Zatch Bell!: Mamodo Fury - hands-on

Mamodo Fury features a pretty solid story mode, with nicely done anime intermissions setting up and paying off each encounter with hostile Mamodo. Each stage will rate your performance, and higher grades will give you more points to spend on increasing your Mamodo's attributes between levels. Since this is a fighting game there's also a versus mode, with 20 pairs of characters to choose from. You can import your previously powered-up Mamodo here, which should be useful for securing an unfair advantage when your pre-teen, Zatch Bell! maniac friends stop by. There'll also be a few other ways to play, but we haven't been able to unlock them yet.

Zatch Bell! Mamodo Fury is nothing if not novel, and like its predecessor looks to do a pretty job of translating the anime weirdness into a decent game. It's due out in late September, giving us plenty of time to work those tacos out of our diet.
