Or more accurately, my guide to the Spore Achievements and Badges. I'm not normally a guide writer, but I am a collector personality, so badges and achievements are one of my favorite hooks in a game (or my biggest nightmare; it depends how hard they are to get!). This guide will include the badges and achievements available in Spore, as well as how to get them. When possible, multiple ways to achieve something will be listed. +--------------------[ A Note on Cheating ][164D][B56A] While the cheats available in the console window (Ctrl+Shift+C) look appealing for earning several achievements, DON'T CHEAT. If you do use one of the console commands that are considered "cheats", the save game you cheated on will no longer count towards *any* achievements (already earned achievements will remain). Cheats can earn you badges just fine (in fact, the Joker badge is awarded for cheating), but you will no longer earn achievement credit. (Cheating can earn you an achievement in one special case: Pathological Cheater, for earning the Joker badge 50 times) Note: For some people cheating has locked them out of achievements until the cheating save is deleted, rather than just locked them out of achievements for that save. If starting a new game isn't enough to get you achievements again, try deleting all saves in which you used a cheat. +----------------------[ Alphabetical Achievement List ][0C0D]-----------------+ To view your achievements, open the Sporepedia at any time during the game, and select the Achievements button on the left side. All of the achievements will be listed, and the ones you have will be highlighted and in color. You can also view your achievements earned (or anyone else's) by visitng http://www.spore.com/view/achievements/YourNameHere This section will only be a reproduction of the list found in the Sporepedia in the game. For tips and tricks to earning them, see the Achievements By Category section. == Adamantium Civilization Complete Civilization stage on Hard setting == Alter Ego Play the Space stage as all 10 Destroy Earth == Pathological Cheater Use a cheat more than 50 times == Slugger Finish Creature stage without legs +-------------------------[ Achievements by Category ][1D59]-------------------+ Now I'll include tips and tricks to actually obtain the achievements. They'll be sorted like so: - General: These achievements can be earned in any stage, or must be earned through some actions in all of the stages. Note that while the "_____ Stage Unlocked" achievements only require action in a single stage and can only be unlocked there, I include them in this section because these are the achievements allowing you to start new games further down the evolutionary ladder. - Cell: These are unlocked through actions in the Cell stage. - Creature: These are unlocked through actions in the Creature stage. - Tribe: These are unlocked through actions in the Tribe stage. - Civilization: These are unlocked through actions in the Civilization stage. - Space: These are unlocked through actions in the Space stage. Note that Badges, only availabe in Space, have their own section, and do not carry across game saves. Each section will have a division of tilde (~) characters to separate the "secret" achievements from the rest. +--------------------[ General ][1D59][0CB3] The following achievements can be earned in any stage of Spore (or, alternatively, must be earned in all of them). == Architect Req: Create and share 50 buildings == Automotive Engineer Req: Make and share 50 vehicles == Biologist Req: Create and share 100 creatures Tips: * If you like the creators, these should be simple * If you don't like the creators, you can throw random junk together, or alternatively, grab someone else's junk and modify it. Someone may notice the stunt and think less of you for it, but then they have to _find_ your modification, first. == Civilization Stage Unlocked Req: Finish the Tribe stage Tips: * Make babies as soon as you can, whenever you can * Domesticate strong animals (if you have creatures following you in Creature stage that were not your species, they'll automatically be domesticated) to help town defense * Leave one or two tibe members to gather food, and use *all* of the rest of them to attack or ally with another tribe. Come home to rest and eat between battles/serenades == Creator Req: Spend 50 hours in the creators Tips: * You should be able to leave the game in the creator and go do something else, if you're not interested in actually _engaging_ in the creator == Creature Stage Unlocked Req: Finish the Cell stage Tips: * Herbivores and Omnivores can eat (and grow) quickly by hanging around the large plant clusters - depending on how much you can get to before the AI does, you can often grow large enough to start eating the next tier of the same plant, so you don't have to even move * Omnivores are just cells which eat near-equal amounts of plant and meat. You can have two mouths! * Scale your skeleton up to max size, for more surface area to put your cell parts == Deja Vu Req: Discover something you created in another game Tips: * Just explore until you find one of your own creations. I often run into my own species during the beginning of Space stage, on my home planet no less! And that counts == Front Page News Req: Have one of your creations or Sporecasts featured on www.spore.com Tips: * Be ready to spend a lot of time in the creator making something that looks awesome * Give your creation relevant (and CORRECTLY SPELLED) tags to make it easier to find * Make friends, and ask them to rate up your creation(s) == Galatic God Req: Reach the Space stage in one game session Tips: * If you don't have the time to do this, try leaving the game running, but paused. Even if your "session" happens to be 72 hours, it's still one session ;) * On the other hand, you may have no life like me, and get this one on accident the night you buy the game! == Photographer Req: Send a photo or video to a friend from Test Drive mode Tips: * Go into the creature creator. Create something (anything!). Send a picture of it to yourself from the Test Drive mode. If sending to your Spore-account email address does not work (I haven't tried it), look up mailinator.com - they accept any username for an email address as valid, so you can send your picture to literally AnyDarnThingYouWant@mailinator.com. The game does not attempt to check if the recipient read the mail, or even that the mail arrived, only that you sent it == Rising Star Req: Have 5 Sporecasts subscribed to by at least 10 people Tips: * Make 5 sporecasts. I suggest putting 50 things in each, and if you look at the Social Engineer achievement, you'll know why. Now, make some friends. I can't help you with that last part == Social Engineer Req: Make 5 Sporecasts with 50 creations Tips: * You can make a sporecast and populate it with absolutely anything. You're *supposed* to have a theme to it, but there's no requirement. Adding creations one-by-one can get tedious, though, especially since you need, ultimately, to add 250 creations to sporecasts. == Space Stage Unlocked Req: Finish the Civilization stage Tips: * Create a couple vehicles instantly and go capture the geysers on your continent. The other civilizations will rarely attack your geysers (even on Hard mode after pissing everyone off), so there's no pressing need to defend them * Overwhelm your target cities with religious or military vehicles (if you're not going for economic victory), and if they start dying off, replace all the ones that have died with new ones from the nearest city * Enemies will usually only attack with one or two vehicles at a time; a compliment of turrets will be sufficient defense, even on Hard mode * The biggest danger you may face is an Epic creature taking interest in one of your cities, or being between your city and the next opposing one. And Epic can one-shot your vehicles, two-shot your turrets, and three-shot your buildings. Fortunately they cannot capture your city, but they can certainly soften you up for an opponent. Treat Epics near your cities as serious threats == Spore Addict Req: Spend 100 hours in your Spore galaxy == Spore Fan Req: Spend 50 hours in your Spore galaxy Tips: * You could leave the game idle for 100 hours, but you'd succumb to eco disasters, and if you're at war you'd probably lose some colonies as well. You could save your game and then idle, and then quit without saving, but you might need to do the full 100 hours that way, as I'm not sure if credit for this achievement is stored in your game saves or on your account. It's probably best to just continue conquering the galaxy until, eventually, you get it == Tribe Stage Unlocked Req: Finish the Creature stage Tips: * If you want to go the social route, it is critical get at least 1 in each of the social attributes ASAP. Getting values in the combat attributes is less critical - more of a "I want less downtime" than a "I need it to think of succeeding" thing * If you find a creature named "Rogue ____", befriend it IMMEDIATELY. Rogues are much more poerful than any other ally you can come accross, both in social and combat attributes. And since they're flying solo, having even one backup dancer means you're almost guaranteed to befriend them == Universe in a Box Req: Play in every stage and every creator Tips: * The creators accessible from the main menu do count * Not every creator is available from the main menu; for example, the Colony Vehicle editor must be done from one of your colonies in the Space stage ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ == Bad Baby! Req: Have one of your assets banned Tips: * This requires having a creation banned from the server. Earning this achievement is accomanied by a 7 day ban from online play. == Can't Win for Losing Req: Die once in every stage Tips: * This may actually be difficult to do in Tribal and Civilization, as you have multiple things that need to die to count as "dead". In Cell, Creature, and Space, you're almost guaranteed to die if you're on Hard mode (doubly so if you try invading the Grox territory in Space) * For Tribal, get all of your neighbors mad at you by attacking them. Don't make babies whenever a tribe member dies, and the raids should start swiftly * For Civilization, similar applies. Make your allies anrgy with some attacks, then turtle up, but drop the shell, as it were (remove all turrets) == Pathological Cheater Req: Earn 50 Joker badges Tips: * The descrition says cheat 50 times; this is false, as granting yourself 1 billion sporebucks requires 100. This achievement actually requires cheating 50 times /in separate games/, earning you the Joker badge, proving that you've cheated * PLEASE NOTE: USING A CHEAT WILL PREVENT YOU FROM EARNING ANY FURTHER ACHIEVEMENTS ON THAT GAME SAVE * I'm going to say it again, just to make sure we're clear on this: === PLEASE NOTE: === CHEATING PREVENTS YOU FROM EARNING FURTHER ACHIEVEMENTS IN THE SAME SAVE * In order to cheat, open the console menu with Ctrl+Shift+C * Not all console commands are cheats. Specifically, the ones which grant you an in-game advantage will give you the Joker badge, and count as cheats: - setConsequenceTrait - evoadvantage - moreMoney - refillMotives - unlockSuperWeapons - spaceCreate +--------------------[ Cell Stage ][1D59][1FAE] == Aluminum Cell Req: Complete Cell stage on Hard setting Tips: * Exploit the fact that death has no real penalty. You get a (skippable) animation/cutscene, and are back to before you died (without whatever ate you looming over your shoulder). Since the Cell stage is completed by gaining enough DNA, so long as you can get at least 1 DNA between deaths, you're making progress. The only way you can fail is if you simply give up == Cell Addict Req: Finish the Cell Stage 25 times Tips: * Fairly self-explanatory. If you're good enough to get Speedfreak, this should take ~3hr, 20min of cell stage playing. If you're not good enough to get Speedfreak, I hope you like fl0w :) == Completist Req: Unlock all parts in the cell stage Tips: * As soon as you see a part you do not have being used by another cell, avoid gaining DNA until you kill one of them for their cell part. Several parts (especially the Probiscus mouth and the Electrode weapon) are only possible to find in a narrow size range, and can be difficult to find == Landfall Req: Finish the Cell stage and clamber onto the planet's surface Tips: * Herbivores and Omnivores can eat (and grow) quickly by hanging around the large plant clusters - depending on how much you can get to before the AI does, you can often grow large enough to start eating the next tier of the same plant, so you don't have to even move * Omnivores are just cells which eat near-equal amounts of plant and meat. You can have two mouths! * Scale your skeleton up to max size, for more surface area to put your cell parts == Pacifist Req: Finish the Cell stage without killing another creature Tips: * Use an Herbivore mouth (Carnivore and Omnivore mouths can both harm other cells) * Do not add any weapons to your cell (5 flagella is perfectly fine, though) == Speedfreak Req: Finish the Cell stage in under 8 minutes Tips: * ??? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There are no scret achievements for the Cell stage +--------------------[ Creature Stage ][1D59][14FD] == Bestial Req: Play the Creature stage 10 times Tips: * Self explanatory. ~10hrs if you can get Speed Demon == Devourer Req: Eat 50 different species Tips: * On a carnivore or omnivore, eat each time you extinct a race. Depending on how many races you extinct, this would probably take 3 playthroughs (this achievement allows what you eat in several games to count) == Epic Killer Req: Kill an epic in Creature stage Tips: * Get Spit 5 * Get Jump 5 and Glide 5, or alternatively Speed 5 (or all 3) * Recruit 3 Rogues * Find an Epic and start spitting. Your Rogue friends probably won't attack (and if they do anything but Spit, they're gonna die), but they should be able to fend off any other creatures that try to interrupt you. * This is going to take some time, and you will get hungry. Be an omnivore so you can eat anything you come across * I've had people claim that while spitting at the Epic, the epic would not attack any other target; so they dragged the Epic to their home nest, where the other members of their species attacked the Epic, accelerating the damage output * Do *NOT* let the Epic get out of your line of sight; if you have to search for the Epic again, the game may have despawned/respawned it, healing it back to full. If you don't lose LoS, the Epic will never get despawned * Another option is to lure the Epic back to your home nest, and attack any way you like. You'll die (often), but you should be able to get at least one attack in each time you're born again, and you don't have to move far to get back into the fight. Make sure you do have some sort of Spit, though, because sometimes the Epic will start to wander off, and you need to bring it back == Everyone's BFF Req: Befriend 20 other species in Creature stage Tips: * To befriend, match the actions of the creature you're trying to impress. Impressing enough creatures (usually 3) of a single species will befriend that species. Herbivores get a special power that makes impressing a creature easier * Sing: musical notes appear above the creature's head Dance: the creature hops around on its feet while a fast beat plays Charm: the creature does some action (usually a pirouette and ending with a shake of the butt) with the sound of chiming bells Pose: the creature spreads its arms and bows, with the sound of trumpeting fanfare * You can get this achievement after filling your progress bar to go to tribal. Just gon't click the blue button in the corner * Getting level 5 in all of the social abilities (Sing, Dance, Charm, Pose) helps immensely, as does recruiting Rogue creatures to your pack * Impressing Alpha creatures will give you a new body part == Evolver Req: Finish Creature Stage Tips: * If you want to go the social route, it is critical get at least 1 in each of the social attributes ASAP. And since they're flying solo, having even one backup dancer means you're almost guaranteed to befriend them == Flight of the Bumblebee Req: Fly for 200 meters Tips: * Glide 5 and Jump 5 are basically required * Spice geysers and volcanoes give you an updraft while flying * Don't fly over deep water * Epics are able to pick you up and throw you. Just be careful they don't stomp on you instead! == Foe Req: Extinct 20 species in Creature stage Tips: * Make sure your pack is filled with strong allies (eg: Alpha creatures), with Rogues being better than any other option * Exploit the fact that death has very little consequence - you're just sent back to your nest (and if you die before your pack members, they'll spawn back at your nest with you) == Iron Creature Req: Complete Creature stage on Hard Tips: * Exploit the lack of a death penalty * Being social means less frequent deaths, as you're allying with everyone rather than fighting == Max Power Req: Max out 4 stats in Creature Tips: * You can complete this even after your progress bar has filled and you're ready to advance to Tribal * Socialize with or defeat Alpha creatures for new parts * Examine piles of bones (esp. large bones) for new parts * Any 4 stats are acceptable == Socialite Req: Meet 200 creatures made by other players Tips: * Since Everyone's BFF and Foe both need 20 species, and you'll rarely get the same species in two games, expect 10 playthroughs of Creature for this one. (Note: I'm uncertain whether two creatures from the same player count as separate creatures, or whether Maxis counts as a player) == Speed Demon Req: Finish Creature stage within an hour Tips: * Give yourself some decent movement speed. Sprint wouldn't hurt, either * I found that being an aggressive species (such as achieveing Foe) was quicker overall than trying to be social or balanced, even on Hard mode. Recruit Alphas from your own pack until you find Rogues to replace them with, and go to town. Don't worry about how much you're outclassed unless you're /far/ outclassed, especially if you have Rogue backup == Survivor Req: Finish Creature stage without dying Tips: * A social creature will do best at this, since you have little fighting. A social herbivore doubly so, since you don't need to kill to eat (and if you went through Cell, an herbivore gives you a consequence ability to help socialize with angry species) * Stay far, far away from Epics * Stay out of the water * You can eat egs out of someone else's nest without getting them angry or doing any fighting == Village Folks Req: Have three different posse members Tips: * This requires having some of the social skills, possibly all of them, depending on what you run into in your game * Rogues are guaranteed to be a different species from anyone else, so they're always a safe bet for adding to your pack ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ == Cerberus Req: Evolve a creature with three heads Tips: * "Head" in this case actually means "Mouth" * You can have three identical mouths, but you need to have *three* of them * You need three *actual* mouths, not one mouth and one mouth duplicated due to bilateral symmetry. It's fine if all three mouths are duplicated by the symmetry == General Custer Req: Lead 30 posse members to their death Tips: * I believe this needs to be actual members you've recruited to your pack (someone correct me if I'm wrong) * This can be across multiple games * Epics are the easiest way to get a posse member killed == Slugger Req: NEVER put legs on your creature in Creature stage Tips: * The in-game text for this achievement says "finish". The achievement actually requires that your creature never has legs at all. Even putting on legs and removing them before leaving the creator is not good enough for this one. When going for this achievement, just don't touch legs or feet at all, ever * You can, however, sprint, jump, and glide. I believe sprinting is only available from feet and the jet squirter from the Cell stage, and if you remove the Jet after the first Creature modification, it's gone for good. High jump values come from feet as well, but the wings all have smaller jump values +--------------------[ Tribe Stage ][1D59][FA26] == Domestic Bliss Req: Domesticate three different species Tips: * Any pack members that aren't members of your own species at the end of the Creature stage will automatically be domesticated in Tribe stage. So if you got Village Folks without using your own race, you'll get this one automatically * Otherwise, set your stance to social and interact with a wild animal in Tribal - you'll give the creature some food, and they'll follow you back to your tribe. To this for 3 different species == Ergonomically Terrific Req: Complete the Tribal stage in less than an hour Tips: * As with Creature, I found this achievement much easier with an aggressive race, going for Vicious. Predators have an advantage with their Fire Bomb ability, destroying things faster. Socialites' fireworks will let your orchestra finish sooner * Your movement ability does affect your speed in this stage. A speed 5/jump 5/glide 5 race will reach the other tribes more quickly than a race used to get Slugger * The Combat stat gained from tribal outfits will help you kill faster. The Social stat will help you appease your audience efficiently * Only one or two tribe members need to be set to food gathering, while the rest go to outnumber the other tribe == Founder Req: Complete the Tribal stage and build a city Tips: * Make babies as soon as you can, whenever you can * Domesticate strong animals (if you have creatures following you in Creature stage that were not your species, they'll automatically be domesticated) to help town defense * Leave one or two tibe members to gather food, and use *all* of the rest of them to attack or ally with another tribe. Come home to rest and eat between battles/serenades == Steel Tribe Req: Complete Tribe stage on Hard setting Tips: * This is when you start having an actual penalty to losing badly - you start the entire stage over, rather than just where you left off. But only if every member of your tribe dies. So, make sure one or two members are always gathering food, and make babies whenever you're able to * Again, being a peaceful friendly sing-song hippie (I jest!) should result in less death in this stage. But watch out for the Epics! == Tribal Req: Complete the Tribal stage 10 times Tips: * Self explanatory. If you're going for Cell Addict, Bestial, and Relentless, why not go for this at the same time? == Tribal Socialite Req: Convert all 5 opposing tribes Tips: * Take all the tribe members you can afford and equip them evenly with all of the instruments you have available. Grab them and your chief, and head to a village to sing a song and be happy. Note that you must ally with *all* other tribes in this stage to get the achievement, thus precluding the achievement of both this and Vicious in the same game == Vicious Req: Destroy all 5 oppsing tribes Tips: * The best combat strategy I've found is as follows: - Gather all but one or two of your tribe members (and your chief) to form your raiding party. - If you have healing staves, equip two of them - For everyone without a healing staff, equip axes if you have them, otherwise spears, otherwise nothing (yes, ignore the torches) - Advance your raiding party to the opposing tribe, and attack their /members/ - Once all the tribe members are dead, steal their food - As soon as you have the food picked up, attack their hut * Taking their food and then attacking their hut will cause you to drop the food on the ground. But it's also not in their storage, which hinders (or outright stops, depending on difficulty) their production of babies, so you'll be free to destroy their hut virtually unmolested. I say to use axes or spears for your offense, because axes are most effective against units, and spears are generally useful. Torches are only useful against buildings, but since you're attacking the hut practically for free, there's no need for them. == Watchful Parent Req: Complete Tribal stage without the death of a tribe member Tips: * Peaceful is really the only way to go with this. If you try to fight, at least one member will inevitably die * Hover your mouse over each new tribe as they appear, to check how they like you. If any tribe is orange or red, send them a gift IMMEDIATELY, so they don't try to attack you. An attack can easily lose you a tribe member, as well ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ == Medic Req: Heal a tribe member to full health 5x Tips: * This must be done in a single game * Best way to achieve this is to get several healers following a torchbearer around as they try to whck some wild Alpha creatures +--------------------[ Civilization Stage ][1D59][B6F2] == Adamantium Civilization Req: Complete Civilization stage on Hard setting Tips: * Like Tribal, losing (having your last city destroyed) means restarting the entire stage. * When the stage starts, immediately spend all of your money on land vehicles and go capture spice geysers. Ignore all mission goals until the spice geysers on your continent have been captured. This will give you increased spice income, and reduce the income of your immediate neightbors. * Next, make your city profitable and not unhappy. Unhappy citizens do not work, and unprofitable cities means you can't earn cash fast enough to compete. Additionally, a *happy* city can double their production. * Once your city is maxed out, make as many land vehicles as you can, and send them all to the nearest city. Destroy/Convert/Buy said city, max that city out, and repeat for each city on the map. (Once you have captured all cities on your continent, you'll have to move on to sea or air vehicles) * The NPCs rarely attack your captured spice geysers, so there's no need to send a vehicle to protect them (and if you're economic, you *can't* protect them anyway) * When the NPCs attack your cities, they'll often send only one or two vehicles against you, which can be easily dealt with by a full compliment of turrets. When you get an attack notification, check how many are attacking, you, and only fly to your city's defense if there's a large group. == Economist Req: Finish the Civilization stage with more than 8 economic cities Tips: * You really need to start as economic, and keep every city you buy as economic for this one. * Don't use your super power to purchase the entire map. The super power will leave all cities as the type they already are. == Ghetto Blaster Req: Create 10 Anthems Tips: * You must click the save button for the anthem. Merely creating it is not enough. * You can also earn this achievement in the Space stage. == Military Strongman Req: Finish the Civilization Stage with more than 8 military cities Tips: * You really need to start as military, and keep every city you defeat as military for this one. * Don't use your super power to defeat the entire map. The super power will leave all cities as the type they already are. == Missionary Req: Finish the Civilization stage with more than 8 religious cities Tips: * You really need to start as religious, and keep every city you convert as religious for this one. * Don't use your super power to convert the entire map. The super power will leave all cities as the type they already are. == Relentless Req: Complete the Civilization Stage 10 times Tips: * Self-explanatory == Rolling Thunder Req: Complete the Civilization stage in less than an hour Tips: * Be ruthless. Make your cities as profitable as possible, and send as many vehicles as you can as soon as you can. * Don't be economic for this one. Buying out a city takes much longer than defeating or converting it. * Make judicious use of your super powers. * This achievement will not be awarded if you haven't installed the first patch to Spore. == Spice Hoarder Req: Control all spice on the planet Tips: * You can get this achievement after you have already conquered the other cities. == Starman Req: Complete Civilization stage Tips: * See tips for Adamantium Civilization and Space Stage Unlocked ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ == Fear of Flying Req: Complete Civilization stage without air vehicles Tips: * You need to create some sea vehicles, and capture a coastal city, and then create land vehicles on the new continent to win. == Conclusion Req: Finish the Civilization stage by launching ICBMs Tips: * ICBMs are a super power of Military civilizations. * Once you have ICBMs available for use, fire them at all remaining cities. * Note that a city defeated by an ICBM cannot be made very profitable, if at all. The previous buildings will be piles of slag that you cannot remove, and take a very long time to go away on their own. +--------------------[ Space Stage ][1D59][A962] A note on "Galactic Code": During the Space Stage, other races expect you to adhere to the Galactic Code. The GC is a set of rules that basically prohibits you from doing the really fun destructive stuff. In-game, it's supposed to be a way to ensure your opponents have a fighting chance. Doing things like destroying planets will break the code. When the GC is broken, all races owning a system within 10 parsecs of the location your broke the GC will have a strong negative relationship bonus towards you. It can be overcome, but if you aren't already strong allies with them, they'll go to war with you. The only exception to this rule is the Grox, who gain a _positive_ bonus with you when you break the code. A note on "Archetypes": At the end of each stage, you are given a red, green, or blue card depending on the actions you took during the stage. For example, eating a lot of meat in Cell will give you the Carnivore (Red) card, eating a lot of plants in Cell will give you the Herbivore (Green) card, and eating a mixture of both will give you the Omnivore (Blue) card. At any time, you can access your history (Press the 'T' key on your keyboard) to see where you are at in relation to those three cards. The cards you recieve throughout the game determine your Archetype in the Space stage. Each Archetype has a different special power. The Archetypes are: * Bard (Philosophy of Chance): 1 Green, 2 Blue, 1 Red Soothing Song: Boost relationship with a species for 2 minutes * Diplomat (Philosophy of Order): 2 Green, 2 Blue Static Cling: Immobilizes enemy ships and turrets * Ecologist (Philosophy of Life): 2 Green, 1 Blue, 1 Red Safari Vacuum: Abducts several members of each species of plant and animal * Knight (Philosophy of Force): 1 Green, 1 Blue, 2 Red Summon Mini-U: Summons a clone of your space ship * Scientist (Philosophy of Science): 2 Blue, 2 Red Gravitation Wave: Destroy all cities on the planet Note: Gravitation Wave breaks the Galactic Code * Shaman (Philosophy of Harmony): 3 or more Green Return Ticket: Teleports you to your home planet * Trader (Philosophy of Prosperity): 3 or more Blue Chasin Infusion: Complete the progress bar on a trade route * Wanderer (Philosophy of Order): Start a new game in the Space stage Wanderers get no special power. Play the whole game! * Warrior (Philosophy of Force): 3 or more Red Raider Rally: Summons pirates to attack a planet * Zealot (Philosophy of Faith): 2 Green, 2 Red Fanatical Frenzy: Converts a system to your empire Note: Fanatical Frenzy breaks the Galactic Code A note on "Master Badge Level 10": Several achievements refer to "Master Badge Level 10". The Master Badges are rewarded for earning Badge Points (Badge Points are given whenever you get a normal badge). The progress bar at the bottom of the screen (which in previous stages showed length until stage completion) tracks your progress on the Master Badges. When the progress bar is full, you will earn the title Omnipotent, and will have Master Badge Level 10. == Alter Ego Req: Play as all 10 archetypes Tips: * Self explanatory. You only need to reach Space stage, not do anything in it. == Alter Ego's Alter Ego Req: Achieve Master Badge Level 10 as all 10 archetypes Tips: * Not difficult, but time consuming. Check out the Badges section for information on how to get some badges quickly and/or easily. == Bard Hero Req: Achieve Master Badge Level 10 as a Bard == Bard Passion Req: Play as a Bard == Diplomatic Hero Req: Achieve Master Badge Level 10 as a Diplomat == Diplomatic Passion Req: Play as a Diplomat == Ecologist Hero Req: Achieve Master Badge Level 10 as an Ecologist == Ecologist Passion Req: Play as an Ecologist == Knight Hero Req: Achieve Master Badge Level 10 as a Knight == Knight Passion Req: Play as a Knight == Scientist Hero Req: Achieve Master Badge Level 10 as a Scientist == Scientist Passion Req: Play as a Scientist == Shaman Hero Req: Achieve Master Badge Level 10 as a Shaman == Shaman Passion Req: Play as a Shaman == Trader Hero Req: Achieve Master Badge Level 10 as a Trader == Trader Passion Req: Play as a Trader == Wanderer Hero Req: Achieve Master Badge Level 10 as a Wanderer == Wanderer Passion Req: Play as a Wanderer == Warrior Hero Req: Achieve Master Badge Level 10 as a Warrior == Warrior Passion Req: Play as a Warrior == Zealot Hero Req: Achieve Master Badge Level 10 as a Zealot == Zealot Passion Req: Play as a Zealot Tips: * These are all self-explanatory. See the note on Archetypes to find out what is necessary for the ______ Passion achievements, and see the Badges section for information on earning Master Badge Level 10 to get the ______ Hero achievements. Master Badge Level 10 will be the same across all games. == Bio-Engineer Req: Edit 25 creatures with the Creature Tweaker Tips: * This requires using the Creature Tweaker item. See the Badges section for unlock requirements, and cost. == Careless Parent Req: Lose 5 planets Tips: * Colonize 5 planets far away from your home system. Don't even bother giving them defenses or raising their T score. * Start a war with an empire nearby these defenseless planets * Leave. You may want to go make peace with that empire afterwards, or alternatively save before starting the war, and reload the game without saving after getting the achievement. * Destroying you own planets also counts, if you don't want to go to war. == Civil Engineer Req: Promote 20 Tribes to Civilizations Tips: * This requires using the Monolith item on a tribe. See the Badges section for unlock requirements, and cost. * The achievement is awarded upon placing the 20th monolith. You do not have to wait for them to advance. * You can use the monolith on wild planets and tribal planets, but not civilization stage planets. (The game will allow you to use the monolith on a Civilization, and they will quickly advance to Space, but it won't count towards this achievement) == Conquistador Req: Capture 15 star systems Tips: * If you don't have an offensive super power (or you don't want to risk breaking the Galactic Code with the Gravitation Wave or Fanatical Frenzy powers), the Bomb series of weapons is the most efficient for capturing a planet. If you have the money, Antimatter Bombs will destroy a colony in a single shot. == Empire Builder Req: Maximize colinies on 10 planets Tips: * Fill every spot in the colonies, including the turrets. This means each planet must be a T3, and you must have 3 colonies on the planet. So that's 30 Colony Incredi-Packs, 360 colony Buildings (plus the 30 city halls given to you automatically), and 180 turrets. == Gunner Req: Destroy 500 other space vessels Tips: * Invest in the Missile series of weapons. Firing either missiles repeatedly, or alternating between the missile and the laser, will bring swift destruction to enemy ships. Ally ships will help as well. == Identity Crisis Req: Forge an alliance two space-faring civilizations of your own creation Tips: * The location of the save file on the main menu is the location of your home planet in the game. You have the same galaxy across all save games. So, if you know the location of your homeworld in one game, you can find it in another. Forge an alliance. == Manifest Destiny Req: Find Earth Tips: * Locations in the galaxy can be represented by an angle around the center, and a distance from the center. You can find your current location by hovering your mouse over the space ship icon above the Master Badge progress bar. * Earth is located at Angle: 225.06, Distance: 7,295.43 pc. == Maxis Scout Req: Earn 100 badges Tips: * This can span multiple games. If you go for a few Master Badges (and especially Alter Ego's Alter Ego), you'll get this one. == Palm Greaser Req: Pay 50 bribes in the Space stage Tips: * Races which don't particularly like you will ask for bribes to not go to war with you. * Races at war with you will sometimes ask for bribes to end the war. * Bribes are often in the 50,000 - 750,000 spore bucks range. The race asking for the bribe sets the price. == Quest Master Req: Complete 150 missions in the Space stage Tips: * Self explanatory. Any missions you have specifically accepted, you can delete from your mission list. For example, if you accepted a mission to destroy turrets on a planet, and it turned out that planet was one of your allies, you can open you mission list, and simply delete it. Deleting a mission does not count as a completion, but it also doesn't count as a mission failure (which gives you a relationship penalty with the race giving you the mission). == Quietus Star Req: Destroy 20 planets Tips: * You need to complete the destruction animation * See the badges section for information on how to unlock the Planet Buster == Split Personality Req: Complete a "Change Archetype" mission Tips: * When you are allied with a large empire (size 4 or 5 next to their name), you can ask them about their philosophy through the Diplomacy menu, and then you may choose to undertake a mission to adopt their philosophy. Bard (10,000,000): Collect 25 rare artifacts Diplomat (5,000,000): Form 5 new alliances Ecologist (10,000,000): Fill out 50 ecosystems Scientist (5,000,000): Explore 20 non-planetary systems Shaman (2,500,000): Paint or Sculpt 150 planets Trader (2,500,000): Sell 5,000 items Warrior (2,500,000): Conquer 20 systems Zealot (5,000,000): Create new colonies on 15 planets Attempting an Archetype Change mission for a Knight race will give you the Warrior Archetype, as both follow the Philosophy of Force. Attempting an Archetype Change mission for a Wanderer race will give you the Diplomat Archetype == Spore Addict Req: Spend 100 hours in your Spore galaxy == Spore Fan Req: Spend 50 hours in your Spore galaxy == Super Pilot Req: Spend at least 40 hours piloting your spaceship Tips: * Fairly self-explanatory, if time consuming. If you wanted, you could leave the game idle and then exit without saving for these achievements. * I'm not certain whether you need to be moving to earn progress towards Super Pilot. == Thief Req: Steal 50 crates of spice in the Space stage Tips: * Colonies that produce spice will have crates sitting in the colony which contain all of the available spice. Using your abduction beam, you can steal these crates, an get the spice for free. Of course, the race who owns the planet won't like it very much... * This must be done in a single game * Stealing from Civilization stage cities counts == Zoo Keeper Req: Make 15 zoo planets Tips: * This requires the Wildlife Sanctuary item. See the Badges section for more information on unlock and cost. == 42 Req: Find the center of the galaxy Tips: * Finding the center is easy. Reaching it is not. You'll have to deal with the Grox, and the fact that your travel range diminishes the closer you get to the center. * While possible with the Interstellar Drive 4, Interstellar Drive 5 makes the travel much easier. * If you choose not to ally with the Grox before attempting this, don't stop. Ever. Keep moving, and use health packs to heal the damage the Grox ships will be doing to you. * You can pause the game to analyze what system to hop to next. * If you ally with the Grox, they won't bother you on your entire trip in. * You're going to either need energy packs, an alliance with the Grox, or make colonies in order to replenish your energy. * Don't be afraid to backtrack. There are some routes where it's impossible to reach the center, and you'll have to go back and find another way. * You can slignshot around star systems, by clicking on the next system before reaching your original destination. If you're running from the Grox, this will make your trip faster (thus suffering less damage), and it may also allow you to reach systems you otherwise wouldn't be able to. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ == Oh the Humanity! Req: Destroy Earth Tips: * Use a Planet Buster on Earth. You can save before using it, and then reload the game if you want Earth to remain. +----------------------------------[ Badges ][015A]----------------------------+ Bodyguard - Defend 35 Friends to earn this Brain Surgeon - Promote 40 Creatures to Tribe stage Captain's Badge - Enter Space Cleaner - Complete 70 eradicator missions Collector - Collect 100 Artifacts Colonist - Place 200 Colony buildings * City Halls (that get placed automatically when creating a colony) count Conquerer - Conquer 50 planets * Civilization stage planets count.
