Dame Shirley Bassey - whose hi-octane vocal style made classics of such title songs as Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever and Moonraker - is reuniting with her James Bond colleagues for a brand new album.
Set for release this November, The Performance will include the track Our Time Is Now, written by the Bond soundtrack dream team of composer John Barry and lyricist Don Black. It's the first time they've collaborated since 1971.
"It's been quite a few years since Diamonds Are Forever but that lyric still applies to Dame Shirley," says Black, whose innuendo-laden wordplay received Bassey's golden, glamorous touch. "She lustres on."
The album is produced by five-time Bond composer David Arnold and also sees the pride of Tiger Bay belting out songs by the Manic Street Preachers, the Pet Shop Boys and Richard Hawley.
