With Spider-Man 3 kicking off blockbuster season next week, Warner is making sure we don’t forget its big hitter of the summer by releasing a new trailer for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
After the events of Goblet of Fire shifted the tone of the series darkwards with the return of very naughty boy Lord Voldemort, Harry now finds himself in that difficult teenager phase. You know the sort of thing – he’s stroppy, he’s got issues with girls and no one believes his claims that the Dark Lord has returned. Teenagers, eh?
Obviously you don’t expect too many surprises with a Potter movie, but this thriller-ish trailer suggests that new director David Yates (who helmed the Beeb’s sublime political corruption drama State of Play) might have turned JK Rowling’s rather flabby fifth Potter instalment into something a tad more exciting.
