6 things Capcom need to do with Resident Evil 6

Oooh, a bit controversial this one, eh? But really, is anyone that attached to Chris, Jill, Leon, Claire or Sheva? The existing back story is already horribly convoluted. And while the last title did tie up a lot of loose ends, we’d still rather the scary slate was just wiped clean. An entire new cast of characters and location would give new players the chance to discover the Resi mythology for the first time without feeling left out, and would hopefully reinvigorate the developers into a fresh narrative approach. Although, if Capcom want to give us a Barry Burton spin-off game, we’d be so cool with that.

Don’t give us this ‘but it would ruin the tension’. Horseshit. Dead Space proved you could walk and gun down alien beasties simultaneously without losing even a modicum of the terrifying atmosphere. Resi’s antiqued controls are a hark back to a bygone era of games that need hit with a shovel then buried under ten feet of dirt. We want fluid, responsive handling to bring the series up to the standards of the cream of the 3rd person action crop. As long as you make enemies more mobile to combat our character finally figuring out how to rub his stomach and pat his head at the same time, it’ll be as tense as ever.
