notes. Unlike the Krampus event, which forced players to deal with the irritating NPC in order to play the traditional battle royale, Operation Monarch has its own playlist. If you want to drop into some chaotic carnage, it's there waiting for you like Godzilla sleeping at the center of Earth for years. But if you're looking for the classic experience, you can avoid the titans entirely.

And unlike the Halloween event – which I adored – Operation Monarch feels like the most organic crossover Warzone has seen yet. It finds the perfect balance between fun and frantic, between new mechanics and existing ones. The resurgence formula means an errant boulder landing on your head won’t necessarily be the end of your match, and the blending of Power Grab features with the traditional battle royale makes powerups frequent. I win a few early matches, get eliminated fast in the next few, but find myself jumping back into the playlist faster than in any other Warzone mode. 

In one match, my squad is forced to retreat from the Peak at the center of the map and make our way down the mountain, where we're caught in enemy fire and have to duck into a tent for cover. Just as it seems like we'll get a second to catch our breath and shield up, Kong leaps from the Peak and lands directly on my teammate's head, instantly killing him. Another teammate lets out a nervous giggle before Kong flattens him too, and I back further into the tent for cover, but within moments, the king of the jungle team wipes our entire squad. Laughing to myself, I immediately start up another match, because Warzone Operation Monarch is just that damn good.

The mobile version of Call of Duty: Warzone is now known under the codename Project Aurora, and Activision Blizzard has provided a few details on what to expect now that a closed alpha is getting underway.

The alpha is "limited in size," public sign-ups are not yet available, and participants will not be allowed to share details publicly. As the devs explain in a new blog post, they are "looking to simply start to improve tuning, stress test matches, identify and fix bugs, as well as collect feedback and insights on all aspects of the game as new features come online."

For now, access to the closed alpha will only be provided through direct invites, but the devs do plan to expand the scope of the alpha, as well as future tests, as development on the game progresses.

As far as when you can expect to play the release version of Project Aurora, the devs say "we couldn’t be more excited about bringing this exciting experience to mobile gamers around the world, but we haven't officially announced even the name yet and don’t have a release date to share at this time. We will have many updates and posts before then and we will eagerly share the release date once it is finalized."

Activision Blizzard officially announced a mobile version of Warzone earlier this year, tied to a host of new job listings as the company looked to recruit developers for the project.

As part of its annual financial report, Activision Blizzard said that Call of Duty Mobile had nearly matched the number of monthly users of the main games and Warzone combined.

Meanwhile, Warzone's Godzilla vs. Kong mode is finally getting underway in the existing game.

The Warzone Monarch event brings Godzilla and King Kong to Caldera, letting players fight among the Titans, and battle to use them as Killstreak weapons against other teams. There are also special rewards for hitting certain milestones as you play, like charms, emblems and calling cards. What is the Warzone Operation Monarch limited-time mode?

The Warzone Operation Monarch event start time is May 11 to May 25 and sees the movie monsters Godzilla and King Kong arriving on the island. They'll patrol, attacking at random with players battling to take control of them to use their abilities as killstreaks. There are also rewards like charms and calling cards to win for competing in the mode. 

How do Godzilla and King Kong work in Warzone? 

Both Godzilla and King Kong will appear as giant monsters on Caldera, with Godzilla patrolling around the outskirts of the island, while King Kong jumps around the land. 

In terms of attacks, Godzilla will use his heat ray breath to occasionally torch areas on the island. The effect is similar to a Precision Airstrike, with red circles appearing on the mini map to show where it's going to land. King Kong on the other hand will leap around the island destroying and vehicles or killing players he comes into contact with. Even just touching him will put you into a downed state so it's best to steer clear. 

How does Operation Monarch work in Warzone?

The Warzone Operation Monarch mode is a 60 player, quad team game with Resurgence rules. Players will be able to find Monarch Intel in supply boxes or drops, from defeated opponents, and by damaging either of the monsters. Collecting it will unlock killstreaks and Loadout drops. 

However, the real aim is to max out the Monarch Intel meter to get a Titan killstreak. This earns one team the S.C.R.E.A.M. Device (a, sigh, "Sonic Communication Radar and Echolocation Array Module"). Using this device you can direct one of the Titans to attack specific areas and use them against enemy players. Specifically, you'll gain control of either Godzilla's heat ray, or a ground pound from Kong. 

Only one of these devices can be active at a time. 

Titan Frenzy is a risk/reward attack on the monsters in Warzone

During Operation Monarch matches in Warzone, a Titan Frenzy can trigger. This will see both King Kong and Godzilla attack more frequently and unpredictably, following an alert warning. 

Player can either run away and play it safe, or attack the monsters when in a Frenzy state - the team that does the most damage will automatically get a S.C.R.E.A.M. device. while runners up will get Monarch Intel that counts to filling their own Monarch Intel meters.

There are a range of Warzone Operation Monarch rewards during the special event, with eight specific challenges to compete for: 

• Play for 6 Hours - Epic Ancestral Skull Charm
• Use a Godzilla or King Kong Killstreak Once - Rare Ancient Remains Charm
• Use a Godzilla or King Kong Killstreak Three Times - Rare Monarch Eyes Only Charm
• Deal 500,000 damage to Titans - Rare Concrete Jungle Sticker
• Deal 135,000 damage to Kong in Titan Frenzy Events - Legendary Team Godzilla Emblem
• Deal 135,000 damage to Godzilla in Titan Frenzy Events - Legendary Team Kong Emblem
• Collect 3,000 Monarch Intel - Epic Skyline Crasher Calling Card
• Place in the Top 15 twelve times - Epic One Will Fall Spray

As well as the specific event challenges there are also general "rewards" for playing, and taking on a Titan Frenzies. There's also mention of a secret reward for "for the brave (or just plain reckless)". You can also claim these Warzone Godzilla and King Kong Calling cards without even taking part.

You might be wondering when the Warzone Operation Monarch event start time is, which sees Godzilla and Kong appear on Caldera. When is the Warzone Operation Monarch event?

The Warzone Operation Monarch event start time is 9am PST/12pm EST/5PM BST/6PM CEST on Wednesday, May 11. 

You’ll likely need to install an update, so make sure you’re ready at the correct time to get that installed so that you can hop into the Warzone event as soon as possible. You can claim some Warzone Godzilla and King Kong Calling cards right now while you wait. 

Operation Monarch runs for two weeks and will end on Wednesday May 25 also probably around 9am PST, so your time to fight Godzilla and Kong is quite limited.

Warzone Pacific Season 3 has been largely themed around the unearthing of some monstrous fossils on Caldera. There have been a lot of Warzone Season 3 map changes and even a new Dig Site POI where the giant bones are most visible, but this event brings the real deals to Caldera. The event is introducing a new limited-time mode called Operation Monarch which sees Godzilla and Kong battle on Caldera, causing havoc across the map and potentially killing any Operators that are unfortunate enough to get in the way.

The mode is for 60 players in teams of four and includes new Monarch Intel found in crates and supplies. Collect them to fill up your meter which will award you with a SCREAM Device, which allows you to unleash a Godzilla heat ray or Kong ground pound on a place of your choosing. There are also Titan Frenzies – instances of either Kong or Godzilla becoming enraged and attacking wildly – in this mode. You can either escape the attack areas to stay safe or deal as much damage as you can to the frenzied monster. If your squad deals the most damage to the Titan, you’ll automatically get yourself a SCREAM Device as a reward.

The Call of Duty: Warzone Operation Monarch Event launches this week, and the developers have provided a new trailer and blog post showing exactly how the Godzilla vs. Kong mode is going to work.

Operation Monarch is a limited-time, 60-player Quads mode that will be available from May 11 through May 25. Godzilla will circle Caldera, intermittently firing his heat ray breath, creating dangerous spots similar to precision airstrikes that'll be highlighted on your minimap. Kong, meanwhile, will leap around the island, crushing vehicles and downing players wherever he lands.

During the match, you might get a Titan Frenzy alert, indicating that the monsters are about to start attacking more furiously. The squad that deals the most damage to either monster during the frenzy will get a S.C.R.E.A.M. device, a killstreak item that will let you direct an attack from Godzilla or Kong toward any point on the map. You'll also be able to pick up a  S.C.R.E.A.M. device through a full intel meter, which you can fill by scavenging, hitting supply drops, or dealing damage to the monsters.

Beyond that, it's Warzone as you know it: the last squad standing wins.

There will also be a series of eight challenges you can complete in order to get some themed charms, emblems, stickers, calling cards, and sprays. You can see the full list on the official site, plus a look at all the paid cosmetics that'll tie into the event.

The Warzone devs have been teasing the arrival of Godzilla and Kong for a nearly infuriating length of time, but that wait is nearly over. Please, keep Warzone weird.

The Warzone Operation Monarch event lets players fight around the famous monsters on Caldera and ultimately control them like a killstreak. How to find the Warzone Monsterverse and claim the free calling cards

Accessing the Warzone Monsterverse calling cards is easy as long as you know where to go. First up you'll need to head to the official site which you can see above, and hand over your email address. 

You'll then be sent a code that you can redeem here to claim the calling cards. 

Copy and paste over the code you were sent in the email and you'll see the Warzone Calling Cards appear. These will then be added to your account as options to use in-game. 

Once you've got them you can then decide if you're Team 'zilla or Team King and get ready for when the monsters walk Caldera.

The best Warzone Nikita AVT loadouts play to the strengths of this interesting assault rifle. It's got a "best-in-class fire rate" according to it's in-game description. You'll unlock this AR for free at level 31 in the new Warzone Battle Pass means it's definitely worth checking out. Well kitted out, is a formidable machine gun with pronounced but easily manageable recoil in Call of Duty Warzone. 

We've come up with a couple of Warzone Nikita AVT loadouts here that play off that impressive fire rate. The first option ups the ammo and range to create an almost LMG-like weapon that can keep up sustained fire. While the second strips everything back to SMG levels of bullet spray, while still keeping a decent range and accuracy. As we mentioned, there is a very noticeable recoil but it's predictable and easy to control, so just be aware of that if you're going to try this gun out.

This Warzone Nikita AVT loadout is built around the idea that you'll start firing and won't stop until all the problems are gone. The 6.5 Sakura 60 Round Drums are the heart of that, boosting fire rate, recoil and accuracy along the way, as well as upping movement speed to keep you mobile. The M3 Ready Grip on the other hand increases movement speed again, plus aim down sight and sprint to fire speeds, which helps counter some of the debuffs of the barrel and stock.

We also went with a G16 2.5x sight as a good all rounder (but swap in whatever works for you) and the Fully Loaded Kit to give you some extra ammo.

This Warzone Nikita AVT loadout boosts the fire rate further, and makes something that feels like an SMG but still performs like an assault rifle. It's built around the ZAC 358mm Rapid barrel and the boost that gives to the rate of fire. It comes at the expense of overall damage, but the amount of bullets this thing spits out kind of covers that. The G28 Compensator muzzle, Express AVT RS stock, Carver Foregrip and Stippled Grip all then work together to increase accuracy, recoil and aim speed. The one weird choice we've made here is the MR 25 Round Fast Mags. For some reason they really seem to make the gun more controllable, despite only supposedly boosting aim speed and reload. Switching this option out for the more obvious 45 round mag option seem to add a much more powerful pull to the recoil. Obviously the 25 round choice means more reloading but the mags themselves and the Slight of Hand proficiency increase speed there. The result is a incredibly solid, high fire rate AR that can really dominate medium ranges.

Warzone's upcoming Godzilla crossover lets you spectacularly yeet players across the map.

Teasers and images have been circulating for some time, hinting that Godzilla could be coming to Call of Duty: Warzone. And last week, Activision officially announced that the King of the Monsters is lined up for the battle royale's next crossover event. Warzone's Operation Monarch update launches on May 11 and will see both Godzilla and King Kong added to the action.

The new Warzone Season 3 content has some fans excited for a very specific reason, a finishing move that lets you pick up enemies and send them flying across the map. Reddit user Devilxxx10000 posted a video of the move in action on Warzone's subreddit, saying, "Oh, I can't wait to yeet people!" Other players are similarly enthusiastic. "I'm buying this one just for the yeet," writes MJasdf. While Grim_Sleeper__ comments that the player on the receiving end of this mighty move was "Yeeted into another game's universe".

The short clip also showcases the "Breath of Godzilla" weapon. This assault rifle looks like a mini Godzilla and shoots icy-blue heat ray tracers in a nod to the monster's heat ray attack. 

The next Warzone is being developed alongside the Modern Warfare sequel. Activision has recently announced that Warzone's successor will be revealed this year with "groundbreaking innovations". And Call of Duty cheaters are in for a tough time as an anti-cheat system means they can't see or hear enemy players.
