Patrice Desilets is back. The Assassin's Creed I and II creative designer defected to THQ Montreal in 2011, but is officially working with Ubisoft once more, Polygon reports.
Ubisoft snapped up the studio for $2.5 million in THQ's January bankruptcy auction, along with Desilets' unannounced game codenamed 1666 and another project dubbed Underdog. Ubisoft said it was unclear immediately after the auction what, if any, role Desilets would play at his former employer. That's no longer the case.
"We are very pleased to welcome Patrice to Ubisoft again and anticipate that this renewed partnership will produce new ideas and high-quality titles for Ubisoft's customers," a spokesperson told Polygon.
Just when he thought he was out, they pull him back in, even though a Ubisoft lawsuit against his employment at THQ failed... Wait, is Ubisoft the French mafia?
Don't answer that question.
