Earlier this week, we ran astory about cracks appearing in DS Lite systems' hinges - largely in those bought in Europe and Japan. Today, Nintendo fired back a statistic that puts the story in, well, a whole new light.
According to Nintendo of America, "In the U.S., the reported number of small cosmetic cracks in the plastic hinge of DS Lite systems represents less than 0.02 percent of the total units sold." Further, the company contends that "This cosmetic issue in no way impacts the gameplay or integrity of the DS Lite."
If you're having a problem, Nintendo recommends that you contact itscustomer service department. The company has a great reputation with gamers for responding to claims quickly and fairly, so it's definitely worth a shot.
