Brandon Routh added to Scott Pilgrim

Edgar Wright is continuing to hoover up a pleasingly eclectic cast for his adaptation of Bryan Lee O’Malley's Scott Pilgrim stories, with Brandon Routh the latest to sign on.

If you’re unfamiliar with the story, O’Malley’s graphic novels find young slacker Pilgrim trying to win the woman of his dreams by defeating her seven evil ex-lovers.

Superbad’s Michel Cera has long been signed as Scott, with Mary Elizabeth Winstead as his crush object.

Rivals

Now the rivals are starting to stack up: Routh will play Todd Ingram, a rocker with vegan psychic powers, while Chris Evans is Lucas Lee, skateboarder-turned-film star.

Mae Whitman is Roxy Richter, Winstead’s fourth ex, who happens to be a ninja. And there’s Satya Bhabha as another, who can summon demon hipster girls to help him fight. As you do.

On Pilgrim’s side, we have Mark Webber as Stephen Sills, who is part of his rock band, Anna Kendrick as his sister, Envy Adams (Brie Larson), his ex girlfriend and Knives Chau (Ellen Wong), the girl he’s dating when he meets the girl of his dreams.

Rumours that Wright is actually secretly starting a football team are, of course, entirely plausible. Oh, and in case you're wondering if we really have found pictures of everyone mentioned herem, just let your eyeballs wander to the gallery over to the right.
