Taking huge inspiration from hidden object games like Mystery Case Files, your job is to search for clues in spot-the-difference puzzles to solve a series of crimes. The Vanishing Files is both relaxing and infuriating in equal measure; the low-res graphics of the DS (and the Wii version) means it can occasionally be a matter of dumb luck finding some items. But if you don’t mind sitting for hours, eyes inches from the screen, this is every bit as good as Mystery Case Files: Millionheir and the likes.
