Amazon Deals - UK

There may only be a few hours left in day one of Amazon's Prime Day game deals, but worry not! The sales continue all throughout tomorrow, July 16th, and if last year is any indication, some of the hottest deals won't roll out until later in the second day. So if you haven't found what you want yet, don't lose hope.  Just make sure you're signed up for an Amazon Prime membership to take advantage of all the savings, and keep an eye on this page for the very best deals as they appear.

Right now, there's a killer deal on a PS4 Pro with God of War and Days Gone for $350 (save $113), but chances are it won't last long, so grab it while it's still discounted. That's two of the best recent PS4 exclusives and the high end Pro model at a massive discount. You can also grab a Nintendo Switch bundled up with $35 of eShop credit for just $299, a saving of $35. That'll give you some extra cash to pick up a handful of indie titles, or slash the price of a big Nintendo exclusive significantly.

Best Prime Day video game deals right now

On the UK side, one of the best current deals is 15 months of PS Plus for £49, basically netting you three free months of service. Call of Duty Black Ops 4 is only £12 on PS4  right now as well (it's £16 on Xbox One, weirdly), a killer markdown on one of the franchise's best recent entries. For a look at every video game included in the Prime Day madness, check out our massive listings.

Best PS4 deals

When the Amazon Prime Day game deals kick off in earnest, this is where the PS4 deals will live. Sony's console is expected to see big savings during Prime Day because the Pro is due a price cut, and the PS5 is due some time in 2020, so this is one of the last big retail events Sony has to really tempt us into buying a console during this generation. One thing's for sure - there will be plenty of PS4 games going cheap, and you'll definitely be able to get one of the best PS4 headsets for a discounted price, and maybe pick up a PS4 controller cheap too. These are the best PS4 Prime Day deals we've seen before the event actually starts...

Best Nintendo Switch deals

The most popular console right now is the Nintendo Switch, and it's going to be the star of the Amazon Prime Day game deals in 2019. Why? Well, it rarely sees decent price cuts unless you're looking at big retail events like Prime Day, and everyone is keen to buy the console because a) it's ace, and b) it naturally compliments one of the traditional home consoles too, thanks to its portability and a wealth of exclusive or enhanced games. If you've been waiting to grab a Switch, now will definitely be the time. Switch games rarely see reductions, but you'll get a selection of them on sale during Amazon Prime Day. And if you need a Nintendo Switch controller cheap, well, this is also a decent time to strike.

The All-Digital Xbox One S is already sub-$200, and the regular console can be found for the same sort of price too. The more powerful 4K version, the Xbox One X, is going for around $399, but will likely drop a little during Prime Day too. Amazon Prime Day game deals - do I need membership?

Amazon Prime Day game deals: PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC

Yes, you need to be a member of Amazon Prime to be able to take advantage of the deals on Amazon Prime Day 2019. Similarly, if you're looking to extend your Prime membership - especially if you use the video streaming services - then Prime Day is the time to do that. Don't forget that membership stacks, so your new subscription won't actually start until the old one finishes.

Another advantage of Prime membership is that you get free, next-day delivery. In reality, Amazon struggles to fulfil that on big-sale events like Prime Day and Black Friday, so expect some items to take a couple of days to arrive after you order them, based on where you live. Doesn't always happen, but previous experience suggests this is the case.

There's an added bonus for anyone looking to sign up for Prime ahead of the Amazon Prime Day game deals too. If you sign up and link your account to Twitch Prime, you get $1.25m in GTA Online credit and $300 in Red Dead Online. That's a hell of an incentive, if you play either of Rockstar's online games.

Amazon Prime Day game deals - what else is on sale?

It won't just be games on sale during the Amazon Prime Day deals event. You'll also be able to get 4K TVs, mobile phones, and loads of other tech. You'll be able to get Amazon products cheap, with the retailer usually offering 25% off most of its own products - like Fire TV stick, the Kindle Fire tablets, and the Echo range. Echo works with loads of smart devices now, so you can easily fold one into your gaming set-up. Meanwhile, while you wouldn't count the Fire HD tablets among the best gaming tablets, they're definitely great for kids, so you could easily pick one up for the family to free up TV and tablet time for yourself.

You'll also be able to pick up excellent deals on PC components and parts, so if you're building your own rig, Prime Day is a great time to snag some new stuff like one of the best gaming monitors or even a new GPU. Certainly, you'll see savings on keyboards and mice.
